I think esa kuch hoga...i mean maybe kukki gang says something to Netra and Shashank stays silent because someone is already saying something...if we are still going to have her leave the house as separation track then some sort of major MU has to happen...

Even if it's just a dream, I'm hoping that today's episode stops with Shappu moments...whatever fight or Appu leaving can come in the 201 episode...Let's see what happens!

Part 1: Start of Something New

Apurva Vartak was bored as she was looking at the students coming into the campus. Her gang of “friends” were trying to look through the freshers and pick someone to “inaugurate” into the college. There were times when she was really irritated with them and she knew that they were more or less with her only because she of her rich family. She didn’t really have a choice though because she didn’t fit in with the other groups of their year. She wasn’t athletic or traditional and she most definitely wasn’t studious, so she was left with no choice but to have her pretend friends around her. The worst of course was Krish, just another member of the gang, who really wants to be her BF, both for her money and so that he can claim the most beautiful girl in the college as his GF.

Shashank Kanetkar, on the other hand, was a very no-nonsense, serious, and studious person. He was the topped of his year and unless required by professors, he talked to exactly 5 other students: his best friends, Amey and Nikhil and their fiancé and GF, Mansi and Sumi, respectively, with the fifth student being his little sister Prachi. It’s not that he thinks of himself as superior to them. He just liked to focus on his education more and hated all the chaos most students create. But the problem was that almost all the girls in the college had a crush on him, because he was very cute and very respectful. They didn’t know exactly how strict he could be.

Shashank and Appu have been in the same college for the past 4 years but while Shashank was a science major, Appu was Arts major. They’ve crossed each others pathways, with some minor tiffs along the way because of their opposing personalities. Every argument that happens between them is fueled more by Krish and Netra. While Krish wanted to be Appu’s BF for social status, Netra had an obsessive crush on Shashank, which most of the college knew about except for the oblivious guy in question. The 4 years went by with arguments and fights and parties and exams and now it was time for their final year projects.

It was the order of the Dean, Vinayak Rao, and Vice-Principal of the college, Vidya Bhaskar, that all students had to complete both a science and arts project to complete their 4th year. And this is where things really changed in the school.

For their science project this year, Vinayak Rao decided that after the past 2 years of pandemic, he wanted the students to understand the value of humans more. So he invited Dr. Kaushik Vartak to the college as a guest lecturer for the last 6 weeks and to assign the students a science project on human body. Everybody was excited for this different project as they have heard and met Dr. Kaushik before, since he was Appu’s dad.

Scene: Dr. Kaushik’s class

Dr. Kaushik: Good morning, students. Mein tum logon ki final year ki science project ko supervise karunga. Project actually bahut simple hai. Mere paas kuch 3D models hai that will show the development of a baby from conception to birth. Matlab it will show when the hair forms, when the nails form, when the organs start to develop and all of that, from the cell level to the live baby level. Tum logon ka kaam ye hai ki you will observe these changes over the next 4 weeks. Jo development reality mein 1 month mein hota hain voh tum log 3 din mein dekhogi. So you will have this fetus for 27 days total and tumhara kaam ye hai ki you have to note all these changes and relate it to cellular biology. Ye bahut expensive models hai so I’m going to group everyone into pairs for this project, since we have equal number of males and females in the class.

Netra: Sir, ye fair nahin hoga. I mean to say ki sab jaante hai ki aap Apurva ki father hai and we all know ki Apurva science mein weak hai, so aap toh usse toppers ke saath pair karenge right so she doesn’t fail.

Dr. Kaushik: I know very well how to keep my personal and professional problems aside Netra but for everybody’s peace of mind, hum ek kaam karte hai. saare girls ka naam se chit banate hain. And the boys will pick out a name from the hat. Ye fair hoga right? It will be completely up to chance then.

Netra thinking: I’m sure Shashank will pick my name, because we are meant to be together. Aur phir iss baby ko observe karte karte mein usse close hojaungi. It will be like a real family, mom, dad, and baby.

After everyone agrees and the pool of names were prepped, the boys started to pick their partners. Some liked their pairs, some tolerated them, and some loved them. For example, Amey and Mansi were excited for this project, where as Nikhil and Sumi were shy with each other as it made their relationship seem even more real. Netra on the other hand hated it as ended up paired with Krish, but was really infuriated her was that Shashank ended up picking Appu!

Shashank: What? Apurva Vartak? No ways. Sir please can I change my partner? Mujhe iske saath kaam nahin karna hai.

