What would you do in Sonakshi's place

This is a very situational question. Please think and answer. In laws might or might not be reasonable, we might want or not want to adjust. Adjustment might or might not be based on how in laws treat us. So the question is, what would you do in her shoes?

While acting is her identity, she feels there has been no peace of mind for the house members and herself, since marriage. Fed up of this emotional turmoil, she takes this drastic step. Whether it's worth it or not for the in laws might also influence our decision, but considering we'll have to spend our entire life in that house, friction and fights are not what we'd want, so what do we choose?

Good morning ! Thank you for a very thought provoking and a difficult dilemma in any girl/woman' life. Whether we like it or not, most of us will have to face this dilemma and answer it for ourselves.

T, these are strictly my opinions only. First off, when the same scenario is presented to a Y chromosome vs a X chromosome, we get very different responses. I am not belittling anybody, but we just have to accept the fact that we are simply hardwired differently. So as a woman, we have to face a lot of guilt no matter what we choose. If she continues to work and the disgusting FIL continues to throw his tantrums, she has to feel guilty. If she gives up and sees her colleagues reaching new heights or if she starts feeling lost ( believe me , she will feel lost after a brief honeymoon phase ), she will feel guilty. So, we better get comfortable with guilt and choose what our heart and head wants BUT have to think coolly. It is not a spur of the moment's decision as Sona made in this case. She needs to thoroughly vet her decision, by running it by people who matter in her life, her husband and mom and think through the consequences. She spoke with neither and is making an emotional decision for a quick fix.

As unreasonable as this FIL guy is, what if he starts accusing her to be a parasite on a rich cardiac surgeon when he sees her staying home doing nothing. The guy is simply a insufferable and a fickle boor😡, probably represents some FILs in real life. In my opinion, no decision should be taken for the sole purpose of cajoling this guy. He simply doesn't deserve her attention. The more attentive she is, the more tantrums he will throw.

Mili has said everything above, which I wished to say in this regard. True, its not easy to take decision in this situation for a female because it is either she has to feel bad. But if you still have to be at receiving end only then why not after listening to your heart and do what it says esp when your husband has no problem with it. Not that if your husband has problem with your job, you should leave it. You should definitely try to convince him. Tell him that how deeply you are connected with what you do. Anyways here question is not of husband's disapproval but in laws Infact only FIL. So in my opinion, if I were Sons and my hubby is as supportive as Rohit then I definitely will continue to do what I am doing right now. And as far as about convincing FIL, I will try a few times but later I will leave it to my hubby and my MIL. They know better how to handle him.

I would continue living my life just as I always have and continue working. Isn't that what Rohit is doing? I dont see any demands being made on him to give up anything. Then why should sona make such drastic changes in her life because her narrow minded FIL cant deal with the nature of her profession? What goes for the man, goes for the woman too.

Hahah i definitely do this. Search online for life solutions. Most of the time, useless effort.

As ridiculous as it would sound but to me a more practical aspect would be to change my profession though not my field given the amount of experience I would have in this field. I would anyways not be acting as parvati all my life. I would surely not be happy with the show nor the role. I would have been doing it for the basics of roti kapda aur makaan. So had I been in place of Sonakshi I would have used my acting skills on this ridiculous FIL and asked him to fund my next business venture a show of my own perhaps, may be a digital platform or something of the sorts. My point here is if I were Sonakshi I would have started looking for future prospects long back, prospects that even as an actor would be more challenging more rewarding craft wise also and financially also. So with Sippys funds to back me up I would rather take up things like production or even direction, but that is because I believe that as a show lead actor you have a small shelf life not because my FIL does not wants me to do intimate scenes.

There are definitely some useless comments / advices... But it gives a feeling we are not the only ones facing the situation. Also when you come across an advice that's honest and a different pov, if it were from a person, I might be biased and discard it immediately... but coming from a website, makes it all the more easier to digest.
