Even in YHM Alu, Ishita’s mom had that accent and so did a couple of them from her family. But tell u what, some South Indians who have lived in Mumbai or Delhi for a long time speak Hindi like any North Indian. U can’t even make out they are a South Indian. I am not saying they are discriminating intentionally but be it in movies or TV shows I have seen this happening.
I know I know.. I stay at Hyderabad.. I have many of my telegu friends who speak amazing hindi..
I agree in yhm ishita's mom did have that accent and so a couple of others in the show... But the thing is the show's main lead was shown having a way better hindi potraying a tamil family.. That was breaking stereotype.. Nd telling ki it's how much one speaks a language that much they get better in it.. Language is something like the more you speak in it... The more it gets better..
Cmg to movies... movie directors jaise Rohit shetty.. Oh! What amazing hindi he speaks.. Nd even actor sunil shetty and even deepika padukone, sreedevi ji... They speak/spoke marvellous hindi.. Rohit shetty directed chennai express and there he chose to give deepika padukone that accent knowing very well it's not like that , so sometimes it's the characters demand..
Cmg to this character yashwant here.. This guy had to ne potrayed a little uneducated and stuff like that.. And if they would have shown him speaking sophisticated high class hindi... It wouldn't match up with few categories of audiences... Aisa socho ki uski language kamzori.. Imagine him speaking English out of the blue...😆