Appu: Oh hello! Even I don’t want to work with you! Tumhara jese Khadus ke saath kon kaam karna chatha hai?

Dr. Kaushik: Enough! This was a fair way to pick partners toh yeh pair final hai. Figure out a way to work together! Varna mein tum dono ko fail kardunga.

Both: Kya?

Appu: Par Baba.—

Dr. Kaushik: No, yeha pe me sirf Professor hu. Work together or fail together, that’s your only options.

Even after more arguments, they have no choice but to be stuck together for the next 4 weeks. They both decided to just deal with it and created a schedule where they would share the model as much as possible so that they could do their observations by themselves. What they didn’t know was that their day and their next couple weeks were about to get even worse, in their point of view at least.

Scene: College Auditorium

Vinayak Rao: OK Seniors! Tum sab ko tumhara science project mil gaye hai. As for the arts project, this year hum kuch alag karenge. All the seniors are going to perform a play for us. Aur isse direct karenge humare Drama King Mr.Vikas.

The students were ecstatic about the idea, because it wasn’t often that their Dean allowed them to do such silly things and they knew that Mr.Vikas, or Kukki, as everyone called him, was one of the coolest teachers in the college!

Kukki: Thank you sir! Aur iss project keliye aapne jo itna bada budget of 2 lakhs sanction kiya uskeliye bhi thank you! Alright guys, before we get into the play, let me introduce my assistant, Aparna aur spot boy Chintya and iss play keliye music denge Vittu Sir!

Student: Are sir, par play kya hai? Aur hum sabko kya karna hai?

Kukki POV:

Ok so play bahut simple hai. Hum Cinderella story dikhane wale hai, par with a small Indian twist. Aur auditions ki koi zarurat bhi nahin hai because I already chose the people for the main roles. Jiske naam mein nahin lunga voh log extras ki tarah rehenge but main story will be held by these people. Jab me aapke naam bulata hun, come on to the stage.

Amey and Nikhil: you will be the rats that are turned into footmen

Krish: you will be the horse that takes Cinderella to the ball

Mansi and Sumi: you will be the evil stepsisters

Netra: you will be the evil stepmother

Ab Prince Charming ki father aur Fairy godmother ki roles keliye koi elder person chayye so I will play Prince Charming’s father aur Fairy godmother banegi hamari Suvarna Ma’am.

And now for the main lead roles. Drumrolls please, kyunki mujhe pata hai bahut bada bomb blast hone wala hai.

Prince Charming ki role karega hamari Scholar Shashank aur Cinderella ki role karegi hamari pyaari Apurvaaa!!

Shashank and Appu: KYA?????

Part 2: Going, going, gone

The college thought WW 3 was about to start with the way Shashank and Apurva fought for the next few days. They yelled at each other and begged Kukki and even went to the Vice-Principal Vidya and the Dean to request a change in roles but no one agreed. The only response they were met with was either do or we will fail you! And so now the both of them were stuck together for the next few weeks with both of their projects.

The Science project was easier to manage. Even before the play was announced, they had decided to take turns with taking the model every other day and would meet each day for no more than 5 minutes to hand each other their share of notes. Of course this was followed by many complaints from Appu for having to do so much work and Shashank for having to do his project based off her notes. But in the end, they decided that this was the best way to tolerate each other.

Now that the play was also in place, their brilliant plan went up in flames. With the help of his more favorite students (Amey and Nikhil), Kukki managed to drag Shashank to the stage and made him practice with Appu.

Initially, everyone thought they would have to deal with a lot of fights, which did happen and poor Chintya had to dodge some flying shoes and fake tree branches and candles as they threw them around in their fights. But where there is Kukki, waha problem ki solution nakki! He made sure that either the VP or the Dean were present at every single rehearsal, so the fights lessened and they gritted their teeth and worked together.

What no one could deny was the sizzling chemistry between the two! As they were practicing the ballroom dance, everyone’s eyes were stuck to them. It looked like they were looking at one of those snow globes with a dancing couple inside! Slowly but surely, Shashank and Appu began to tolerate each other more and more. They still yelled and fought but at least Chintya was spared from playing target practice for the flying objects and the fights were more in jest than true quarrels.

Of course, the only people not happy with the development were Netra and Krish! It also didn’t help that they were caught in an embarrassing situation few days back.

