Can't believe this.. To this day.. there are 13% people who think that a family matter, irrespective of how heinous a crime it is, should stay within a household??? 😡 This makes me disgusted beyond words can say.. It's so sad that people think that given the circumstances, this matter should not go to court.. or the fact that such atrocious things should not be made public knowledge..Its this 13% that enables our nations back home to stay illeterate and to treat women like they are in fact their "paon ki jooti"..Yuck... I am so damn disappointed.. ~

That's exactly what I was saying to Sidra in MPKDH. OK, 87% is a majority, but considering the amount of people in India who watch the show zealously and would vote, there are 13% of people still living in that society who think that the matter should have been resolved at home? The majority percentage should have been in the high-90s; currently, there is a lot of work to be done in terms of educating people 🤢

^If Maithili gives Pranay a divorce? That's hardly the issue is it? It's Pranay and his crazy family who think Mets should "get over it" and go have babies with Pranay, who clearly loves her so much(!) 🤢

Even if Pranay WERE willing to divorce her, shouldn't she get justice for what he has done to her? So what if their izzat goes in the gutter - its been there before and will no doubt be there again - what about Mets' izzat?

izzat, their son is a rapist, what kind of family is it to talk about izzat they should be shameful to death😡 on what their son has done, what kind of izzat they are talking about...

yeah, if they get Met's divorce in court on the terms that Pranay has done this pathatic thing to Mets... then their izzat might return, but at this time, they don't have any right to talk about izzat😡

sad, it seriously is....I was like only 87%....its so sad that ppl actually think marital rape shuld stay within the household....I watched in various movies where a rape victim would be given "justice" by forcing the rapist to marry her....that is fiction...now, I hope that is not the mentality of the Indian population (esp the rural areas)...I'm assuming many of those 13% might not consider martial rape actual rape and maybe even think that Mets is already ruined for life (which i don't get, hello, that one traumatic event in her life doesn't define her) and no one else would accepther so she shuld just stick with her sick husband...

sana,

I know what you are trying to say. Even I was worried to know that only 87% people voted in favour for this.

But on other hand I feel that we are all thinking in a avery ideallistic POV. I am not talking abt family's izzat or their so called son's izzat. But think what a girl will have to go through during such a situation. Rape in itself breaks a girls will poer and strength. So to file a case against her own husband and go thru the trial in a country like India will be more than tormenting.

Forget your in laws. I dont think even your parents will allow you to file a court case if such a thing happens. They might stand with you for getting a divorce from the creep but will never let you do a court case.

Its not because they dont love you but they are worried abt ur future. I am not saying it is right. Our country needs to grow up a lot to face such stuff with open mind. May be in future. defenitely not now.
