C32- Twas a bittersweet homecoming for Heera. A pronouncement that was delivered with such finesse, belying her age, mightily impressing her most ardent admirer. The narration of all that happened in her endeavours to safeguard her people and her lands ended with the shocking news of THE deal that both of them had struck - a solution in the best interests of everyone- that of a union by marriage.

The news that came as a bolt out of the blue was palatable to most , unpalatable to some .

The official maiden tour of the house provided him an opportunity to earn her gratitude when he bypassed the two rooms that had great sentimental significance for the lady. On the other hand, it was the flourishing rose shrub that gave him some much-needed contentment.

The wedding preparations have begun in earnest, thanks to the haveli folk who have taken it upon themselves to make it an occasion to be talked about for years after , according it all the pomp and splendour befitting a royal matrimony. As the day of the nuptials draws closer ,the two restless souls are grappling with their mixed emotions at this life-altering step- that one half knows has to be taken for her safety while the other half is still trying to find her way out of the suffocating gloomy thoughts.