Flashback

Since they couldn’t stand to see Shashank and Appu getting closer, they decided to meet up in an empty classroom to figure out a plan. Unfortunately for them, they were caught laying on the floor together with Krish on top of Netra. (What really happened was that Netra was tripping on her saree and dragged Krish down with her, but nobody cared to listen). The worst part was that they were caught by the Vidya Ma’am who immediately called their parents. After their parents came to know of what happened, they didn’t listen to their explanations, mainly because neither Krish nor Netra could actually tell anyone why they were meeting alone in the classroom. But it looked like luck wasn’t in their favor that day, as both their fathers somehow started a conversation of business and decided that getting Netra and Krish married would benefit both of their businesses. And so, before they could even realize what was happening and do something to stop it, Netra and Krish found themselves engaged to each other!!

End of Flashback

But this didn’t stop their plans and the anger only increased as they saw that Shashank and Appu were getting even closer to each other and started to laugh together.

Finally, their science projects had ended and of course, Shashank and Appu passed it with flying colors. Netra and Krish decided to set their plan in motion.

Netra: Hello, Shashank.

Shashank: Hi, Netra. Congratulations on your engagement. I’m happy for you.

Netra gritting her teeth in anger: Thank you. Actually, I came to tell you something that Krish informed me of.

Shashank: Kya?

Netra: Voh, you know how you were telling me few days ago that you were surprised ki Apurva ne puri project ache se kiya aur sari notes bhi sahi thi?

Shashank: Haan, that’s true. Mujhe nahin laga voh itna ache se kar payegi but her share of the work was very good.

Netra: That’s the problem, she didn’t do the work. Krish said ki uski gang mein ek student ne saara kaam kiya aur notes sab ne share kardiya.

Shashank: No, that can’t be possible. Apurva wouldn’t lie to me like that. Usne kaha ki usne khud saara kaam kiya.

Netra: Sorry Shashank, mein toh sirf voh bol rahi hu jo mujhe pata hai or voh joh Krish ne khud kaha. And you know right, Krish and Apurva have the same groups of friends.

Netra walked away smirking leaving Shashank in deep thoughts about whether Netra’s words were true or not. Krish was also doing his part with Appu at the same time.

Krish: Hey Appu!

Appu: Hi Krish! What’s up?

Krish: You tell me! Yeh Shashank kya bol raha hai sab ko?

Appu: Matlab?

Krish: Netra ne mujhe kaha ki Shashank is going around saying tum bahut lazy ho aur bas ek rich dad ki spoiled beti ho kyunki pura project usse karna pada.

Appu: KYA?

Krish: Aur bhi bahut kuch tha apparently, par mein voh sab nahin bol paunga.

Appu: Nahin, voh esa nahin bol saktha.

Krish: Are mujhe Netra ne kaha, aur voh dekho they are even talking together right now.

He then leaves Appu to her thoughts.

They knew that their plan to cause differences had worked because the next day at final rehearsals, they could see Shashank and Appu fighting like they used at the beginning.

Part 3: Surprise!

Kukki, Amey, Nikhil, Mansi, and Sumi knew that something had happened between them. They tried to talk to them and get them back to the laughing friends like they were for the past 3 weeks but it wan’t working. And to make matters worse, it was affecting their previously perfect performances in the play. Finally having had enough, the gang decided to end things their way and under the advice of Kukki, Amey and Nikhil and Mansi and Sumi kidnapped Shashank and Appu respectively.

They brought them to a classroom and then Kukki locked the door from the inside to prevent anyone from leaving under the problem was solved.

Kukki: Ab bolo kya hua tum dono ke beech?

Shashank: Mujhe kuch nahin bolna hai. I don’t want to work with liars thats it.

Appu: Ha! Dekho toh kaun bol raha hai. Lies are wrong par sabko meri buriyan karna sahi hai?

Shashank: Meine tumhari koi burai nahi ki. Tum khud apni karvarahi ho, by being friends with idiots like Krish and your gang.

Appu: Acha, jese tumhari Netra better hai. Don’t forget voh bhi Krish ke saath ek classroom mein akele thi and now they are getting married.

Amey: Are ek minute! Kya bol rahi ho tum dono? Kuch samaj nahin aaraha hai.

Shashank: Baat bahut simple hai Amey. Apurva Vartak is a liar. Maine uspe trust kiya and in fact sabko dikhe esa comment bhi kiya that meine uski social media par. But she just betrayed my trust and lied to me.

Appu: Jhoot! Sab Jhoot hai! I didn’t lie about anything. Aur tumne social media pe comment kiya but real life mein toh sab ko yeh bol rahi ho ki I’m lazy and spoiled right?

