I can't believe they refused to give him the flat because of his religion 😡 that is so not right no one should be judged by what religion they are, we are living in a multi-cultural society and should respect others beliefs 😡

I'm aware of this issue. The reasons are quite complex...its not simply a religion issue. This seems to be a direct impact of the Bombay riots '92...the areas with a population of both Hindus and Muslims were the ones primarily targeted (of course, politically motivated, but the damage was done). Most probably the reason here, would be to avoid harassment should such events recur. In fact, the minorities in an area (could be either hindus or muslims) are the ones who are really vulnerable, so the reasons work out in his favor.

I completely agree with your comments. But you have no idea how things and people change drastically and behave violently during riots. My friend is a doctor and was working in a renowned public hospital when the riots broke out. The casualties and the stories heard weren't all that pleasant. Anyway, Mumbai is still secular and except for a few areas like this one the majority don't really care.

This is just not right...😡 I am also a muslim and I feel coz of few ppl all the community is facing the wrath.... not fair to be judged like that. Hope he finds a better place to live with ppl who have higher mentality then these.
