As they said, every character has a back story. So slowly they will start revealing the differences within the family too.
And they seem real hung up on money, so money ke upar bhi issues honge.
People wont watch if there is no spice and its all goody goody like a Rajshri film. Even Rajshri films have negative characters.
Its unrealistic to expect shows to not have villains if they want the show to go on for years. Once Rohit-Sonakshi resolve their differences and get married then what? They cant keep showing everyone going about their work everyday and being happy all the time.
Bold- That's exactly what I mean to say. As long as the differences stem out of actual problems rather than a meaningless harmful villain, then it's good. There should be a realistic touch to it rather than the unrealistic feels that the usual Saas Bahu shows give. Monetary issues if dealt wisely can give the plotline a good spurt.
Having grey characters is as important in a daily soap as having the leads. However, spice may not necessarily be added by making characters negative out of the blue without clearly justifying their actions. If they are successful in portraying a character as grey by providing genuine and believable reasons then I'm all for it. Till now, the way they have handled the MeToo issue with Sumit is believable and realistic. Sonakshi hasn't completely spoken off against him in the public because not everyone is brave or courageous enough to risk their career and personality. I'm sure in future they'll show Sonakshi coming out clean in the public soace about Sumit's ways of harassing her in the workspace. It's a gradual development in the plot that makes it believable. Too many negative characters often tend to make a story crass. As long as the makers are able to justify the story well inspite of having many negative characters, then it's all good.
Honestly, I would prefer a show with a good storyline rather than a show that goes on for years stretching the story by introducing unnecessary negative characters. A finite series can also give a show the chance to justify itself well by sticking to what its stands for when it started and still make it memorable in the minds of the audiences.