Shashank: Kya? maine esa kuch nahin kaha. Mein tumhare baare mein esa kyu bolunga?

Appu: Tumne kaha tha. Krish ne mujhe sab bataya ki tum Netra se kya kya bol raha tha mere baare mein. How dare you? Maine itni hardwork kiya humare project keliye just because mein nahin chathi thi ki meri wajah se tumhari marks kum ho. Aur tum sab ko ye bol rahi ho ki pura project tumne kiya tha aur mein bus ek spoiled rich girl hu?

Shashank: Ek minute, I never said that. In fact mein khud yeh dekhar surprised tha ki tumne kitna kaam kiya but Netra told me that your whole group of friends just cheated off each other.

Suddenly, their inactive brains turned on and they realized that they were both lied to. And the gang watching around them also realized that this whole misunderstanding between them was caused by Netra and Krish. After a moment, both Shashank and Appu said sorry to each other and went back to their friendly relationship. The final rehearsals were done with some changes because Kukki decided that he needed to teach his more unruly students a lesson.

Scene:Play

It was the day of the play and also their last day in the college before the farewell party the next day. Most people came to watch just out of formality for the seniors but they weren’t interested because it was a well-known fairy tale, but they didn’t know about the twists Kukki had decided to add to it.

The curtains opened and the play started like the original. Cinderella (Appu) was working in the kitchen scrubbing dishes, washing clothes, and making food for her step-family. Her friends were the two rats that she hid in the kitchen (Amey & Nikhil). She had no choice but to find friendship in animals since the only humans she was allowed to be in contact with were her step-sisters (Mansi & Sumi) and of course her stepmother (Netra). The three women were getting ready for the ball and after giving a long list of chores for Cinderella to do, they left for the ball.

Cinderella was doing her chores wishing to go to the ball when suddenly a fairy appeared in front of her (Sua). She changed her clothes and turned her rats into footmen, and turned the cat that usually stayed by her stepmother into a horse (Krish) that would pull her small carriage to the ball. Cinderella went to the ball and had a blast with Prince Charming (Shashank) but had to run at the stroke of midnight leaving behind her ring!

As the usual story goes, he finds her eventually and they are about to get married. But don’t forget that this is happening in India though shaadi would happen with pandit and everything. This was actually Kukki’s idea. He wanted to make sure that Netra and Krish see Shashank and Appu having fun with each other and getting married, even if it was fake with Chintya playing the pandit. That’s the change he made last minute yesterday. But Netra is an oversmart idiot.

As soon as she heard Kukki’s new idea, she began to plot. On the day of the play, she hit poor Chintya over the head and hid him away in her green room and replaced him with a real pandit. As the wedding sequence was happening, she made Appu unconscious with some chloroform and took her place as the bride with a long ghunghat and everything. As they went through the rituals for the wedding, she got more and more excited that she was almost running through the pheres. Once Prince Charming put the “mangalsutra” around her neck, she jumped up and removed her veil and started screaming “I’m married to my love” while dancing all around the stage!

The whole auditorium was in shock! But the worst was Kukki and the gang, and their shock got worse as they saw Chintya walking onto the stage holding his head.

Chintya: Mujhe kisine maara!!! Aur voh asli pandit hai!

Everyone: KYA?

Now, everyone was worried for Shashank as he stood frozen with the sehra still on his face, as Netra continued to dancing all around the stage! Just then, Shashank entered the stage from his dressing room also holding his head.

Shashank: are koi roko shaadi ko! He sees the scene before him but misses Netra as she was still dancing around the set. OH NO!

Kukki: Shashank?? Tum vaha ho toh yeha kon hai?

Just then Appu enters the stage too, running to stop whatever was going on and Shashank sees her.

Shashank: Apurva? Tum yaha ho toh dulhan kon bana?

Everyone: HO KYA RAHA HAI?

Finally stopping but doesn’t see Shashank, Netra: I will tell you! Finally, meri shaadi mera pyaar se hogayi! Ye pandit bhi asli tha, phere bhi asli toh ab shaadi bhi real hai! Aur koi kuch nahin kar sakta!

Appu: Ek min! Shashank, tum yaha ho toh dulha kon hai?

Amey runs towards the frozen dulha and lifts his sehera!

Everyone: KRISH?!?!?!

Looks like krish also had the same idea as Netra to slyly get married to Appu using this opportunity but cunning minds think alike so Netra and Krish got married to each other with their stupidity.

