Why do most of us watch these serials..? Answer, mainly coz we fall for the acotrs. 😳 😆

About the generation leap?? Yes both the makers n the viewers are to be blamed.

If they wanna continue the serial for a more than a year...then Ok fine....one genration leap is fine...but making Tulsi n Partvati grandmothers and they still lookin as young as sweet 16...😆!!This is way too much..!!!

In the Baa issue we can give them sum concession.😉 Baa is the only great great great grandmother still alive in the history of Indain Telly. And we have a one in a million such cases in reality too. So let Baa live..!! 😛

About the appearances of actors after leap..!! How can dey look father or mother of 2,3 or 4 children (age:20-25) on screen when they are not even married yet in real life... 😆
Neither can the producers/makers take the risk of replacing the actors by an aged actor coz then again their business in danger. How many of u wud watch 'Kyunki..' if Smriti Irani is replaced by sum other elder actress ? Same goes for Parvati, Prerna, Kumkum etc.

One good thing abt the show Bhabhi is that the earlier characters (with whom the show started) are no longer a part of it Mr.Tilak Chopra died n Saroj dunno where she went..!! 😛 The serial is now based on the current generation and they are shown to be father or mother of a 6-7 yr old child which is acceptable to sum extent.

The leap in Kumkum was also a well calculate leap with not as many bloopers as mostly we get to see in "K serials". The only thing not acceptable to sum is tht Sumit n Kumkum dun look to be parents of 3 children. And saying Antara track was pointless i sumhow dun agree over here. A saas-bahu relationship was shown. How a bahu mistakes the principles n good teachings of her saas. Believe me in today's world sum "Bahu's" exist n i have seen so my own self. They dun treat there MIL's n FIL's nicely n dun care abt them. Where ever u turn ur head 'dhookebaazi' exists.

Lets talk abt 'Kasauti'. 😆 During the early days of Kasauti Mr.Bajaj was shown to be an old man n father of Three children already. So many years gone by so many generation leaps taken n he still as active n fit as a 30 yr old man. If we actually calculate his age from his entry into the serial n till date, including the 20 yr leaps taken Mr.Bajaj is no less than 80 yrs.

One sensible thing done by Balaji till date....Ending 'kavyanjali' on a good note. Na koi leap na Eijoo Anita banne 3-4 children ke parents😆.

Viewers becharoon ka kia kasoor...😳...😆...watching TV serials is a source of entertainment...only..Bole Toe time pass...😃...!!

No harm in making serials...But Kekta maiyaa...please make sensible serials which dunt lack creativity. 😳

i agree with DON on the point she said..mainly,we watch these serials coz of the actors..! 😆 😛

But the thing is, every serial today is targetted at the same type of audience. They love watching sob-sagas,and they love generation leaps. But fine, a few serials are ok, but EVERY serial?? It gets a bit too much.

When new serials are made, ones which try to break out of the mould, they are hit,if well-shot and directed.

Coming to generation leaps, as much as many of us can't see the logic in them, the fact that people continue watching shows after generation leaps shows that they ork. We can't really blame script-writers or directors because they're at the mercy of production houses who are concerned mainly about TRPs. So, well, ya, I guess the audience is to blame if generation leaps keep happening in every serial. If they keep watching it,and the money keeps rolling in,why would the channel or producers stop?

Phewwwww.....very well written topic...

Y v watch da shows...is becoz of da acotrs...I agree wid Saara(Don in dat point)... 😳

But I guess...its very difficlut to find out whose fault is it wen it comes to generation leaps...is it da Production house or da viewrs...

Production ppl gave the idea of leap a try...viewrs luved it...so then to increase the so called TRP's of da show...the PH ppl again introduced a leap...ppl still liked it...

Phewwwww...ek baar theek hai...how can u watch a serial goin for a leap for da second time...bhagooo...cant imagine... 😉

I thought it was ridiculpus,non-sense,idiotic,stupidity,absurdity,balderdash, bunkum,drivel,garbage....so I get fed up...irriated..if I watch such kinda shows...I get betta entertainment on channels like POGO and CartoonNetwork than on Star Plus and Zee Tv....

Nice post and interesting topic of discussion!

Well, I think that nowadays good stories/content hardly matters anymore. (Be it the film industry or the soaps). The only thing that matters these days it seems is glamor. If not, then why do have to have the protagonists wearing backless saris, shorts etc.? Why is that needed? Can't they act the same way with all the clothes on? I guess so!

Take Kaajjal for instance (Note: This is just to give an example. I personally watch the show too so it's not like I dislike the show. It's just an example) Every time she wears anything other than her regular clothes on occasions, 99 times it's backless. Is that needed? No! She is a good actress and will be fine with other clothes too.

Since glamor is given so much importance these days, then I guess their belief is that if they show mothers with all silver hair and dull clothes that might take away from their overall glamor of the show. That's why we hardly see any mothers these days that actually look older than their daughters/sons.

Is the production house only to be blamed for this? NO! The viewers (including me) are too. I think we are getting farther and farther away from realities in soaps. Thus, we don't seem to care about it anyway as long as we see all mirch masala with the main protagonist getting married 10 times and divorced 8 times.

also, now that KAA is kind of losing its charm. i think we might have a leap soon. maybe in a month or two. seeing gauri will have twins and then probably ishipita and anupam might have kids. and then maybe kaya and vivan might get married 😳
