"My decision to opt out of Kaajjal has nothing to do with Apoorva leaving the show. I am quitting because of monotony. I was feeling bored and didn't find the role challenging enough to continue further," she clarifies. Surveen says initially she enjoyed working in the daily. "There was no crying and not too much of melodrama. The making and treatment was quite realistic and the story moved very well. But after the wedding, the love story turned into a thriller. Of course I am not complaining because in the long run shows change and new elements are bound to occur. But I lost interest in the show," she adds. Surveen denies the fact that the reincarnation angle is being introduced because the lead pair is quitting the show. "With or without us or either of us the reincarnation story was planned well in advance," she adds. Though she had problems with the show recently, Surveen says the overall experience was quite satisfying. "I am happy that I did Kaajjal because the protagonist was quite like me and therefore it didn't require me to make extra efforts to play the character. I just had to be myself, a simple small town girl, who comes to a big city to make her dream come true," says Surveen, an average student, who came from Chandigarh to Mumbai four years ago to pursue her dream of working in serials and to make a name for her in showbiz. Though in real life Surveen says she is extremely bold and loves to enjoy life, deep down she is a small town girl. "I believe in simplicity and simple thoughts. In fact, I make conscious efforts to remain rooted like my mother. She is 45 years old but looks 20 and when people see the two of us together they feel we are sisters," she laughs. Perhaps that's why rumours do not bother her at all. The news of her alleged affair with co-actor Apoorva caused havoc in the actor's life but Surveen says she was quite cool about it. "There is no truth to the rumours," she says. After working for the show for one year without a break, Surveen is looking forward to a long holiday. "Lately I have not been keeping well. Now I will be attending to my health. In fact, I am quite serious about learning Yoga. Health is going to be my first priority," she adds. |
