Dev is moving towards the door, still lost in the intimate moment he and Kaajjal had just shared. He could still feel her closeness and the beautiful sensation of her lips. Oh how he is hating to leave Kaajjal standing like that, but NT, that one thought and he is worried. He opens the door with a curse on his lips, and is frozen to see Karan there. "now what the hell does he want" he asks himself. "Come Raju, I want to talk to you," Karan says. "What, at this time, are u crazy," Dev looks inside and sees Kaajjal still standing where he left her, as if waiting for him to reclaim her. But Dev's worried look worries her as well, and she moves forward to look who is it, and is stopped the moment she hears Karan's voice. "O come on Raju, this marriage thing doesn't mean u r actually married to Kaajjal, remember u r not Dev. Now come on, we need to talk about our next step." And at this Dev turns around and looks at Kaajjal, Kaajjal is close to the door and is looking at Dev with a disbelief in her eyes, she cant even move, she has this horrified look on her face and doesn't know what to do or say. Dev curses Karan in his heart and wants to practically kill him for spoiling the most beautiful moment of his life. "Karan please I will talk to you tomorrow morning," and Dev tries to close the door, and at that moment, Karan stops him from closing the door and says, "O don't tell me you have a plan of having suhag raat with Kaajjal, hmmm," and he winks at Dev, " Poor Kaajjal, Dev na sahi, us ka humshakal hi sahi," and then he says "Enjoy, and how about some sharing her???" in a very wicked and disrespectful way, and that was it. How can Dev stand someone talking like this about his princess, about someone he loves and respects more than anything, and he moves forward aggressively, the same Dev specific aggression, and hold Karan's collar, "how dare you talk like this about Kaajjal, you ….." Karan is shocked, 'why is he getting so angry, this is not Dev, or is he???????' Karan thinks to himself. Dev is just about to hit him hard when Kaajjal sees this and steps out. "Dev, stop it" she hold Dev's shoulder and tries to stop him, "leave me Kaajjal, I will not leave him, I'll kill him."And Karan is just shocked, he doesn't know what to say, he is totally spellbound by Dev's reaction, who he thinks is Raju. Kaajjal grabs his arms, and says again, "don't do this Dev, mom will wake up, we don't want a scene," but Dev is not ready to listen, and out of ferocity says, "tum nay meri Kaajjal kay baray main aisay alfaaz bhi kaisay istamaal kiyay, Kaajjal meri ibaadat hai, meri pooja hai, how dare you even think like this, you ……" and right then Dev sees Nandani coming towards them. He immediately leaves Karan's collar and composes himself, Nandani bhabi is a gem of a person and he doesn't want to hurt her by letting her know about Karan and his evil and disrespectful thoughts. Kaajjal sees all this and is surprised, and she can still hear Dev's words echoing in her mind, 'tum nay meri Kaajjal kay baray main aisay alfaaz bhi kaisay istamaal kiyay, Kaajjal meri ibaadat hai, meri pooja hai' …. ' meri Kaajjal, meri ibaadat, meri pooja'. And Kaajjal is just looking at this man, who is standing right next to her, like a solid rock, silently promising his love, and respect for all her life, and protection from all evils and all bads.
Nandani sees them standing like this while crossing to go to her room, "array, what are u all doing here." She gives everyone a surprised look. "woh ….. woh …. I wanted to talk to Dev about a business deal …. " Karan stammers, and Dev just looks at him. "Karan aap bhi na, yeh bhi koee waqt hai. Don't u know this is their wedding night. chaplain aap, had kar di aap nay," and saying this Nandani looks at Dev and Kaajjal, "bhaee main in ki taraf say mafi mangti hoon, ab tum log jao aur araam karo" and she holds Karan's hand and drags her from there, smiling. And Dev and Kaajjal just looks at her thinking, 'poor Nandani bhabi, what will she go through once she gets to know the real face of this man,' and Dev locks the door behind them.
So we are back to where we left, Dev thinks and Kaajjal is once again jammed on the floor. The words are still echoing in her mind … tum nay meri Kaajjal kay baray main aisay alfaaz bhi kaisay istamaal kiyay, Kaajjal meri ibaadat hai, meri pooja hai' …. and Kaajjal think how can even for once I came close to doubting him, he loves and respects me sooo much, how can I come close to not believing him. All the time Dev is looking at Kaajjal and reading her face, the ups and downs of her face, and the changing colors. And he thinks, 'agar main nay abhi apni baat nahi ki tu shaid bohat dait ho jayay gi. I have to make Kaajjal believe me'. For he knows that, as much as this night is a night of passion and desire, it's a night of trust and faith. A night when two souls bind into one and promise to share their lives forever. A promise sooo pious, that no one can ever break it. 'And tonight I will make this promise with you Kaajjal,' and then very slowly he takes a step towards Kaajjal. Seeing him coming close to her, her whole body tenses immediately. She feels as if she is stranded in the middle of nowhere, where she has no clue what she wants and what she doesn't. Dev closes the distance between them and stands in front of her, just looking at her with all the love in his eyes. His own mind is restless, for he knows he has a huge task in his hands to make Kaajjal believe in him, but he is determined to achieve it.
