Omg all of you guys are soooooooo sweeeet!!! I cant believe you actually
like my fanfic. And don't worry queen Persephone you don't bother me at
all, I really enjoy reading everyones comments and im just grateful that
you guys take the time out to read my stuff.
Okay I just wanted to say one thing, I decided right from the beginning
that I wanted to take things slow, in the sense I think relationships take
time to build and they haven't even been friends tooo long, I think they
both haven't even accepted their attraction for one another…"love" seems
a little while away..but don't worry I promise I wont take things too slow,
after all it is a fanfic. So I jus wanted to put that out in the open and see
what you guys thought about that…please feel free to disagree.
Part 12-
She pressed the blue and red pushpins firmly into the main soft board
and took a few steps back to see if the poster had been aligned properly.
Yes..it was perfect…the alignment and the strategy.
She turned around and saw a young man hustling around the hallway..
"Praney! What are you doing here?"
Praney: Oh..uh hi..Janki Devi
Janki Devi looked at him curiously: Hi...
Praney: Oh.. Uh Im just here, just, I dunno, I needed to speak to mettilli
Janki Devi: These are Mettili's office hours Praney…..
Praney: umm…
Janki Devi: But I am glad you are here…look at this poster..read it
carefully and I want you to participate, the application deadline is at the
end of the week..
Praney: but..
Janki Devi: You always respect me and my choices..right…so when I ask
you to do something…atleast seriously consider it…you know it'll always
be for your own benefit, even if you don't understand why…just like when
I put the 500-crores in your name..
Praney: I will…ofcourse I will..i promise I'll consider it.
Janki Devi: And praney…can you find and send Vikram-Aditya Mehra to
my office please?
Praney: voh to library me sar raha hai..
Janki Devi:…Huh….okay never mind..perhaps ill make a trip there
myself...
Library:
She watched him from the door….he looked like he wanted to pull his
hair out…he was scrawling on various different papers..but every couple
of minutes he would tear the page he just wrote on, ball it up and smack
the crackling paper down on the table in frustration…she smiled
inwardly…she best go interrupt him now before he became submerged in
crushed paper machie..
She walked over to the huge arch-shaped glass window that he was now
leaning against. She stood next to him, and watched him longingly stare
out of the window at the open green meadows of the athletics field. He
was so lost in thought he didn't notice her presence. She light tapped him
on his shoulder..and he turned to face her…
Janki: Aditya…Uh I mean Vikram-Aditya…what happened?
Adi: Atleast that's some progress….
Janki Devi: huh..
Adi: From, Vikram-Aditya its become Aditya…you know you can call me
Adi right..he said smiling her sweetly
She was touched…
Janki Devi: Would you then feel comfortable calling me Lady-D to my
face?..she said winking at him.
He felt startled and embarrassed and didn't know what to say…
She realized couldn't lose her composure…she was till Janki Devi…but
she couldn't help chuckle inside at his stupefied expression..
She cleared her throat and continued: ahem.. lets keep this official…the
college year is coming to an end with the music festival and summer is
approaching…there is this program in South Africa this summer..its very
interesting and is open to absolutley everyone…it's a developmental
program..a fight against the violation of human rights…which by the way,
is currently the top priority of the United Nations …and since you are a
Law student…I feel this would be a fantastic opportunity…and I think you
should apply to the program…infact I WANT you to apply…you remember
our deal right Ad..Vikram-Aditya?
Adi: Yes maam…how can I forget….it is the only reason I am here..
Janki Devi: That reminds me…how is that thesis going…your year will not
end without it..
Adi:..its…going..
Janki Devi: Good..I hope you discover some important things along the
way… I have put a poster up regarding the South Africa program on the
main bulletin board..please have a look at it… also, we have a details
meeting for the Music Festival tomorrow in my office…I hope this time
you BOTH will be more prepared..Good Luck Mr. Mehra, I hope I have
given you enough things to keep you busy and free from any 'dada-giri'/
time-wasting type of nonsense.
As she walked away she couldn't help thinking…sorry Adi…I know I have
burdened you with so much work...but it is the only way to get you on the
right track…and as for the human rights program…my goal is to ensure
that all my grandchildren participate in it…it would teach them one of the
most important lessons of life: humanity
It was her mission now to ensure that they all got accepted in to the
program…Pragati, Praney, Adi, Bharat, Tannu, Neha…and spent the
summer in South Africa..away from the harsh glare of Trishna's influence.
