Aloha!
Silent reader here. But I had to post my two cents after Friday's episode cuz I saw it as a major turning point. This was written before I got to know about the new article thats doing the rounds so don't know how valid it is anymore, but here it goes anyway.
Things just got personal, very very personal.
Ever since Meera stepped into the village, she has managed to ruffle everyone's feather - that is everyone she has come in contact with... but she has managed to completely turn Prithvi's carefully constructed, fiercely protected world around, and not in a good way, not at all.
So far, each and everyone of the games Meera has played were driven by one of two main factors. Either to prove herself to Prithvi and the rest of the goanwallahs as someone on par if not better than them and secondly and perhaps most importantly, to somehow, anyhow convince her mother's husband to go back with her.
On the other hand, every single one of Prithvi's action and reaction had also been governed by two key elements. Daata Thakur's hukm and marzi and his own moral judgement and defining loyalty.
But then, everything changed during the Shradh Puja.
Meera who was doing everything in her power and causing chaos in her wake, albeit unknowingly, has suddenly and finally realised that perhaps the man her mother married is long gone, buried under the weight of duties, responsibilities and honour. And that it's time to go home. Now all she wants is to reunite with her mother. Its always about her bittu and her and that's where its personal.
Prithvi on the other hand was being true to his upbringing and the only man he loves, admires, respects and worships. So far everything he did was for him and due to him - whether stated directly or learnt over the years. Everything was about Daata Thakur. Until the puja, until Meera invariably marred what Prithvi had spent years and years to build, a position for himself in Daata Thakur's eyes. Now that may not be true, Daata would go back to being okay with Prithvi but for Prithvi it's marred and that's where things get personal.
Until now, Meera has always had the leading edge with her men - be it Akash, Daata Thakur or Prithvi. Mostly because they have let her run the show. But with that last move, that most reckless of all three men has just gone from defensive to offensive.
She has managed to hurt him personally, but the last time was the proverbial nail in the coffin. Now, he is fighting her personally, its no longer about anyone else's respect or honour - its about his loyalty, its about him.
Now when Prithvi will make a move, it will be to rip her away from the one thing she holds closest to her heart, her bittu and he will leave no stone unturned to do it. Meera has been fighting tooth and nail for her mother so far. But when Prithvi will come in the way of her trip back home, she will be fighting for herself.
Like I said, it just got a whole lot personal now.
Thanks for reading my long rant.
