After I read about what he did to his own capable son - firstborn - and to all those who offered Khusrao support, I have zero respect for Salim (Jahangir) irrespective of what he might have achieved... Salim rebelled against his own father too... but Akbar hardly treated him that way... imagine ordering your guards to have wires inserted into your own son's eyes... which father does that? 🤢

And it wasn't like Khusrao was a Khalil... Khusrao was 'good man' and just prince - not a slave of addiction like he himself was! He was jealous because his son was garnering more support for the throne, than the numbers backing him!

Plus, the theory that Salim (Jahangir) might have slow-poisoned Akbar... ugh!

Because of how he treated Khusrao and the strife between father-son, his wife Maan bai (Jodha's niece) ended up suiciding, unable to deal with the depression...

worse, it is noted in texts that he did not even show remorse or grief when his other son, Shah Jahan had Khusrao murdered in the cell! Only sad that Shah Jahan didn't let him in on the secret before!

With all of this I am unable to watch anything that portrays Salim as a hero in it... not the Salim in JA! Not the Shaheer Sheikh Salim... because I only see a 🤢 man!
