I get what he is saying and feel bad for him but honestly i have read these things before in different words. ITV does not cater to urban audience/youth. The only channel which does is Sony so if sandip really wanted to show something different then he should have pitched KHKT to Sony instead or made it into a webseries which is even better because then there would have been no concern over TRP at all.

WORD!! There is only one reason why every producer runs to StarPlus becos they pay the most and demand the most. Most PH think they will be able to meet the demand. It’s a rat race, Sickand knows it better than anyone else, he has been part of Ekta’s creative team for over 15 years. He knows this business in and out, Star itself is the most ruthless but they are also the best pay..their theory is simple...there i no limit on budget but things will start cutting when trps are not met. I am sorry to say but nothing in this show was hatke. In fact he followed the classic Ekta way - “get the audience to love the leads and everything will follow” which is what he did when he did shows for Ekta too... I am not impressed with this article at all. Maybe becos I have been here long enough, seen all this before. In fact, all auntijis I know who were watching this show stopped couple of months back. My mom actually said yeh kya dikha rahe hai surgeon ke baare mei kuch bhi...I think I mentioned this somewhere else.

Today Sony has some of the best shows on ITV becos they don’t look glamorous and the hero isn’t a dream boat but the writing is full on substance....

Well it was pretty stupid of him to take such a concept to starplus. The first part of this show (until ronakshi shadi, I stopped watching aftr that) was totally out of the starplus zone, it was more a sony type show & might hv survived there.

But then sony also has a track record of airing grt shows with new age concepts then inexplicably suddenly pulling the plug.

Basically there is no place for discerning viewers like us in ITV. Its only for nagin-dayan and saas-bahu ott drama lovers.

TBH, even though Sandiip keeps saying that he tried to bring a unique and realistic show, I can say with full conviction that he is lying and he knows it.

KHKT’s uniqueness was only about the FL being a TV actress. I don’t remember any show having a TV actress as FL. Apart from that, I don’t see what is so different in this show.
Most of the people here began watching only because of the scenes where Rohit lambasts the illogical content that TV shows. Sandiip pulled in online fans with such scenes but the rest of the show is still the usual TV content.
The BG and the light hearted scenes in the beginning is what drew me to this show. I really enjoyed the bonding between the Sippy family members.
But the honeymoon period didn’t last long. It all started with the wardrobe malfunction track. There was so much drama, more than what Incould bear. And then there was some inconsistencies in Rohit’s actions. I simply didn’t like that way he treated Sona that day.
And then the Raima track. Mother of coincidences track! Like I find it hard to believe that two people’s lives can be connected to this extent.
What were the odds that Sona were to be involved in an accident of Rohit’s gf Raima and then fall in love with the same Rohit four years down the line? What are the odds that Raina, who had been in coma for four years, wakes up on the very day when Rohit was to propose Sona. What were the odds that she ends up in the Sippy mansion at the very moment when Rohit is about to slide a ring into Sona’s fingers?!
Too much creative liberty I must say.
And then we had a rushed shadi track and Mahesh drama which was OTT right from day 1. There were so many loopholes in that track. The way Sona left her own wedding to shoot for her show without telling her own mother was ridiculous. First it is hard to believe that the PH will have only one copy of shot scenes. Second, isn’t the bride surrounded by her mother and sister during the wedding? In the show, Sona was left all alone in her room. Too much creative liberty again.

After marriage, things remained the same. They postponed the consummation in typical TV style. So much for being different!
So many tracks followed to prove that Sona is the ideal ITV bahu. The worst track was when Pooja’s truth came out and when Rohan’s affair was out in the open. The way Rohit treated Sona was so bad. How could he not trust his wife?
The same Rohit who didn’t trust Sona in all those instances suddenly began trusting her in Nishi’s matter. Inconsistent characterisation.
Let’s not even talk about how the whole Nishi track was. Typical TV content.

Despite all this, Sandy kept giving IVa that he is giving realistic content on par with web series. Such a joke!
And then blaming the channel for bringing drama. Isn’t that what all PHs are having to do? Everybody is showing drama only to survive just like how Sandy had to do the same.
So please, Sandy stop trying to paint yourself as the only victim. Everyone has to face the same problem as you do.

You know what this show's biggest thing is??!!

That despite it being sooo baaddd.. According to people like you... They chose to still watch it!!! They chose to watch it and even given such a detailed analysis..

This.. Your this comment itself shows what and how uniques of a show is KHKT.

Where even haters can't hate it!!!

Sometimes learn to appreciate efforts.. It will be better..

First I am no hater. If I was one, I wouldn’t be here.

Second, you should read before commenting. I have clearly told that it is a common tactic to pull audience with good scenes in the initial phase and then these fans find it difficult to stop watching. The same time is the case with me. I just keep watching in the hope that it would become better some day.

Just because I am a fan of what the show once was, doesn’t mean I can’t criticise the show it has become.

True that . They have to have drama in whatever they show ..the content was such but the characters were truly different for a period of time. Like I loved veena sending yks mom bec of her continuous plotting and aag lagana... . Sippy family was different before they were butchered . Suman was different , whether she was loved or hated..rohit stood by sona a lot of times , he didnt sometimes but his character was the best before he was butchered. Sona was also a better fl ..a good fl..somewhere sandip did try to create a balance but it didnt translate into chappad phaad trps . If he continued to keep light scenes instead of dramatic one,may be the result would be better..like kb is running solely bec of its comedy along with drama ..

I really loved the Sippy family so much. How the brothers stood for each other and how the women had self-respect.

Look at what they have been reduced to!

Exactly. only the first few episodes were interesting, otherwise it was just a typical ITV drama. This show has so many unnecessary characters and they weren’t even utilised properly. Sandip knows very well how the Indian tv industry works. So this article is just bollocks to me. Anything remotely different isn’t liked by audiences. Yes Sony has some good shows so maybe KHKT would have fared well there. But Sony has a history of abruptly pulling the plug on shows too.
