Sorry for the delay - my laptop went off when I was typing this earlier. Had to get back to it after hours. (A note to everyone who has been complimenting me - thank you, but note that I'm not a 'she' 😉😉😉)
The scene starts at the Sharma household, where KK notes that the question no longer is one of just Jyoti, but Sudha as well, and if the Vashisths get to know about Brij, CM would make the lives of both gals hell (CM wont be their worst problem: no one in the family, not even Uday, would take kindly to being deceived.) Padma notes that CM can do anything, include kick Jyoti & Sudha out of the house. Padma notes that they wouldn't be able to say anything, since they too participated in the cover-up. Deepu says that they all know what has happened so far, but the question is what do they do now - just sit on their hands and watch things unravel, so that Brij can do anything and they just have to watch? KK notes that they don't have any options anymore, and asks Deepu to contain himself no matter what. He says that they'd have to match every move of Brij (fat chance), and the slightest error on their part would result in both girls being sent back home. As it is, Sushma has gone thru a lot, and now these 2 would has well. Sushma weeps to hear this.
Back at the Vashisth mansion, the Vashists return from their dinner, and BM asks how the dinner was and Pankaj says it was good. Uday gives Jyoti a tiffin box and says Purohit aunty sent it, since Pankaj, Jyoti & Sudha couldn't be there. BM says that they all missed them, and next time, they must all come - no excuses. MN and Pankaj state that they all will, and Uday says that he's tired, and would retire to bed, and he & Sudha leave.
Minal's phone rings and she cheerfully answers, and is shocked into 2 seconds of the conversation. When it's over, she says that her neighbor called and said that Sumant is back in India. Minal is shocked that Sumant didn't bother to call her. MN remarks that it's impossible, but Minal says that that's what happened. She speculates that her sasural must have poisoned his ears against her. CM tells her that she'd call Sumant right then. She tries, but finds out that it's outside the network, so offers to call her in-laws. Minal stops her and says that as it is, they are angry w/ them, and if she called them and exacerbated things? CM turns to Jyoti (who else, and what's new?) and tells her - see, what's happening to my daughter courtesy you? Her husband didn't bother to inform her after returning. Who knows what'll happen next? Who knows whether they'd even take her back or not. MN asks her why she's thinking this, and CM tells that even if they do take her back, who knows what barbs they might send her way? And maybe, on hearing his parents, Sumant may have decided to divorce... She stops, and stares at a shocked Jyoti. She tells Jyoti that if this happens, she'd never forgive her.
Pankaj gets up and asks MN why CM always attacks Jyoti. MN tells him that he knows CM's nature (you are her elder, for Pete's sake, do something about it!!!) and that Minal's sorrow has left her in this state, since no mom can see her daughter grieving. Once Minal returns, her grievances against Jyoti will also go away (Fat chance!!!)
He then asks Pankaj about his friend - how was it? MN says that he too would have liked to meet him, but had he not gone, his hosts would have taken offense. He would never forget what that friend had done for him. Jyoti is dismayed to hear how indebted her family feels to Brij. He gives Pankaj some CDs to give him, and also asks him to invite Brij again. Jyoti looks at him somewhat stunned. It would be nice if they all were there (actually, if they were, Brij wouldn't be able to taunt Jyoti the way he could when only Pankaj was there). He asks Jyoti, and she fakes a smile and agrees.
Back in the Sharma's, Sushma's phone rings while she is asleep, and so she reaches out and takes it. Brij asks her whether she's got the news of what happened today? Sushma asks him why is he doing this - not satisfied w/ destroying her, he's now out to torment her whole family? Brij tells her that her answer is contained within her question. No, he's not satisfied. She asks why she ever loved someone like him? Brij smiles. She said that there could be no greater misdeed than that. Brij says that having done the misdeed, she does have to pay. Sushma asks him why doesn't he leave them alone? Brij tells her that she's talking childishly, and as long as she is in his control, he can pretty much do anything he wants. Leaving her alone is therefore out of the question. Sushma threatens to one of these days either murder him or commit suicide. Brij tells her not to even think of killing him, since it's outside her capability. And if she feels like commiting suicide, by all means knock yourself out - doesn't make any difference. Whether she remains or not doesn't make any difference to the endgame - fact will remain that Jyoti did not tell her in-laws either about her other sister, nor her old flame. Sushma is shocked to hear this, and realizes that Brij knows Jyoti's achilles heel, and is mum. Brij asks her whether she's still conscious? Brij tells her that he's out of cash, and to give him Rs 2000, telling her to deliver it tomorrow @ a certain location near Pratapgarh. Sushma tells him that she'll give him nothing and Brij releases his blackmail card - he tells her that he'd call... nay go to Jyoti's in-laws and tell them everything there is to know about Jyoti, Brij & Sushma. Sushma is shocked. Brij continues that her family witheld such a major secret from them that someone's got to tell them. He'd be very happy to do that job. He also tells her that he has some interesting photos - him & Jyoti, him & Sushma... So they'll meet tomorrow. Good night. Brij hangs up, and Sushma is crying, wondering where to get that from.
