...are completely wrong in my opinion. But sadly, many Indian women think the same way because they have been conditioned to do so from a young age. They don't even see anything wrong with the demand to give up their job because words like adjust and compromise are constantly thrown at them. I don't think any Indian men grow up with these words in their vocabulary.

But giving up your job is no minor adjustment, it is a major change in one's life and Sona is stupid to even consider it especially just to please a narrow minded idiot. I wonder if any man has ever been asked to give up his job or change his profession by his in-laws because they didn't find it suitable and they are worried about what people will say. Who decides what is suitable and what isn't? So being a doctor is a noble and respectable profession but an actress job is not worthy of respect?

Sona talked about how she felt bad that her family was getting affected by her job. Again, conditioning ..women are conditioned to put others ahead of themselves esp after marriage. When will they ever learn to give priority to their own needs and desires?

I expected better from her...she has such a strong and fierce example of womanhood in her mother, who has done so much on her own as a single mother and doesn't take crap from anybody. But no, she wants to let go of her position that she has worked so hard for, in her desire to be loved and accepted by every single person in the Sippy household. As a much married woman, I can tell you, this love and acceptance from every single family member never happens. It's just not possible. There will be some people that you have issues with or they have issues with you. You ignore it and move on. You don't go around making major sacrifices to make things easier. Because it will start with one thing, and continue to other things and it never ends.

If they don't show Sona getting back to work, that will be a terrible message sent by this show.

I would like her to realise on her own that she took a hasty decision and that she wants to get back to acting. I don't want Rohit or anyone else to do this for her.

Seriously Sona's character is irritating ... she does things first, as soon as possible, before anyone could oppose and then goes about justifying it. To be honest, I don't think Rohit should even shout at Naren for Sona giving up her work. Sona is totally responsible - she's an adult, has taken a conscious decision. This might be a mess or a beautiful new life that she is imagining it would be .... but I hope she understands later that it was her call. She can't be binary all the time ... I loved what Rohit told today the difference between adjustment and sacrifice. It would have made more sense if she had gone ahead and shown her displeasure to Netra for looping Rohit in and getting her do the rain dance she had initially refused. Does she think Naren is going to be happy with her quitting KPK?! He's definitely going to taunt her for being unemployed and next day she'll go find herself a job.

Very nice post 👏 I agree with it but at the end of the day, sona wont quit , it's her journey..if she does , it will send out a wrong message...quitting or not quitting due to any reason should be her choice. A woman does adjust and compromise and men are not asked to , I loved this thought ..

Exactly.. Sona has become so irritating and Gopi Bahu. Which real actress even think like this? I totally agree with you about approval from in laws. First it is job then your each opinion will bother them. Once women leave jobs they are no more financially independent and are at the mercy of in laws.

instead of showing independent woman who will take care of her family even after marriage this show is glorifying another regressive mentality.

Yes I don't understand why she always takes decisions without discussing with any one, not just for herself but on behalf of others too! She seems to feel all the responsibility is on her to decide everything and take action. She takes hasty unilateral decisions that have major effects. And yeah her justification of her decisions is so irritating..it was so ironic when she was telling Suman to let her and Rohit sort it out as it is their matter! Sona pls take your own advice first and stop interfering in other people's personal matters!

And thank God Suman called Rohit. Otherwise I don't know when she was planning to tell.

As a female myself I believe a woman should be independent, education and employment are a way to that.... Giving up this is unjust to your own self..

You said it right, no matter how successful a woman is she adjusts the most. A girl is groomed from her teens to be perfect in her kitchen, the degree is only to get her married into an educated family, if she's 30 and single then that's entirely different issue.

Sona needs to stand up for herself, Ro is verrrrrrry understanding but this is something Sonakshi's should do.
