Ajeeb dastan hain ye Pranay ki
Pranay's character (played by Jeetu Malkani) in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii is one of the most intriguing among K-serials. He started off as a positive character but circumstances forced him to turn negative. And every time he tried to turn positive again, something or the other went wrong…
JULY 2007…TURNS NEGATIVE
Pranay comes to know through Trishna (Mita Vashisht) that he is foster son of Shruti during his marriage ceremony. He feels cheated by his family. Following this, he loses his wits and in the process destroys his marital life. He has an affair with Mallishka and later marries her arguing with his family that if others can do it, then why not him.
AUGUST 2007 (First & Second week)… SOME POSITIVES SHADES BUT…
Pranay's cousin sister Pragati meets with a serious accident. During those testing times, it is Maithali and not Mallishka who takes great care of Pragati. Just when Pranay begins to realize that Maithali is the right choice for her as a wife, he gets a letter from her saying that she does not want to stay with him anymore because she can't tolerate him after all that he has done which has left her heartbroken.
AUGUST 2007 (Last Week)… PRANAY RAPES MAITHALI
Unable to tolerate Maithali's rebuttal, Pranay drags her to a lonely room far away from the house and rapes her. He mouths some dialogues clearly indicative of his male ego: "Ab tumpe meri mohar lag chuki hain…Ab tum chaho toh bhi kisi aur ki nahi ho sakti…" and warns her of dire consequences if she revealed this to anyone.
SEPT 2007
An audience poll is held and it is unanimously decided that Parvati should file a case against him which she does.
Meanwhile, Jeetu Malkani (Pranay) is suffering from jaundice and his character will be replaced (may be via a plastic surgery).
Despite being bed-ridden, Pranay spoke to us about his fluctuating character. He said, "It's just that kind of a character. I really don't know when I will turn completely positive. Pranay's character is completely confused."
