Apaaa after so long, Shruthi's koschuns came!🤗

Of course, I am no furniture expert but this is what I gathered from reading a few different sources...😳

Rosewood refers to the wood of different trees. (Somewhere I read there's almost 20 different types or Rosewood - Mahogany is in fact a kind of rosewood and so is Sheesham. But Sheesham is one of the more-affordable varities)

An excerpt -

Rosewood is essentially a type of hardwood. Rosewood is named as such due to the fact that the older trees have a very sweet and rich aroma, which is reminiscent of roses. Rosewood is best known for its dark brownish and/or reddish hue with darker veining. Sheesham is essentially a type of rosewood.

In terms of quality wood, Sheesham is one variety that comes closest if ever a comparison be done with those of teak or mahogany. The best part of Sheesham furniture is its characteristic of grain-like lines that provides a rich and distinct look when carved into pieces. That apart, this Indian rosewood ropes in good strength and durability thus making this hardwood a good option in the manufacture of furniture. It can also easily be patched up whenever the need arises. When it comes to affordability, here again Sheesham wins over as prices are lesser compared to other heavy timbers.

Teak, however, is not a kind of rosewood. And there's different opinions on which is more expensive - rosewood/mahogany/teak... I guess it depends on where the wood's sourced from and the craftsmanship.

Of course you could have an excellently made Sheesham table more expensive than a very poorly made rosewood/mahogany table... but still... but on the whole, Sheesham is more affordable than these three - that's something I came across in at least three 'wood-working' websites!

Also, I would think that very old and traditional wood workers would stick to the three expensive ones I mentioned... since most of historical furniture found in museums and pictures belong to these varieties.. 😳

Mounted archers, head adornments, footwear and now timber... I really feel like I know nothing!

Thanks for this - to those who knew and the one who replied. 😳

A very sweet update...Lashy...and the following lines reminded me of this pic...eventhough he did'nt do any such thing...His words thereafter...it felt more like 'That could've been the scene'..YOUR COVER PIC...

If only he could close in on her with two long strides, seize her wrists and arrest her within his clasp till she had no other go but to listen to what he had to say

Yes. So could i. 😳 And the 'Heera' as well. And the 'marry me' too. There is something about the reclusive manners of AMK that makes each of his whispers audible to the readers.

I wonder what will be our collective haalat when he gets passionate.😔
