Meera was astonished at his declaration.
Prithvi will feed me??!!!She thought to herself..
But how-..Meera could not finish thinking this thought,when Prithvi shoved a piece of Batora deeped in cholay gravy,into her mouth..While she stared at him dumbstruck,and obligingly chew on..
Prithvi went on feeding her,and a dazed Meera kept eating quietly,without uttering a word,and just stared at him with her eyes wide open..She was so unaware of her own actions,that she was startled out of her trance,when Prithvi suddenly brought her back to reality.
"Ouch!"Prithvi exclaimed out.
Meera turned her eyes just in time to notice Prithvi look painfully at his finger.
"You were supposed to eat the food,not my finger,fairy.." Said Prithvi to Meera,looking up at her with a teasing smile.."You bit really hard on it.."He murmured,and sucked on his finger to relieve the pain,as he watched Meera color up in embarrassment.
"I'm..I'm really sorry.."Meera managed to stammer,looking away from him in embarrassment..
"It's okay..No need to feel sorry..Unless you did it intentionally,to punish me for saving you so many times..?"Prithvi asked with a teasing smile,as he turned her face back towards him again.
"No!"Meera exclaimed out instantly."Why should I hurt I hurt you intentionally?I can never.."She drifted off,coloring in embarrassment once again.
"I know..Don't worry Meera..I was just teasing.."Prithvi said in a suddenly sober and quiet voice,and to her amazement pulled her head closer,and placed a kiss on her forehead lovingly..
Removing his lips from her forehead,Prithvi stared into the beautiful wide doe like eyes of Meera,completely lost in them..Both were unaware,that Prithvi had just kissed Meera in broad daylight,in an open public place,where they could be seen by anyone and everyone..What mattered to both of them,at that moment was just each other,and their blossoming unknown and unaccepted feelings for each other..The actual significance of Prithvi's loving action was lost on both of them,until they heard some claps..
"Wow!This is called true love between husband and wife!"Cheered someone in a loud voice..And that broke the trance in which they had both got lost for a few seconds..
Embarrassed they both looked away,and Prithvi clearing his throat,picked up the thali and was about to start feeding her again..
"I'm full..Please..Please let's get going..We also have to return to Baragaon before it's too late.."Meera muttered looking away..
Prithvi instantly nodded his agreement,and left to return the thali,and pay the bills..
A few feet away from Meera,sitting alone in the parked SUV,a man hiding behind a tree,reloaded a gun,and aimed it at Meera..
Prithvi was about to hurry back towards the car,when he was stopped by the Dhaba owner,who asked him some question.Prithvi half heartedly answered his question,as he impatiently glanced at Meera,sitting quietly in the car,eager to reach her fast.
The man fixed his target,and put his finger on the trigger,ready to press it down slowly.
"Sorry!The Dhaba owner,wanted some tips on how to be a good husband.."Prithvi explained,as he quickly got behind the wheels..
"Tips on how to be a good husband..?But why did he ask you th-"
"Nn..Nothing!It's not important really,I mean he was joking.."Prithvi managed to mutter in an embarrassed voice,finally realizing what he had just said to her..
"But..-"
"We're going to be late,Meera..Let's get going.."Prithvi said quickly to distract her,and turned on the ignition,and changed gears quickly,to get the car moving..
The man with the gun cursed himself in anger..
"Missed her by mere inches!But you won't be able to save her for long Prithvi Khanna!"The man muttered,as he quickly made a phone call.
"Yes..The black SUV..Keep track of it..I want to be informed about its every single movement!"The man finished,and kept the phone with an evil and dangerous smirk on his face...
Prithvi had arranged for the meeting to be held in his villa..To ensure that Meera did not feel embarrassed getting into his office in her disheveled appearance,and even he felt safer knowing she was safe and close to him in the guestroom of his highly secured villa..
It was getting hard for him to concentrate on his meeting,but the deal was crucial for his company,so Prithvi tried his best to concentrate on the meeting,that was being held in his drawing room..
Is this house really his?!!And he lives here alone?!!Meera thought to herself as she looked around in awe..The room she was shown in by Prithvi was beautifully done in green..The curtain,the matching bedcovers,the carpetings,the walls,were all different shades of the same color..Even the bathroom was huge and done in green tiles.And she still did not forget the long drive to the front door of this huge duplex villa across a beautiful and well maintained garden.Meera was lost in her reverie when after a slight knock,a pretty girl,in a smart office outfit of fitted skirt,and shirt entered.
"Hello mam..I'm Lily,Mr. Khanna's secretary.."The girl offered her hand in greetings with a warm smile,and Meera shook it slowly,and returned her smile.
"Bring them in."The secretary called out to someone,and instantly a line of smartly uniformed servants entered,carrying many packets with them,and within minutes,they were out of the room,just like they had come.
"I was told to ensure you are comfortable here Mam..I hope these are to your liking.You deserve only the best.."The girl called Lily indicated the packets,to a flabbergasted Meera.
"Oh well..So get fresh and ready mam..I should leave you now..But if you need me for anything,you only have to use that phone and dial 111..I'll be at your service.."The girl said and giving a final smile,she turned to leave,and then just as she was about to leave,she turned back to face a still confused Meera..
"By the way mam..Before I forget to say this..Congratulations on your engagement with Mr. Khanna.."Saying this last astonishing statement the girl left a thunderstruck Meera in the room.
Prithvi had finally managed to finish his meeting,and knocked at the door of the guest room.
Meera was not responding..Impatiently he knocked again,and checked on his watch simultaneously..It was 7 pm already and they had to start for Baragaon quickly.
"Meera?"Prithvi called out,and finally getting too impatient,tried the lock,and finding it unlocked opened the door.
The room was bathed in complete darkness..
"Meera?"Prithvi called out again,and quickly turned towards the wall,to switch on the corner lamp,and turned to face the room again..
"OH..MY..GOD!!!"Prithvi gasped out at what he saw...
