A very small oneshot. Rohit's POV...

When can you appropriately declare that your heart has broken? Is it when the superficial cracks appear? Is it when those cracks deepen and slice through the arteries or when it finally explodes and the broken pieces shatter into dust? Rohit couldn't decipher as it pained all the same in each and every case. He could dimly hear Suman screeching obscenities in the background as his head exploded with a mind numbing pain. He knew it was the outburst of a highly tensed mother but he couldn't deny that it f*cking hurt so damn much. Mostly because most of what he was being so ruthlessly accused of was true. Sona had loved him unconditionally, loved his undeserving family unconditionally and got pain, humiliation and heart break in return. He knew that it must be her worst decision to marry him and he also knew she might have cursed herself for the same since the past four months....yet. yet when Suman spat all that in his face with so much venom to puy even a viper to shame he felt miserable. Her words pierced his soul like arrows as he literally staggered back with its vicious impact. He had begun slowly dragging his lead laden feet out of the room trying desperately to get his chaotic brain into a semblance of functioning. He can't descend into self pity while his Sona was missing. Right now most important thing is to find her. He heard Sumit argue ferociously on his behalf with Suman. Good old Sumit. Only he knew Rohit's truth. And the guy had had enough seriously!

"Aunty please! Don't say anything you'll regret later. You don't know what Rohit has done for Sona. He had..." Rohit quickly caught Sumit's hand shaking his head in disapproval. Mumma can't know about this? Too much burden on her anyways.. "Dr. Rohit please let me..." Sumit began exasperated only to be interrupted again. "Leave it Sumit. What is important right now is to find Sona. All of that can wait. Please trust me! Take care of Mumma. I have to reach the hospital. I'll be in touch with the inspector and will keep updating you." Sumit just bend his head in frustration. Rohit took it as a cue to exit from there.

Sona...Sona where are you? How can I find you my darling? Please come back sweetheart. You are not infected. You won't die. I am so glad. But where are you Sona...

Rohit was roaming through the empty corridors of the hospital lost in her thoughts. The inspector had just called to say that they'd caught the driver. Now it was only a matter of time before they find Sonakshi. Relief had gushed like a stream over his scortching being temporarily soothing his frayed nerves. He opened a door and went inside. It seemed to Rohit that he had suddenly lost the sense of time and space. Only fragments of her memories assailed his vision. Their cute nok-jhoks, their passionate make ups, her honey amber eyes sparkling with love, her lusciously long locks which were his favourite playthings, her rose plump lips which often adorned in a cute pout....

Sonakshi....Sonakshi...Sonakshi. How he loved her! How he missed her! How he can never have her...

Suddenly a sneeze broke his musings. Rohit annoyingly realized that it was his own. Suddenly a bout of cough wracked his chest with agonizing intensity. He could suddenly feel his head pound with pain and vision becoming blurry. What was happening?

"SIR! OH MY GOD! SIR! WHY HAVE YOU COME WITHOUT THE MASK!!!!" Tulsi screamed, pure panic dripping from her voice. Rohit touched his face mildly amazed before seeing around. He was in the infected ward filled with patients suffering from the Super Virus. And he had no mask! Great! Rohit didn't know what to say, what to think, what to do. He just stood their staggering lightly trying to feel the deadly disease creep dreadfully into his blood. Suddenly his vision dimmed and he was aware of the vaccuum created in his stomach. Tulsi might have just screamed again. But all Rohit could remember was a slight ironical laugh bubbling in his chest. This was his reckoning. The Universe has given justice. And just before he dropped on the ground he saw Sonakshi standing a few feet away, her bleeding heart in hand...smiling at him with either sadness or triumph he couldn't decipher...

Criticism is welcomed...
