Small screen's self-effacing bahu Parvati, Saakshi Tanwar is completely different from her screen persona.
In real life Saakshi turned out to be just another fun-loving young woman, unlike her tearjerking alter ego in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki. In Ahmedabad recently, we caught Saakshi for a rapidfire interview and figured out that she does relate to Parvati's character a lot and is a lot like her too principled and believes that "nothing matters more than following traditions and being ethical about the smallest things in life."
Otherwise, Saakshi says her stardom hasn't really changed her as a person and despite her massive fan following, she likes to be treated as any other 'normal' working woman is "with respect and dignity. What you see is what you get. Of course, I am perhaps much more optimistic than Parvati is, but otherwise, I am fairly chilled out."
How important is to constantly look good, given that her job demands it all the time? Saakshi confesses that the pressure of looking good does exist. "For us, our faces are our fortune. Actors have to look good. That's very important. I also follow a strict fitness regime I do power-yoga thrice a week and take special care of my skin as well," confesses Saakshi.
Acting might have been an 'accident' to begin with, but Saakshi seems content with the way her career is shaping up. Although Saakshi has had many offers on hand, she doesn't yet feel like shrugging off her Parvati identity, "it doesn't seem like seven years have gone by. I still enjoy my role and I don't wish to look out until the right time." That apart she is happy hosting Yeh Hai Jalwa (9X). Her other passion, besides acting? The Delhi girl loves cooking up new flavours. "Whenever I get time, I like to cook Indian vegetarian dishes," she adds with a grin.
The actress confesses she's totally in love with the city. "Ahmedabad also has the highest viewership of our soap and the city is special to me. I find the people very warm and caring. Besides, I adore shopping here," she says on a parting note.
