Tbh as much as I don’t like the character Akriti, I don’t think Riya is wrong here. The makers changed the plot entirely from every other version. I don’t think they should be even calling it a remake anymore!
At the beginning Akriti did plan with Maya to break AnuGun’s wedding and that’s about it. The rest of the damage was done by bade papa and Anushit himself. Akriti didn’t have to plot much. She didn’t blackmail Anushit or force him. ANUBHAV WILLINGLY MARRIED AKRITI AFTER HE ‘MARRIED’ GUNGUN FIRST. NO ONE FORCED HIM. He did all this on his own. If he really loved GG or was a honest/ loyal person he wouldn’t have married Akriti. So, after marrying Akriti he is fully cheating on her and lying to her and family. His confusing/ manipulating GG and calling her his wife. So, that justifies the way Akriti is acting. Any newly wed wife would be jealous or upset if her husband is running and caring after another girl so much. Specially who was his ex-fiancé.
As for her hatred towards GG that’s justifiable too. We don’t know the full story behind Garima and her husband, other than the guy cheating on her. But we do know Akriti’s dad probably brain washed her ( so, that’s not Akriti’s fault). So, Akriti is being shown that her mother left her and she loves GG more. So, I think any daughter shown that lens would feel jealous that someone else is getting her mother’s love and attention and not her.
Just my 2 cents 😊
Unpopular opinion but I kinda agree with her.
Things that Akriti has done:
Been rude to her mom
Slapped Gungun
Proposed to Anubhav and then continued to harass/ pester him to reciprocate her feelings
Plotted with Maya (though here all she did was lie about her relationship with Anu and gave a few K weak points)
That's it I think (lemme know if there are others)
AnuGun ka rishta khud Anubhav and Ks ne break kiya.
Akriti ko bahu bhi Ks ne banaya
Akriti se shaadi ko haa Anu ne ki knowing she is in love with him so will expect full real marriage with all rights and entitlements.
Gungun se shaadi karke, after declaring she is his wife, Akriti se pure samaaj and pariwar k saamne fully legal wedding Anubhav ne ki
And Anubhav is the one now trying to have an emotional affair with Gungun and getting annoyed that Akriti his actual legally wedded wife is trying to get involved in his life
She can clearly see that Anubhav is upto something and wants to find out what it is. And that is her right.
Of course she is mean to Gungun and very annoying at times to us (who are Team Gungun) but that doesn't make her the villain.
She is actually completely justified in her actions after the wedding. It is Anubhav who is wrong here. And this is all because of the makers who have made this into such a stupid plot where the third angle is the main lead now 🙄
Can we really blame the actress/character for it then?

yup, totally agreed. I said the same thing too. I don’t think Akriti is the villain here, at least until now. She didn’t blackmail Anushit like Ronnie is doing to GG. So far the makers haven’t done anything to make her negative. Anubhav is enough on his own to ruin his relationship. One minute he calls GG his wife and the next he claims Akriti is his wife. The makers have totally ruined his character. If anything, Anubhav and the Kshit family should be villains/negative characters.
Though I agree that Akriti is not a villian to the extend of Ronnie or Anu she is still a vamp in the making.
She did her bit in breaking up the alliance. She has her own justification for doing that and i understand and accept those. Anu never did make any claim that his proposed marriage to GG was driven by love and she did know about the one year contract too. She might have noticed the growing attraction between AnGun, but decided to ignore it. Coz yeah, may be all is fair in love and war.
What irritates me most is her obsessive rivalry towards GG. She never leaves a chance to show GG in bad light. What makes me hate her is her utter lack of sympathy towards GG after her father passed away. She should have empathized with GG coz in a way her back ground was similar to GG's abandoned by mother and adored by the father. She was totally indifferent, and acted nice only for the sake of appearances. On top of that she kept nagging a tormented girl about her husband at every chance she got.
Had the situation been reversed, would she have reacted the way GG did... Would she give up Anu for her sister if he had put sindor on her first and then married GG? Would she have driven Anu away even after he claimed he considered her his wife? So yeah, though she may be right in asserting her wifely rights, and a lower level evil than Ronnie and Anu she is still a grey character. I am sure we will see her grey deepening to black very soon as a means to take the spotlight of Anu's actions away . Though I wonder how, coz his decisions were his own no one forced it upon him.
Soon she will turn to a money minded person who will break up the happy, traditional joint family of K's. She might become the ambitious wife who wants to share the fame of her husband's achievements and push him to take up a job abroad. But then it would only be poetic justice for many of us.
Iski kya galti
Makers giving her scenes where she can act as wife 🤢
But just because she thinks Aakriti is positive makes her acting more realistic.

I'm sorry but I despise actors who can't call out their characters. Don't say I am white when your character clearly isn't!!
There is a way to even justify your characters actions. I understand having to understand ones character in order to better act but there is also your own moral compass... Manan had a similar interview where he balanced the understanding and objectivity well.
Expected better from Riya

Yes, that's exactly what I felt. There's a way you can be objective about your character and yet not throw the PH under the bus publicly. Everyone knows Akriti is negative - Riya did too when she signed up for this role. Why say something as stupid as "she's not negative, she just hates Gungun". Lol!
Maybe she's a wonderful method actor, always in character - delusional, you know! 🤪

same!! I can’t stand her. The character is so bad and the actress ain’t very good either.

But ek tarika hota hai... like I said in my previous comment here, I understand having to 'support' or understand ones character in order to play them. However, you can't blatantly call your character innocent/positive when they have done very questionable things.
There is a way to put across your characters side without compromising on a morality level. Point in case is Manan's articles from a few days ago. It was a very subtle 'I hate Anubhav too, but I am not the script writer'. Riya could have done something similar instead of advocating for Akriti as a character. Because that makes everyone question how she is as a person... when you are in thi industry you words are crucial. Things like this are not (and rightly so) taken well.
I have linked an article below. Coincidentally from my other show, a character (very loved) took a negative turn. Below is the actors response to the same. Yes, this is a very blatant 'I don't like the PH's decision' but Riya could have been much more subtle. Aishwarya from Ghum is mainly hated on for the very same reason.
Acceptance is what is lacking, ego is shining through in the article. That is where the problem lies.
