Pankaj gives Jyoti a gift for Sandeep, and on her asking, he assures her that his family will definitely be there @ the wedding. Jyoti also invites him in, since he's come so far, as well as ginger tea, but Pankaj tells her that he's stopped liking ginger tea. He declines and leaves. In the car, he remarks to himself that he lied to Jyoti about the tea 👏👏
Jyoti goes back inside, and tells Dadi that the reason Pankaj came was to give Deepu a gift, as well as his best wishes. Deepu is furious, and asks whether this is the right manner to give gifts? They had gone to invite them, and let alone acceptance, they had forced her to stay away from her brother's wedding. He demands to know why Jyoti accepted that gift. Uday & Sudha look embarrassed, while Jyoti tells him that she'd have done the same for anybody (yeah, right, like she'd herself have accepted an ill wisher's gift for Deepu, but declined it for herself. Great morals, Ms Manners) She tells him that since she's moved ahead, she's accepted the gift. She tells him that it makes no difference to Pankaj whether he came to the wedding or not, but he came since he's a well wisher of Pankaj. (Deepu should have used his brains, take the gift, hand it over to Uday and ask him to return it to Pankaj and stuff it, ignoring Jyoti altogether)
Dadi tells him to accept the gift, since today is such a special day for him, and he should harbor no ill will towards anybody. Sushma too suggests that Deepu sees what Jiju has... and then corrects herself, and says what Pankaj has sent. Deepu opens it and sees a watch, and Sushma remarks that it must be expensive (given that it's costing Deepu his sister's presence @ his wedding, I'd say No shit, Sherlock) Padma passes one more of her snide comments on the Vashisth riches, right in front of Sudha & Uday. 👏👏👏 Jyoti goes into her room, and sits down, and has the flashback of what Pankaj said outside. 🤢 🤢
Sudha is sadly alone in another room, and Uday comes and joins her. Uday asks her what is she doing here, since she had gone to fetch sharbat for others, and asks her if she's okay. Uday tells her that there is music and dance going on outside, and he too will dance w/ her, but she declines (is Uday such a dilweed?) Sudha tells her that she isn't Jyoti who'll smile despite all the pain (why didn't Sudha and/or Uday just decline the invitation altogether, and leave Jyoti free to attend? If I were Deepu, I'd insult Sudha again by calling her Dheeli, and driving her out.) Uday tells her that Jyoti is doing that for the happiness of everybody in that house (but everybody is miserable, you imbecile!!!) He asks Sudha to support her, saying that if she broke down, Jyoti would be weakened. Sudha reluctantly agrees. Outside Jyoti is dancing w/ Sushma, and Padma joins them. Uday & Sudha come out, and Dadi joins the group. Sudha continues crying.😭
Next morning, Jyoti comes out and notes that the decorations are still underway, but the guys working on it assure her that it'll be ready, and suggest that she joins the barat. Jyoti is instantly saddened, remembering that she won't be going. In another room, Deepu is getting ready, and his friends remark on how handsome he is. They ask him if Poonam has any sister or friends 😆❤️😉 (Hey, buddies, Deepu himself has 2 sisters who are available, if you can overlook the small matter of their pregnancies 😆😆 - they sure could use your support 😉😉) Outside, Kalpana has arrived w/ Jyoti, and his friends go out to see the arrangements while Deepu gets ready. In another room, Dadi is decorating the floor, and Padma urges her to get ready. Dadi remarks that Jyoti ain't ready either, and then starts crying remembering that Jyoti can't go. Padma urges her not to be upset (methinks that Padma is happy that Jyoti is missing out on this) She urges Dadi & Sudha to get ready.
In the other room, Deepu is being decked up. Deepu notices a tear in Jyoti's eye, but she assures him that they are tears of happiness (lying has gone from second nature to first for this masochist) She tries to lighten up the mood by recalling his childhood moments, and the 2 have some fun moments. She then gives him a bhashan. Finally he touches her feet, and she tells him not to cry, or all the bleach & facial will get spoilt (dear, you can't be another Bhairavi, don't even think about it)
Deepu comes out, escorted by everybody, & Padma & Dadi does his varan before he takes leave. So does Jyoti, Sudha & Sushma. Deepu refuses to smile until Jyoti signals him to. Then all 3 sisters feed the horse the mithais, and Deepu gives them the naig. Sushma & Sudha tease him over the naig, and Uday prompts him to mount the horse. Jyoti goes to him and gives him some money, and the fireworks are set off.
The barat starts and leaves, w/ all that pomp & grandeur, and soon they've all left, leaving Jyoti all alone back home, crying. Sudha tries to bring her, but Jyoti refuses. Sudha leaves, leaving Jyoti all alone. 😭
Kalpana has actually stayed back, and she joins Jyoti and suggests that she comes w/ her. She points out that while Jyoti can't be @ the wedding itself, she can observe it from a distance. Jyoti's reaction is not shown.
I hate Jyoti b'cos of her masochism, but this is the first time ever that I've hated Sudha & Uday. Had they taken a principled stand to not attend, Jyoti could have gone, and while they'd all have missed them, things would have been relatively fine. I'm particularly pissed @ KK, who seems to have abdicated all powers over Jyoti, and is as much a sock-puppet of Jyoti as MN&G are of Bhairavi.
I agreed w/ Deepu as well, but think he should have taken that watch, given it to Uday and told him to return it to Pankaj telling him to stuff it. As usual, Jyoti is full of crap. She herself won't take alimony, in fact, won't even use the money that Pankaj gave her on their anniversary, but she expects Deepu to graciously accept a gift Pankaj gave? So Jyoti is supposed to have all that self respect, but Deepu is expected to abdicate it for - who again? I just wish Deepu is as forceful and forces the issue, and made it clear that he doesn't want Sudha @ the wedding if it's going to be @ the cost of Jyoti. What a pushover.
And Padma is a total 🤬 - yesterday, having sabotaged Jyoti's chances of doing a puja by sending her out to get Poonam's sari (why can't she f**king go?), and today, she looked like she was perfectly fine w/ Jyoti not being able to go. I wonder who Padma hates more - Jyoti or Bhairavi? Any guesses?
After today, I can't think of one positive character left in this serial. Can you? I want Jyoti to re-marry - Rahul Mahajan 😆😆
Episode rating: 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
An exercise in masochism, and viciously sadistic. A must-miss episode - worse than even the Brij appearances. If you haven't watched it, don't bother - I'd have preferred not to have either, had it been someone else's turn today.