In the Vashisth mansion, Pankaj comes into the room and tells Jyoti to play the CDs, and see what songs his dad had bought for Brij. She suggests hearing it later. As it is, it's pretty late, and he has to go to college early. Pankaj agrees and lies down. He notes that he was very happy to meet Brij, and that he had a personality of his own, as well as a great sense of humor. He is a very simple guy, or else, who discusses his personal life in their first encounter? Jyoti remarks that he shouldn't think much about Brij, and Pankaj asks why - he is his friend. Jyoti agrees, but tells him that on meeting him, she felt something was wrong about him: she got a strange feeling about him. Pankaj asks her what's she saying - he's such a nice guy. Where exactly does one find people like Brij nowadays (Indeed!!! 😆😆😆) What he did, had anyone else done it, he'd have gone all out to be introduced to him. But Brij witheld his name on that occasion, and just disappeared - when he needed money from a job. He said that they were lucky he got to meet him a second time, and that on eating there and getting a small gift, this simple guy was so satisfied. He cannot be bad. He says that she was in a bad mood, which was why she misunderstood him. Jyoti is listening to all this, stunned.
The next day, at the Sharmas, Sushma gets another call from Brij, who tells her that he was giving her a reminder, and that he had arrived at the spot. Be there right away. Sushma puts down the phone and wonders what to do next. She asks Deepu whether he has any clothes, and he says that there are 2 pants & shirts. She takes them and notices his wallet on the table and takes it (why can't Sushma simply tell Deepu about this conversation, and let the family decide how to handle it?) She checks the cash in the wallet, and recalls Brij's blackmailing instructions, as well as his statement that he has interesting photos of both Jyoti & Sushma w/ himself. She said to herself that if she told Deepu, he'd not let her go there, but if she didn't go, Brij would make life hell for both Jyoti & Sudha.
Sushma goes to the Pratapgarh fort gates as instructed w/ the money. Brij grabs her and tells her that he knew she would come, and that she looks good. Sushma pulls away and tells him to take the cash and let her go. Brij says sure, he's not going to take her anywhere. As it is, nowadays, he has new, richer company, like her sister Jyoti's in-laws. Sushma looks at him angrily. Still, he can't shut his eyes to the fact that she's his wife. He then snatches the envelope from him and grabs her as she tries to leave. He then opens the envelope and checks it. Sushma tells him that he's received his cash, so let her go. Brij says certainly, but while she's satisfied his needs for today, if he needs something else later, he'd definitely keep contacting her. Sushma pushes him, and tells him that God watches everything, and is sure to give him justice. Whatever grief he has caused them to date will be caused to him when it's all over (How?) She says that she has her folks w/ her, but when he will be in need, nobody will be there for him. He will be begging for alms. Saying this, she goes away. Brij laughs @ her and her predicament.
In the kitchen, Jyoti thinks that it must be someone Pankaj knows well, or else, he doesn't like strangers coming into his room. Pankaj tells Brij that his tea is coming, to have it while Pankaj goes and has a bath, and that they'll leave for college together. Jyoti arrives and offers Pankaj tea, and he tells her that he's running late, so Jyoti should only give his guest tea, and that he'll get ready and then leave. Jyoti puts the tea on the table, but turning towards him, sees that it's Brij. Brij turns towards her w/ that usual smirk, and greets her Good Morning. He then gets up, turns and tells Pankaj that while he may have welcomed him, it didn't seem like his wife did. In fact, he thinks that Jyoti doesn't like his being there. Pankaj denies it, and but Brij tells him that Jyoti would be wanting that having spent all day outside, when he's back, she'd want him to spend all his time w/ her. Jyoti gives Brij the usual dirty look. Pankaj tells him that all wives do desire the company of their husbands above everyone else, but Jyoti is not among those who doesn't like her husband's choice of friends. Brij disagrees, and says that no third party is ever welcome in a love relationship, and that no matter what the friendship, that third party is still a kabab-me-haDDi. Pankaj laughs, while Jyoti looks disgusted, and Brij cockily asks her whether he said anything wrong? Jyoti is silent, and Brij urges her to say yes or no, and Pankaj too joins in and asks her to say whether she welcomes him or not, or else, he'll feel unwelcome. Jyoti takes a deep breath, and in a disgusted voice, says that since childhood, she's learnt that all guests should be respected. And he is Pankaj's guest. Pankaj asks Brij if he is satisfied, and Brij says that since she's said so, he is. Jyoti then turns to Pankaj and asks him whether he wanted anything. Pankaj says he's looking for his shampoo, and Jyoti offers to come w/ him & give it to him. Pankaj declines and tells her to talk to Brij while he gets it himself. Brij interrupts and tells Pankaj that he knows that he's being late, but that he'd admit that there are some people, who, when they love someone, would do anything to get them, even if they have to lie to them, or cheat them. Jyoti looks at him, horrified. That's why they say alls fair in love and war. Pankaj agrees w/ him, and tells him that he wont deny it. It takes all kinds. However, since Brij asked, he'd tell him straight - his Jyoti's relationship was as clean as a mirror. Brij is startled and turns towards Jyoti. Pankaj cannot imagine that Jyoti would ever have lied to him, or cheated him. But why is he thinking this - he fully trusts Jyoti. She'd never do that w/ him. Jyoti looks embarrassed and ashamed, while Brij stares triumphantly at her. Pankaj tells Brij that he's lucky to have a family like he has, and Jyoti. Jyoti looks distressed, while Pankaj continues - friends such as Brij. He then leaves for his bath.