Made for each other!

Someone: Kya bakwas story hai ye?

Kukki: Bakwas?

DK: Nahin tho kya. Ek stupid si college play keliye 2 lakh kon spend karta hai? Paisa kya jhada lagtat?

Mai: Aur Vikas, Mai kaha hu iss kahani mein? Tumne ne toh mere naam liya hi nahin.

DK: Tumhara college mein kya kaam hai?

Mai: Aap phirse mujhe bol raha hai?

Sua Aai: Oho, Dada, Mai, please ladna band karo na. Vese Kukki bhauji mujhe mere role pasand aaya ha.

Vittu Baba: Tujhe apna role pasand ayega na. Ye tumhara ladla devar jo hai. Par kya re Vikas? Mujhe music teacher bana diya par mujhe ek gaana tak gaane nahin diya. Bas keh diya ki mein music teacher aur baat khatam kardi?

Aparna: Aur mujhe bhi, bas keh diya ki mein aap ki assistant hu aur baat khatam?

Kukki: Are Mai aap story mein hai na, aap Dada ki biwi jo ho, matlab college ki asli malkin. Aur Vittu Da, Panna, mujhe tum dono ke roles bas vahi tak thik laga ha.

Mai: Kya? Ab mujhe story mein bhi iss kanjoos ki biwi banke rehna hoga. Nahin nahin.

DK: Kanjoos nahin hu main. Aur mujhe bhi tum jese buddi ke saath nahin rehna.

Mai & DK leave the family room fighting as usual with Sua Aai, Vittu Baba, and Aparna following them to mediate. Kukki turns towards the youngsters to find them all staring or more like glaring at him.

Kukki: Kya hua? Tum logon ko story pasand nahin aaya kya?

Appu: Mujhe pasand aaya na! Bahut acha tha!

Prachi: Ha kyunki story mein Baba ne tume ache role diya na Appu isliye. Baba ne toh mujhe bhul hi gaya. Mein aapki ki beti hun, just to remind you!

Mansi: Are acha hua ki tume bhul gaya Prachu. Varna tume bhi humare tara evil stepsisters banata!

Sumi: Kukki, hum dono tume kis angle se itni ghatiya lagte hai.

Amey: Are shukar karo, tum dono ko kamse kam insaan tho rehne diya.

Nikhil: Nahin toh kya. Hum dono ko direct chuya bana diya.

Kukki: Are voh sab story ka demand tha. Aur meine tum logon ko story mein nahin sirf play mein esa roles diya.

Sumi: Galti humari hai. Aage se hum kabhi bhi entertainment keliye Kukki ko story sunane kho nahin kahengi.

Sumi leaves the room annoyed with Kukki, followed by Amey, Nikhil, Mansi, and Prachi.

Kukki: Are thank you. At least tum dono ko tho meri story ki value pata hai, Shashank, Appu.

Shashank: Value? itna bakwass story meine aaj tak nahin suna.

Appu: Khadus!

Shashank: Kya? Esa konsa college hota hai jaha par students ko arts aur science dono karna pade? Aur konsi college ki students Cinderella ka play karenge ha? Total bakwas tha!

Appu: Are Khadus, apna thoda sa imagination use karo na!

Kukki: Exactly! Hum jo real life mein nahin karsate hain, usse hum story mein karte hain. Ab meine story mein se Netra aur Krish kho tum dono ki zindagi se nikal di ki nahin.

Appu: Correct hai Kukki.

Shashank: Acha, matlab Appu tumhari story mein hardworking hai, matlab yeh ki real life mein Apurva nahin hai right?

Appu: Kukki! Tum mere baare mein esa sochte hu. Ab toh mein bhi tumse baat nahin karungi.

Appu also leaves the room, ignoring Kukki calling after her. Kukki turns to see Shashank standing behind him with a smirk.

Kukki: Yeh kya kiya tune?

Shashank: Revenge tha yeh. Tumne mujhe tumhari story mein acha role diya. Par har bar jo tum mere aur Apurva ke beech aati hu aur mujhe tease karti hu na. Uska revenge hai yeh!

As Shashank too leaves, Kukki is left alone in the room and talking to himself.

Kukki: Inn logon ko toh creativity ki kadhar hi nahin hai. Inn sab ko kya pata ki mein creative king ke saath kitna important discussions karta hun. King se yaad aya mujhe usse call karna hai. Dialing his phone. Hello Vanku Da!