Kaajjal is lost in her thoughts, when Dev brings her back to the real word, by holding her hands. She looks up and sees the man of her dreams, the man she had loved madly, and Dev sees this love in her eyes. He slows walks Kaajjal to the bed, all the way holding her hand, and make her sit on the bed. Kaajjal looks at him surprisingly, as what is he up to. Dev looks in her eyes and slowly sits, but not on the bed but on the floor, so that his head is almost in her laps. It was as if, he is bowing in front of her goddess and paying her a tribute of love and respect, and Kaajjal is amazed to see this, she wants to ask him to get up, but se lets Dev have his way, for she wants him to speak tonight. "Kaajjal," he starts slowly, "main nay tum say kitna pyar kiya hai, is ka adaza bhi nahi mujhay. Tum aur tumhara pyar kab meri zindagi ban gayay, mujahy pata hi nahi chala, aur jab pata chala tu sar par mahadasha ka khatra tha. I never wanted anything bad to come to you, so I tried my best to stay away from you, lekin tum nay mujhay apnay say dur nahi janay diya. Aur tumhray pyar ki gehraee ka andaaza mujhay tab hwa jab main nay tumhain apnay pyar main rotay bilaktay dekha." At this Dev lifts his head from her laps and gently holds her hands. "main nay tumhain bohat takleef di, lekin yaqeen karo, har wo aansoo jo tumhari aankh say nikla, wo meray dil pay gira, aur har aanson nay meray dil ko hazar baar jalaya," He tighten his hold on her hands. "main nay tumharay pyar ki shiddat har lamha mahsoos ki," "every time I gave tears into ur eyes, I wanted to kill my self for that; everytime I hurt you I wanted to beg you for forgiveness; that day when I came to your room and u were crying, I held my hands and begged for ur forgiveness. It wasn't Raju, Kaajjal, it was me, your Dev." and at this Kaajjal looks deep into his eyes to read his feelings, and Dev looks back at her with all the love and intensity, "I cant thank you enough for going through all this pain for me and my mom. And above all, tonight, I know you were back to square one, thinking I am not your Dev, but even then, I know for my mom, you agreed to marry me, you have earned my respect more than ever Kaajjal." Kaajjal is starting to have tears in her eyes, "I cant come close to telling you what u mean to me, and tonight when we have become husband and wife, I want to make sure all your confusions are gone." All the time he is looking at Kaajjal and touching her with his eyes, "I am trying to make Karan believe I am Raju so that I can get into his shoes and see things the way he sees. This will allow me to catch him red handed and I will have the proofs and the reason which led him to do this to me. I want you to believe me Kaajjal, but even if u don't, I am ready to give ourselves all the time, till u r ready to trust your Dev again." At this Kaajjal looks at him once again, for every word that he said was full of truth. She could feel that truth, that genuineness and that love. "I have given you all the proofs that I had to prove my self as Dev, I don't know what else to do; but my love, if there is anything u want to ask, any other proof you want, I can give it to you, for I am ur Dev and there is nothing between you and Dev that I don't know." And at this he leaves her hands and once again puts his head on her laps and have tears in his eyes, " but please don't say u don't trust me Kaajjal, don't look at me with this suspicion, this mistrust. My life will end if I don't have u by my side." And this was it; very gently Kaajjal lifts her hand and rest it on his head, gently stroking his hair with her fingers. Dev senses this, and feels like he is in heaven. How much had he longed for this love, and this sensitivity. He keep his head in her laps, and she keeps moving her fingers in his hair, and none of them spoke anything for another 2 minutes. Each one is lost in a world of trusting each other, and silently talking. Every stroke of Kaajjal's fingers tells Dev about her love, her pain, her agony and the torture she went through.
After a long long moment of silent words and loving touches, Dev lifts his head, "don't u want to say anything Kaajjal?" he look at Kaajjal with hundred questions in his eyes. And Kaajjal is still quiet, 'o my, what is it? Does she still not believe me???' Dev asks himself. He knew he can't just leave her quiet like this, and very hesitantly he gets up the floor and sits besides her. Kaajjal is still quiet; but this time there is an assurance in her, and very slowly, she just puts her head on his shoulder and closes her eyes, as if she has reached home.This gesture sent a wave of relief to Dev's fearful heart, for Kaajjal would never have kept her head on his shoulder if she hadn't trusted him.
