That’s why I said the other day ITV needs to bring finite shows only. Writers can’t maintain quality content for a long time. The story gets ruined in one way or another. I was searching up Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese and Thai dramas the other day and was pleasantly surprised how short they are. The average show lasts for just 2-4 months then they launch a new show unlike Indian tv where shows keep running for 4-6 years taking leaps after leaps and butchering the characters for TRP.

I always feel finite shows work...we should stop the show when audience wants the show to go on...not when ppl get fed up...there were so many good shows on Zindagi ..Humsafar And Fatima Gul ...have watched them both they were too good shows ...high on content and popular ...yes content was different ...won’t call it negative ...like Fatima Gul handied a very sensitive subject but then it was handled so well..don’t know if you ppl have seen it as I suggest you see it...in it all positive characters remained positive till very end and same with negative ...the Leads supported each other till very end ...the way the hero stands for right with the heroine till very end against all odds against everyone with support from his mother her brother and few ppl ...it was simply amazing...thus a negative topic became positive as it impacts us so positively ...it taught lesson to society ....we all want to be such ppl and have such ppl in life like the main actors ...the female actor has immense self respect ....and you feel proud of her not sorry abt her....she is not ready to marry the guy from day one for valid reasons and he is behind her but does not force himself upon her ....they are equals ....and this show was a huge hit even amongst Indian audiences right ....thus very confusing why trps are said to be high when show is negative ...80% here on this forum have criticised the show so who makes these trps .....plus like you mentioned Tarak Mehta is going on from more than 10 years....and it is still going strong ....So good positive content is appreciated ...haven’t movies like DDLJ, hahk, 3 idiots, dangal been big hits ....JJWS was a very positive movie but had a super plot aswell....was so very appreciated ....Queen a women oriented subject ....nothing to feel sorry for the lady ....female actor ke liye ek minute bhi bura nahi laga ...a big hit wasn’t it so confused abt this Sonakshi ke liye bura nahi lagta dialogue....inspite of all these serials movies are we saying that our audiences like plots where female actors are tortured shown weak ...in that case I do not know which audience we are talking abt ....and don’t know which was the audience which made the other serials and movies a hit ....I think good content is good content ....it is not abt happy content does not work or negative works or positive works or sad works ...it is more abt the plot the content ...there can’t be this formula ....whatever is the content it should be a part of the story ...well built ....in sync ....and then connect with the audience ...it has to work ...

Def surprised to know from the producer that this serial had all those idiotic twists and turns ....because trp went high because of it ....they were not related nor required....

Now coming to finite subjects ...agree completely that finite is the best as you can have a plot ready completely ....so atleast if your initial idea works you can mould it nicely ...if ppl like the show maybe you can disclose the story in parts ....this way you also have an opportunity to extend the serial timeline ....

Many serials like Uttaran in the past have been ruined due to too much extension ...Uttaran was a beautiful serial ....and if it would have been finite it would have ended on a high note ...I stopped watching it after it started getting dragged but initially it was really worth a watch .....the problem is when a good show is appreciated...there should be some strong writing to link it to previous episodes ...but they show literally anything to take it ahead ...the plot is lost ...characters nature changes ....nothing is in sync ....just useless they make it ...

But again this show KHKT hardly has completed some episodes right so finite non-finite does not matter here ...as the number of episodes which are over are too less to say that they could not take it further ...infact it was like a half baked storyline ....also if you observe all plots started but were left half way ...when Raima was mentioned it was thought of too be a big twist but when she actually was introduced the story was taken no where ...same with Karan ..hit and miss ...and most funny was the marriage and no Ronakshi after marriage ....full time plotting negativity ....some how the story itself was missing ....don’t know if they did not have a story ready so they kept showing whatever came to their mind or kept changing since trps were low ....but surely the show was not what they said it would be ...

This was the same man who ruined YHM and now he is crying that his show was ruined by interference from the channel. Karma is a bitch, someone rightly said.

I do feel bad for the fans who invested themselves in this show but I have zero sympathy for this man.

This man Sandiip tweeted ‘Who let the dogs out’ when YHM fans were tweeting against some pathetic tracks in YHM. And now he is complaining about audience not supporting his ‘good’ content.

