That's why I look for soft romance books. Or something like PBD, NJAPA, HBAS!

These white authors are writing shit in the name of teenage love. I still like the old school romance novels. smiley36 school ke baad milna...chup chup ke msg karna...etc etc smiley42

Sadly writers don't write such books these days ... you are right. Such faltu trend it is .. but it is what it is smiley39 which indian novel u read btw? jisme aisa tha?

But that said... there are some really good books out there where the chemistry builds naturally...I guess it just depends on the writer and the kind of story they want to tell. ... I’m always more drawn to the ones with actual depth in the characters

Btw you read novels??? smiley42 which ones have you read?

P.S. - yahi sab k wajah se I've stopped reading romance. I'm more into Khaled Hosseini's books these days ... Jhumpa Lahiri, Amish Tripathi too ! And sometimes RK Narayan smiley41

I'm also interested about which Indian novel you read that has such a plot?smiley36

Since I find indian books little more ah restrained?

Yeah… slow burn romance and a little drama are my trope too…

Of course I read novels.. one can’t write without reading… it was all popular authors in Telugu that I read since childhood along with the epic texts Ramayana, mahabharatam, Bhagavatam that were translated to telugu… I started reading English fiction only after coming to the US…

I don’t think so.. but I am sure native Marathi novels must be equally good. I am talking about novels from 70s, 80s, 90s. And Telugu literature is so diversified that each soul can find its genre of solace…

Its rare to find those kinda books now especially when everything's so superficial. I read lot of books.. atleast 3 books a week but finding that connect is very rare. Everything is same now a days. The guy is stupid as hell the girl is super understanding itna ki duniya me kahi na mile utna. And then the guy does some kand they separate and then he's repenting and saying sorry and its done or its the cinderella story poor trasleli girl what is the english for trasleli idk and rich guy and then he saves her. Almost all books have the same story line more or less. There's hardly any reality to it.

People now a days don't understand emotions I feel. There's no depth to the characters.

Would seriously love to read great books. Marathi does have some very awesome books but it takes twice the time to read them. I think its also the language barrier that make English books a bit boring. The language itself doesn't have depth. Our languages have so many words to describe every emotion.

Tvameva mata ch pita tvameva wouldn't have that impact if translated to English right?

Oh if you could please recreate that scene but this time Jodha saying it directly to Jalal with an intention to make him understand what she says.

Right? It's not possible to find all the terms that we find in our languages? Like even tras might translate to harrassed but it isn't accurate.

Tamil especially is so descriptive and evocative language. I've read few translations from Tamil to English and I'm amazed.

Marathi has amazing novels though the romance as a genre is slightly less explored I feel
