After the farmaan chapter, this was another one I was going all 👏 for AMK... What a game plan.. how brilliantly he saved most of Parnagarh from shehzade using shehzade ⭐️ ⭐️

Yes I did... 😆 I've realised it takes me an entire day to edit the chapter.

But editing is not just cutting out parts that I feel get excessive (and in this chapter, I hardly cut out one or two lines...)

Here you go -

It was about how he tapped his fingers on the railing while he waited for the merchants to finish

Sliding his palm over the railing, Akbar gently tapped his fingers. Once.

Clink! It made a different kind of melody - the metal from the bottom of his ring against the stone of the railing. So, he did it again.

And again.

Merely something to keep him diverted, since the rest of the merchants were busy making routine enquiries with the Sahiba.

Why editing takes me so long... is because I carefully comb through every line for words that tend to get repeated often - once, look, like, time, every, more again, etc that wouldn't sound good if repeated too often unless the repition is deliberate. (I keep such words restricted to 10-15 times per update or I search for alternatives)

Then I search for phrases e.g just then, of course, nevertheless, yet and still to make sure I haven't repeated them more than twice or thrice in an update... (I tend to get carried away)

Then I comb for punctuation.

It just makes for good writing form.

Then there are those tricky parts (subtle ones) like their hush non face-to-face conversations on the stairs - the words for which, I go back and forth and back and forth with. 😆

So, it's not just cutting out 😃

What I have with me, the first time I've said 'appa... finished writing' overall might look similar to the finished product... but the end-product is vastly better, in my opinion.😳
