Thanks for the video link.. short and sweet promo and I am eager to see the new guy's bhola chehra... I hope it's someone rugged and not someone cute like Brij or Pankaj... lol.
🤣 at Aneeka's comments:: --
I hope this new man isn't Brij though, escaping from prison n getting a plastic surgery to transform his face, and seek revenge
--
Very funny ... The height does match with Brij but a naa-laayak like Brij cudnt get that much money to get plastic surgery done.. that too after a jail break.. lololol... Anyway, just like the voiceover lady says .."ek ajnabi se mulaqaat sirf ek itefaq hein aur kuch aur"... we'll have to wait and see..

This depends on the guy completely. If he's just another guy like Panakj who has no backbone of his own and doesn't give Jyoti the kind of space a woman deserves - then no. But if this new hero for Jyoti can be the kind of guy who would stand up for her, against people like Padma who take advantage of her, then yes. Jyoti is a strong, independant woman... although she just doesn't know how to say no. Staying in the Sharmas is taking a toll on her mental health, she's being attacked from all sides there. Finally finding someone who understands would be a miracle.
And i hope Jyoti has learned her lesson - no more lies!!!

Great to have such an active thread and such participation from everybody - looks like this is just the event needed to make the serial interesting again, and in a good way. Thanks, Kawal Tak for the video - I've updated the opening post on it, and my apologies again for saying Sushma when I meant Sudha. Looks like this is a fascinating topic, w/ opinion almost equally divided. 😉😊😆

I agree w/ those who say that Jyoti shouldn't get married just to 'get even' w/ Pankaj, as Sudha suggests. Instead, she should, on their first meeting, let the guy know that she's just out of a marriage and pregnant, so that he can determine for himself right then & there whether he wants this rishta or not. Then she should tell him everything about her past, like she did to Mahesh Trivedi, and win him over that way. That way, no surprises later, or ever.

I do however want Jyoti to re-marry. When this serial began, the reason I was attracted to it was the idea that a girl, instead of marrying, could live happily ever after in her maayka w/o being sidetracked by a guy. However, the step treatment that Jyoti, and particularly Sudha got from Padma changed my wishes quickly: in fact, it was agonizing to watch Sudha as an unmarried girl. Today, she's happily married to Uday and has finally drawn a line in the sand for CM. I do hope that in future, she tells CM to not dare contact any member of her maayka, including Jyoti - maybe make the grounds for that that they don't belong to the same strata of society, and either would be completely out of place in the other's settings.

Similarly, for Jyoti, I want her to get married, so that she stops re-living her bachelorette days as a golden goose for Padma, Sushma and now Poonam. Get out of there, and this time, stop sending money that way. After all, after Jyoti returned, Padma did remark how she was a burden on the family. So get out of there, w/ your money. And quit dancing, which is physically strenuous for a pregnant woman, and focus on just your column - I do hope Basu doesn't bend to CM's sadistic wishes.

