Through my prayers to Allah, I have tried to speak to you many times over the years. And I do sincerely hope that at least some of those words have reached your ears in your Heavenly Abode.

There is much more I would have loved to share as a Farzan to his Walid, but haven't done so because I lacked either the words, the time or place.

But today, Abbujaan, I want to express certain feelings that the passing years have left in my heart.

I can still recall the advise you've given me as we sat and dined together, the games we played at noon and those confidential chats we had while resting in the shade. And just because life was not kind to me after you left, does not imply that I have forgotten the memories of happy childhood days and all that you had done to make my home a happy place. No amount of gratitude would be enough to express the beautiful example of a kind human you've been during my most important growing years.

I confess Abbu, I might have not followed all of your advise since. In fact, I am not even certain that when you look down from there, you are proud of what I do, of what I have become. But, I did try. I still do, Abbujaan, everyday - to better myself. For, I am quietly confident that a small part of you still resides in me.

And now, you would be glad to know that someone has come into my life - a Farishta, who ever so gently nudges me towards that goal of becoming a better man, in ways only she can fathom. A woman that you would have approved with all your heart, had you met her.

And it is for the sake of that Farishta, that as I sit here, undergoing difficult times, cut off from the rest of the world, that I pray for your grace so I may be able to save her and thus, the future of all our people. I hope my prayers shalt be heard, Abbujaan.