Brij laughs, and turns to Jyoti, and remarks 'Poor Pankaj', while Jyoti looks sadly at Pankaj walking away. He tells Jyoti that Pankaj is not just blind, but clueless. Jyoti now glares at him, angrily. Brij continues that just as Dhritarashtra had no clue of the crimes of his sons, similarly Pankaj has no inkling of Jyoti's behavior. Brij then invites her to sit, and along w/ the tea, also exchange pleasantries. He puts his hands on her shoulder and she jerks it off. She angrily tells him that he insults her husband behind his back, and then expects her to engage in a good conversation? She turns away, and Brij grabs him again, asking her where is she off to? Jyoti then picks up one of the cups of tea and throws it at Brij, and storms out. Brij is angry at his clothes being soiled, and says that he's added this to Jyoti's long list of crimes against him, and glares at her as she walks out. The episode ends.
Jyoti is sitting w/ Sudha, and telling her that she can no longer bear Pankaj being insulted by Brij, and that she sees no alternative other than to come clean and tell him everything. Today, right now, she is going to tell him everything.

So far, we had only been speculating that Jyoti would be kicked out, but by now, it seems fair to expect that once this is exposed, Sudha will be kicked out w/ her. Which is sad, but this time, it's hard to see even Uday sympathize w/ her, when she chose to put her sister's interests above that of her marriage.
Today, of all people in the Sharma household, Padma was the only one talking sense when she pointed out that if Jyoti & Sudha were kicked out and returned home, the whole family would be responsible, since they too aided in the cover up. Of course, nobody else wanted to confront that truth, but it's amazing how sanctimonious the entire family is. Whatever sympathy I might have had for them dries up right here. I am sad that Sudha too stands to be kicked out, but she too bears responsibility for putting her sister over her sasural. But right now, nobody I hate more than Jyoti - she belongs behind bars even more than Brij does.
Minal's news looked like it was just setting the ground for CM to be even more hostile to Jyoti than she has been to date, and if this is exposed while she's still in that mood, then she'd be unstoppable. However, in such a situation, it wouldn't be her alone: nobody in the household, not even Uday, would take kindly to the entire family being deliberately deceived and that too on such innocuous grounds. Only interesting thing about her - if Jyoti & Sudha are kicked out, will that mend things b/w the Vashists & Kesav-ji?
Brij blackmailing Sushma was not a surprise, but what was was her hiding things from her folks, who would definitely have come up w/ a better solution than just submitting to blackmail. As it is, when one blackmails one, the only reason for the blackmailer not to follow thru w/ his threat is not that he has been paid, but that future payments are unlikely/impossible. Sushma should have discussed it w/ at least Deepu, and let him deal w/ it, instead of taking it into her own hands. What if Brij had assaulted her? He can kill her, and still call the Sharmas and continue to blackmail them as long as Jyoti is in that house.
The last scene was just irony packed, but sadly enough, it made it even more difficult for Jyoti to come clean. At this stage, my sympathies for her have dried up, and I actually enjoyed Brij mocking her all the way, even though I normally hate him. All I hope at this stage is that when Jyoti is ultimately kicked out, Sudha isn't kicked out w/ her, although I doubt that she'll be spared either.
From the promo, I do hope Jyoti follows through w/ her plan to fess all to Pankaj, but going by the track record, I doubt it. Either it will be Sudha stopping her, or something else. Ultimately, the way I see this plot headed, the only reason Brij is not breaking this to Pankaj is that he stands to blackmail the Sharmas as long as he doesn't. Once either that cash cow dries up, or Brij is dealt a lethal blow, he will be the one to break it to Pankaj in revenge. After which it'll be curtains for Jyoti. And maybe even Sudha.
All in all, Friday's episode was the worst this week - Sushma submitting to blackmail, Jyoti continuing to hide things from Pankaj instead of seizing the opportunity to tell him that night all about Brij, the Sharmas wondering how to handle this...
