What is the meaning of Govardhan & what does Indar mean?

Why did Krishna pick that hill?

Govardhan was a hill near Gokul. Indra was the king of all Gods..He got furious on Gokul people when Krishna asked them to worship Govardhan parvat instead of Lord Indra...Indra is also the God of rain..It rained badly in gokul for several days..Lord Krishna took the shelter of Govardhan picked the hill and all Gokul ppl. took shelter beneath that....Indra was ashamed this act..He recognized Krishna and asked for forgiveness...Lord Krishna gave him this boon that he would take care of Indra's son "Arjun".....

Lord Krishna did all this to teach arrogant Indra a lesson.

Kunti prayed to Lord indra for a son and she received Arjuna , so Arjuna is Indra's son the same way as Yudhistra is so of Yamraj or Dharmraj 😊

Pandu was cursed by a rishi that he can't induldge in a relationship and whenever he tries to do so, that'll be the last day of his life...Kunti had got this boon that she can call any God through some mantra and that God will have to give her a boon...To test this mantra, she called upon Surya devta..At that time, she was not married..Surya (Sun God) gave her a son (who was popularly known as Karna)..The same way Kunti gave birth to 3 children. from Dharmraaj, Vayu and Indra....She gave the same mantra to Madri and hence her sons Nakul and Sehdev were born..Biologically Pandu was not the father but pandavas r known are Pandu's sons.....
