The starcast of Sony's newly-launched serial Kajjal-Sabbki Aakhon Mein Basi, was in the capital on Friday. The serial to be aired from October 9 is produced by Balaji Telefilms. It has been directed by Ashish Patel, also the man behind Kumkum-Pyara Sa Bandhan. Surveen with her demure looks and pleasant personality fits into the role of Kajjal, a 20-year-old RJ from Mussourie. Speaking about her character, Surveen says, "Kajjal is in search of perfect love and wants to live her life to the fullest. I can relate to her because I too believe in family values and aspire to follow my dreams. The only difference is that I'm not in search of a knight in shining armour." Kajjal finds love in Dev, a debonair scion of a business empire, who has a dark past, that makes him bitter towards everything in life. Played by Apoorva, better-known as Jassi's Armaan Sir, Dev undergoes a change after he meets Kajjal. "Unlike Armaan, Dev has a more logical angle to its character and is more real," says Apoorva. Another interesting aspect of the show is Gannoo bhaiya. He is not a human character, but a personification of Lord Gane-sha who acts as a friend, philosopher and guide to Kajjal. He is an inherent part of the serial and has been created by Sandiip Sikcand, creative director, SET. "It is an attempt to bring in the religious element, but in a very unconventional manner. Gannoo bhaiya is like a friend and Kajjal talks to him everyday, sharing her thoughts and seeking advice from him," says Sikcand. |