KHKT is not finite. The show will conclude with 198 episodes which is still a lot tbh. Some episodes were just fillers.

No offense to the fandom.

The show was unique and excellent till the raima track and ronakshi confession.

After that it became worse than sasural simar ka and kpk...ott drama,sona being mahan Parvati bahu and what not!

This is not sandeep sickands first show..he has helmed the most successful show on star plus YHM..even that maintained the uniqueness for the first 200 episodes atleast.

But this one.. horrible🙄!

He of all persons shouldn't whine..he has years of experience working under ek..did he think infusing OTT drama will increase trp of this show when its competing with a stalwart like kumkum bhagya??

If he thought so,then it was foolish.

He should have put his foot down..they have a contract for 6 months minimum anyways..and maintained the uniqueness and freshness the show had instead of succumbing to trp pressure.there are many shows on the same channel which didn't not bow down to trp pressure and never disappointed the audience.

Waise bhi with all that ott drama..the trp hardly rose above 2..it was in 1.6-1.8 range every week.

Fans of the actors and the pair will sit through every track ofcourse..but many who signed up for a unique and fresh show quit the show the moment the show became unbearable and OTT and that's the reality.

Yes. There was balika vadhu also which ran for years and the content was good..and trps also. But didnt it have a nagging regressive saas? Torture on women , so much negativity around ..ott drama..with every serial therr will be some problem or the other. But the fact , majorly, a daily soap cant maintain a consistent storyline without butchering the characters.

In the past there have been some excellent shows , some worked some didnt but that doesnt mean the audience loves to watch negativity and we dismiss the whole population as regressive. That's a wrong way to look at it. It's easy to say take off yrkkh or anything like that..its getting high trps n they r making money ,why would they ? N I am the audience of that show from the last 10 yrs , on and off , I can say it's better than most of the shows on air ..if we fight over what is better , it's useless..khkt got good trps from first week itself ,there must be a reason..it hardly went above 2 except for a few weeks, there must be a reason..may be he can figure it out instead of saying regular crap works..tarak Mehta doesnt show regular crap howcome that one is at the top consistently? Shows other than saas bahu r also in top 10..may be he can introspect. The 3 or 4 weeks when sona was being tortured , the trps were consistently low. Only after the leap when there is some positivity its increasing .

In long running shows, they have an excellent run for a year or two after which the audience r hooked n thy watch anything then..its not just the negativity , a lot of factors contribute to the success of a show , to take it to this level.

And yess in kuch rang...there were no proper villans, ml didn't theew the fl out..she herself walked off, obsessed mother had a journey..her insecurities had reasons and it settled down, the mamma's boy had a journey...he understood that his mother cannot be always right, there were no plannings and plottings from the leads family, only one grey shaded char that created a mu between the leads...thats it!

I'm sorry,I understand that when fans invest themselves in the show and the show gets off air they feel terrible. But who is bashing KHKT fandom here? I don't get it. Instead it's the other way round, when someone expressed their opinion about the show and this interview,he/ she was instantly labelled as a hater.

As far as Sandip is concerned, in case you are referring to my comment,then I just had to. In the first few pages I saw of this thread, Sandip was hailed as some some sort of Messiah of good content in ITV and how he was wronged by the evil channel. Certainly that's not the case. If he was that much of a fan of " good content", he wouldn't have butchered YHM the way he did. And when few fans complained he replied them very indecently. He is definitely not a man worthy of respect.

And as others in the thread have already mentioned, I agree. He should have approached Sony for this show. Who is he fooling here? He knows very well how ITV works

Coz the topic of discussion was "only negativity works "..I just gave some examples where good shows also had negativity , it was appreciated by the audience but they didnt get trps ..... Some like balika vadhu got trps but that doesnt mean negativity only works and the audience loves regressive shows..it had good content... In khkt only negative tracks couldn't get trps . Like sona thrown out and the constant plotting against her. There r plenty of other reasons behind a hit show and a flop show. Nowhere am I bashing sikand or supporting sp. The audience preference was being discussed , across many pages.
