Actress, best bahu in the country
As Parvati of Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, Sakshi Tanwar could be the most-loved bahu in the country putting family interests over her personal ones. Families would gather in drawing rooms and passersby in front of television showrooms as this tautly directed khandani melodrama unfurled on the small screens.
"I really feel top-of-the-world," Sakshi says about her rising popularity among the television audience. She started out by acting in inter-collegiate festivals, and then worked in several Doordarshan serials before getting a major role in Sony-s Bhawar. "Then came Rajdhani which made me a known name. Kahani happened after that." Though many Bollywood directors came calling, she found nothing exciting: most of them were in the bahu mould. "I may as well continue on the small screen," she says. Working 12 hours a day for Kahani, and two other serials she has her hands full. Not to mention the off-and-on modeling shoots including those for Nerolac paints and Breeze soap. "Well, and I love to cook, dance and sing." Whether she gets to indulge is a different matter.