My wishlist for the guy:
  • He should not be the effiminate emotional type like KK or Pankaj - I want some really strong, no-nonsense guy type of guy - like Arjun Kunj in KMH. A guy who doesn't buy the emotional basis on which Jyoti lives (you know, the stuff about saboodhs and bharosas and all that), but patiently explains to her the practical basis on which they need to live, and why it has to sometimes (not always) stray from her idealism. Someone who can persuade her to suppliment her idealism w/ practicality - something that neither KK, Brij nor Pankaj have achieved to date. Normally, I wouldn't want a chatterbox, but given how Jyoti is, he needs to be bhashan city 😆😆😆
  • While he should be supportive of Jyoti & her family, I'd prefer one who insists firmly, but compassionately, that Jyoti's first loyalty be to him, and then to her maayka. Like if Jyoti wants to earn a living, fine, but he expects that salary to support them and the child. Essentially, make it clear to her that while she's welcome to support her maayka, he expects the bulk of her time to be dedicated to him and her family, including her baby, and that whenever she does indulge in maayka supporting activities, she involve him as well
  • I hope that he identifies and points out to Jyoti the villains in her life, like Padma, and why it's unhealthy of her to keep supporting them on everything, right down to geysers, honeymoons and the like. He should explain to her that by making her maayka totally dependent on her, she's also making them resentful of her. She needs to maintain her realtionship w/ them, but also develop a healthy distance.
  • He should put firm limits on Jyoti's activities given that she's pregnant, and put his foot down and not allow her to over-exert herself. This is something nobody has been able to do to date. Yeah, Jyoti does need her independence, but in her case, more often than not, that ends up in her being self-destructive. This new guy needs to set the parameters in which she operates, since she's demonstrated that she can't do it alone.
  • If he has his own family, I hope it's similar to the Vashists, but minus CM, Pankaj and Minal. I also hope that the family is reasonably well to do (but not as rich as the Vashisths or even the Trivedis), but would need Jyoti's support as well. In other words, Jyoti needs to be in a symbiotic/mutually-dependent relationship w/ her sasural - not exclusively she needing them, or them needing her, but a co-dependent relationship, where both need each other. I hope he has a family, and isn't a loner like Brij.
  • If he does marry Jyoti, I do want Jyoti to have a kid out of this marriage as well. It's not fair to him to expect him to have only a step-kid.
  • He should not be blind, deaf or have any such problems - the last thing Jyoti needs is to be the crutch of yet another person. However, not a problem if he is a widower or has a kid of his own thru a previous marriage. In fact, thinking about it - why not? Let's show him be a widower of a baby, let Jyoti get attached to it, and so that when she marries, it's a new exercise for her - to be fair to both her own baby and her hubby's, and ultimately, have a baby from this marriage as well. In fact, I dearly hope that there are 2 babies in to start w/ - his and her foetus, so that she has to manage their growth & relationship. That alone should swallow up her time such that she has to stop paying any attention to her maayka, or her former sasural.
Also, just as Sudha seems to have developed a new, no-nonsense personality that even Jyoti can't oppose, I'd like Jyoti to develop one as well. Be as loving as you always have been, but be more discerning. In the past, she was deferential to those who abused her, like Padma & Bhairavi. She's completely cleaned up her act w/ Bhairavi, but she needs to do it w/ Padma as well. And like I mentioned above, she needs to be less supportive of her maayka, and force them to look @ other income sources, be it KK, Poonam, or in the long run, even Sushma.

Sorry for such a long winded post. Feel free to suggest other things you'd like to see either in this new guy, if one is there, or Jyoti herself.😆

Coming to the sort of family he's from... I hope its something like Poonam's. Not too rich, but pretty well-to-do with in-laws that seem pretty practical. Ooo, that just got me thinking - what if this new guy is POONAM'S BROTHER?!

Not sure if many of u remember this detail that Poonam mentioned on her first date with Deepu. He started talking abt relationships, ands he vaguely brings up the topic of her bro that doesn't live with her family anymore. She talked abt him with a bitter tone, which foreshadows conflict if Jyoti and he get together in future.
What do u guys think abt that possibility??

But wouldn't that make it verboten? I mean, in Indian society, while it's okay for a family to give 2 daughters to 2 sons of another family, it's unheard of that a family gives a daughter in marriage, and goes on to take her nanad as their own bahu. Of course, you could always have families that are unorthodox who won't abide by such rules, but the Sharmas don't seem to be such a family - just look @ Dadi & Padma for starters. Therefore, neither Jyoti nor Sushma could marry Poonam's bro if it came down to it.

But yeah, it would be funny if Jyoti got Mahesh-ji for a sasur, and he went on to start spoiling her, while cutting off Poonam's luxury items to accomodate Jyoti's needs 😆

LOL this series is full of confusing names, "Sushma-Sudha", "Poonam-Neelam". I bet it was KK or Dadi who named Sushma to match with Sudha, Padma would've never wanted them to have similar names.
@ Kruthika: That would give another reason for Poonam to not like Jyoti I guess, as Poonam didn't really seem a great fond of her brother when she was talking about him to Sandeep.
But what if it's actually Neelam's secret lover, and from him Jyoti finds out all about Neelam...by "ittefak", but that surely means that it's not a guy for Jyoti and it'll be the same rona dhona bla bla same old story again 🤢, which I really don't want to see again, so I'll ditch this idea of mine 😆

Wow..I dont mind the guy to be Neelam's past. I dont want Pankaj to get any life partner... let him live with his ego and his cane.. that looooooooooser... and let Meenal suffer in her maayka for ever and let CM's face shrink in shame...

Meenal should be kidnapped by some thugs when she goes out of her maayka to buy more "jewellery" and get r*ped and carry a child coz of this ... she should give birth to a b**tard... only then CM will know how painful it was for Jyoti to bear such ill comments in the court.. What went around should come around. Meenal has been hiding for a while. Bring her out and get her r*ped . LOL.

@ the comments of this new guy being Poonam's bro : --
isnt Poonam's brother already married to someone in the states?

Anyway, me want Jyoti to see the Vashisht parivaar sink in shame coz of whatever they did to her... if she gets a new guy, her focus will divert to this guy and his "parivaar" if he has one.. enough of doormatism.. time for Jyo to pull up an easy chair and watch the Vashisht destruction. 😆 😆
