After his marginally successful Bollywood debut Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai and playing the insignificant Samir, who was seen sporadically in Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii, being offered lead roles in two Bollywood films was more than what Aamir Ali could have asked for. If things had proceeded as planned Aamir's films should have been released by now. However, both his films, Anjaan jointly produced by Anil Bohra and Manohar Kanungo and Raghu produced by Pankaj Agarwal have been awaiting release for some time now.
The reason given was that the producers and distributors could not arrive at a joint consensus, causing unreasonable delay. When contacted, Aamir Ali said, "There are a lot of complications in film-making, which I have learnt in the last few months. I have come to know that releasing a film is as difficult as making it."
Both Aamir's films are in different stages -- post-production work is under progress for Raghu while Anjaan is complete. "The producer of Raghu, Mr. Agarwal is a businessman first and so his business is his priority. I guess he finds it difficult to devote time to the film. In the case of Anjaan, you must talk to the producer," said Aamir.
When contacted, Bohra said, "Yes. There were certain complications. The digital grading of certain scenes was not up to the mark. So we had to redo it. That took a lot of time. We are looking at releasing the film by March 31."
Incidentally, Hansal Mehta, who directed Aamir in Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai, is directing him in both his new films. Mehta however, sidelined difficulty in distribution as the source of any trouble and said, "Unfortunately, the film industry is loaded in favour of 'stars'. Cinematic merit is generally ignored. We are completing the film despite all obstacles. We are under various stages of post-production. We want the film to release and be marketed well." However, he remained non-committal about the film's release date.