Later: Mid-day
Recording studio on Campus
It was one of the most impressive buildings on campus...high tech
equipment, sound proof glass, acoustics, electric guitars…it had all the
works. Being in this building could make anyone forget they were in Law
school…it was the stress reliever room…for most…
The two wore huge headphones and sat in the sound proof elevated box
that separated them from the auditioning bands…
Adi: I am so tired of this
Mettili: Me too, how many more bands can we watch, if I hear one more
rendition of 'pehla nasha' I am going to throw up, they ve totally killed
the song…
He just grunted in exhaustion and put his head down on the table
Mettili: Do you think we'll be able to find enough bands and solo artists in
time for the festival?
Adi: bah
Mettili laughed: that's an appropriate answer
Adi: Ugh…Do you have any idea how beautiful it is outside?
Mettili didn't quite catch the sarcasm in his tone and continued: Yes it is a
lovely day, perhaps too hot but lovely all the same,
Adi: Well I don't have any idea, cuz I ve been cooped up inside all day
long with thi..urrghfghfff, he couldn't even finish and just growled
instead..
She paid no heed to his whining …thoughts of the lovely day had gotten
her thinking…she stared dreamily at the ceiling,
Mettili: I wonder if we will be able to request any songs at festival…there
are so many I really want to hear… pyar ke liye, sau dard, begin, jeene ke
ishare, how to save a life, janeman,.. don't stop dancing…sigh…..but
most of all brian mcknight's back to one….sigh
Adi: is that the type of music you like…its soo….cheesy and sappy…I
mean seriously…especially 'back to one'….what do you think, brian
mcknight is going to fly across the world to serenade you….really
metteli…he said wagging his finger at her…you disappoint me with your
taste in men and music…he teased in a mocking tone…so lovey-
dovey..corny blah
Mettilli appropriately intercepted his tone this time and replied wittily:
Well I am not the one who has to write a THESIS of all things on the
philosophy of LOVE…she said sticking her tongue out at him,
Adi: AND law…he sighed
He thumped his head back down on the table in resignation…
Adi: Urghh…Mettili you have to help me…you just have to…I cant do
it..im going crazy..please. puh-lease….i'll do anything in return!
Mettili smiled cockily: Anything?!
Adi hesitated:. uh…sure…anything..
Mettilli: Well p..
But she was interrupted before things could get anymore interesting,
"Mettilli I ve been looking for you every where!"
Mettili: Hey Praney, whatsup?
Praney: Can I have a moment with you…I need to speak with you..
Mettili: sure
Praney: Privatley
She felt uncomfortable…it was rude of Praney to ask to speak to her in
private in somebody else's company..and that made her feel awkward..
Praney: Please, its important.
Mettili: Uhm, okay..sure I am pretty much done here..Adi I'll catch up with
you later…I promise I'll keep up my end of the bargain..if you keep up
yours, she said winking at him, trying to ease the situation and make it
less awkward than it already was..
He watched her leave…damn that praney…the conversation was only just
getting interesting….he had come like a hawk and swooped his mettili
away…wait…had he jus unconsciously reffered to her as "his" mettilli…o
lord…he was really going over the edge now…and who cared if praney
was the black hawk down…he always knew it was the two of them from
the beginning…but hadn't she said they were just friends…oh thank
god…wait what..what ..why thank god.…jesus adi you are one confused
fool…slow down boy…but she's so….no boy..she's a big no-no…..
but...she's beautiful….so what if she's beautiful, there are many beautiful
people…yes..yes! that's true,.. this doesn't make her special…i couldn't
give a frogs ass who she is with or what she does with her life..
………….but the fact was.....she was driving him absolutely crazy…this is
driving him absa-lutley crazy…..oh Jesus Christ…..this was very
dangerous territory…he was treading on crocodile water and he knew it!..
….he was hella stuck…
As he continued his senseless battle in his head he didn't realized that
while doodling he had conveniently drawn 'A+M' on scraps of paper.
He couldn't take it anymore…his head was swimming…South Africa…
thesis…philosophy…music festival…idiot praney….mettilli…it was all too
much…he felt like his head was going to explode..tylenol…no, he didn't
have any….but he knew a passion that he could very easily exploit to
mitigate the pounding in his throbbing head….He threw his pen down
and raced out of the sound box...
I know this is a really short part but don worry i have the next two parts
ready but i jus felt like there should gap between this and the next
bit...so ill post the rest perhaps later tonight or tom... hope you liked it.
I might post links to the songs later if you guys want incase no-ones
heard them, just cuz its a music festival..so the songs could be important
later...lol, k cheers.
