* The Final Verdict *
Wiping the lush cascading waves of her hair, she bolted the door of her washroom. Walking hurriedly around the room, she stood in front of her wardrobe. Her eyes squinting in contemplation for a better dress to wear at the occasion. Though not so bothered about her appearance but still chose a beautiful off white long anarkali intricate with gold designs all over paired with a red stole, she sighed.
Standing in front of the mirror, she looked straight seems like searching in her own black deep pools whether she's happy with this. Did finally her life had entered on right track? Will he understand her? Damn! Will she understand him like him?
Confused with two him'? One with whom she's going to meet in few hours, a guy chosen by her family. Other him, a friend with benefit... chuck it! She sighed again. Forcing her min... heart to leave the past and move towards the bright future as others put it, precisely her friends and family, she picked up the dress and sighed again. So much of sighs at once! a low chuckle left her lips.

"Shivani, I'm looking good?" she asked the second time , as they both settled in their car to which her sister nodded rolling her eyes at her nervous being. It's a meeting fixed by their families before engagement. Not knowing about his reasons of consent, she herself didn't saw any reasons to deject this proposal like the others. The guy is devilishly handsome in his picture and seemed good natured from the small talks they'd on phone. Credit to the number exchange goes to their siblings.
A small smile involuntarily stretched at her lips, as she reminisced their very first telephonic conversation. Awkward! Is the perfect definition. More than her, he seemed nervous. The heavy yet husky voice mixed with stutters still manage to make her chuckle.
"Earth calling Di!" She heard her sister's teasing voice. Dropping the idea to glare her, she came out and watched the huge royal building with big capitals "The Blue Lake Restaurant" embedded on it. A lunch date! Her conscience mused in excitement of which she herself seems unaware about.
"Di, still stuck in Jiju's thoughts." She looked at her sister who has her tongue in her cheek. Managing a duh expression she pushed her head and walked towards the main entrance stifling a smile, not missing the irritated reaction of her li'l sister to her action.

Entering inside both the sisters looked around for the two familiar faces of her in laws, his sister and her husband. He'll come after an important work! He had informed her the same, though understandingly she has approved but still she can't stop herself from sulking. Just as she took a step back to increase her line of vision. She experience a hard being at her back and as to prevent her from falling a pair of arms held her forearms protectively, she bumped into someone. Argh!
Turning around with a full intension to apologize, her shining black orbs met with his warm dark brown. And there, a till now hidden smile bloomed majestically on her pink lips. She saw his own lips being lifted upwards in a heart melting curve.
A fake cough, from somewhere near them ended the blissful moment. Glaring at her sister, she straightened herself and smoothened the creases over the red stole. From the corner of her she saw him err did she dared to think adoring her with his warm eyes. His palms buried in his pants pockets, a close watch and she saw them fisted inside the fabric.
Finally, he tore his eyes from her petite form, something akin to reluctance clear in his stance he looked ahead to spot his sister and brother in law. She dared to steal a side glance to his alluring profile and found his gaze fixed somewhere at left with something akin to dreamy look. Huh! Confused at this she followed his line of vision and finally saw the awaited couple sitting on a bench. From the look it seems they'd come on their date completely forgetting everything beside them and the main purpose of them to be here.
Will she and him would resemble something like the perfect picture they're presenting, his sister and brother in law. Unwontedly the thought that maybe just maybe the same thing running in his mind overwhelmed her. The smile turned into a full blown grin.
Did she really moved on from her past! Don't know pat came the reply from her mind making her shiver. And the smile slipped off those beautiful pink lips. The depressing thoughts of past started to cloud the happy and excited spirits. A huge palm clamped her own small one snapping her out of those mind numbing thoughts. Looking up she found the same brown orbs etched with concern and worry evenly.
A fake smile tried to escape the confine of her lips.
"Don't worry, we will be better than them." She shivered as his husky voice reverberated near her ear sending tingles down her spine.
Finally the clouds of depression starts to ebb away as the soothing assurance sunk in replacing the fake curve with a genuine one.

Striding they'd to literally shook the couple, who'd the grace to blush. Now her sister, Shivani has joined the duo and they all are in some light conversation. We two, me and him, are royally ushered to most left corner table, which provided a bit more privacy than others.
Like a perfect gentleman he pulled a chair for her, she threw an alluring smile settling herself. Going around he to got seated on the other chair. Nervousness seeped into the environment as the situation of them to be alone sunk in.
Licking her lips, she looked up and found him observing her feigning normalcy. Clearing his throat, she heard him mutter a hi. To which she nodded nervously seems like altogether lost her ability of speech.
"How's you?" he threw the first question which came into his mind at the moment to initiate a conversation.
"Good.." I replied in a monosyllable. Not getting the head and tail as to what to say next.
"Umm.. Jodha!" Her head snapped up to meet his gaze this time a bit intense and serious. The way her name rolled at his tongue send tingles down her spine.
"Hmm.." she hummed not knowing how to reply to this.
"Are.. Are you really happy with this relation?" He asked, she tried to open her mouth to reply but he stopped her gripping her palm in his both hands from above the table.
"I know, you've answered this positively many times before.. But again I want a confirmation .. in a person." He added, clearly affected by the flick in her mood when they stood spotting his sister and brother in law. Her gaze landed to her palm enclosed in the safe and warm cocoon of his palms.
That hold silently promised her safety, affection, care and ... love.
The realization dawned on her, directly striking the delicate heart. And a tear escaped those beautiful orbs of mine, falling like a dew drop on our entwined hands , cascading slowly and finally merging in the confines of them.
Now, as she compared that good for nothing friend of hers, the first guy for whom her heart had harbored feelings, who didn't even cared to bother about the hurt he'd inflicted on them, the rivers of tears she'd shed to manage their bond which anyway broke after the limit of her bearing has crossed and now the man sitting in front of her just got worried with a single tear drop . Her heart finally provided her with the final verdict. The final verdict which brought along peace and bliss that her heart had been craving all along. Again realization hit her she had been searching all these in a wrong person when the right one is sitting in front of her. Getting hyper with each second and his grip tightening.
"I'm happy. More than I've ever been." She replied finally. Finally reliving him and her from the worries that had gathered around them in her few moments of silence.

Di, I can't think of anything better than this. From a long time, the thought to write a os on the above situation and presenting it for you has been roaming in my mind and I don't think if I'll get a better time than today. I don't have much time just written it in 2 hours. I've my exams and this thing isn't helping much to my jumbled thought process. I hope you like this😳
