Lashy di,

This was one chapter which made me realize what being speechless actually is. It's just like what Payal said... you want to say so much yet can't. 🤔 Still, I'll try speaking up as much of my thoughts as I can. 😆

You know what... when you said earlier that 26 is not for the faint-hearted... I thought it wasn't that turbulent. In fact, this warning should have been for 27. And why the faint-hearted...any sort of hearted person can't go through this without being emotionally turned upside down. Everything, from Heera's diminishing strength to AMK's concern to the unpredictable ways of K was mind-boggling to say the least.

Everytime K touched Heera... flashes of Chapter 3 came rushing back. The memory of that part makes me shudder even now... gosh... 😭 My blood boils at even the thought of K... Lashy di... Uski toh 😡🤢 Every disgusting word that I've ever heard falls short of what I feel for him... Please make sure he gets a fitting punishment... and that too by Heera.

Instead, the young lady had to learn to derive a burst of inspiration from what were possibly jiji's final attempts to save their lands - a masterful ploy, that she would NOT allow to go to waste. - Reminds me of 'Your mind is a weapon stronger than my sword..." And somehow these lines also made me feel Durga's presence! ⭐️

Also, this chapter was a flashback to another incident many months ago. Do you remember I had asked you once if AMK had met both the sisters, which one would have impressed him more? Your answer to it - the comparison of the storms to the calm winds - was what I recalled after reading this one. Both the sisters had dealt with K differently, one was fierce, the other calm yet firm. Is this why K treated Heera a lot differently than Durga? Because somewhere the ego-driven K couldn't see a woman fighting back? Because he was awed by this girl who could hold her own without challenging him? I want to know the reason of K's different approach to Heera - in your own words.

But, taking HER life? THAT, he was beginning to have second thoughts about. - Why? Maybe because he wanted to make her a slave, okay. Then why did he take Durga's life, he could have made her a slave too, no?

'The Marwari racer...' - Who would have thought while reading Chapter 2, that this horse-racing event is not just an occasion to showcase Durga Baisa's wit... that it's going to have such a lasting impact on the story. This horse again, brought back Durga. She's after all, helping her sis as much as she can from up there. And looks like the animal too understands the situation... maybe even recalls the last occasion Heera refers to.

All this time, when Heera goes to the horse and comes back, I was so sure someone's watching her, though I really prayed it's not so. But logically, the possibility of no one noticing an entire journey taken up by the prized prisoner is really low. So I was expecting some soldier turning up or something... but Khalil's words - the last line of part 1 - was chilling to say the least.

It was upsetting to witness an otherwise respectable grown man on the brink of a breakdown, upsetting to hear those cries of dejection from someone who obviously feared he was about to lose his everything. - Upsetting is such a tiny word as compared to what it felt seeing Khan Sahib like that. Can't even imagine how tough it must've been for him... knowing the danger on his beloved - that too partly because of him in his opinion - and yet not able to do anything worthwhile is the most depressing feeling in the world. It's a situation where the mightiest of men are rendered helpless... but this man deserves several rounds of 👏 being able to think straight even then.

But when he came to his third gulp, he froze. - Trust me, I froze too.

the noises they made whenever they recognised one of their 'own', out there in the distance. - This was such an unexpectedly pleasant surprise that I was almost 🥳 I thought the horse would really be captured and brought back... but well, I underestimated the capability of the horse that the elder Sahiba had chosen herself... probably she knew it then - that this one would be a lifelong companion.

For a fleeting moment, a soft flash drifted in front of her eyes, wherein she saw the faces of her loved ones. Jiji. Bapusa. Her people. Her home. Kakasa. Kakisa. 'Just stay safe, Sahiba...' - It was heart-rending to read the last few paras on Heera, Lashy di. To see someone we've always known as being calm, composed and dignified in such a weak state is moving...deeply moving. And you know what, somehow every bit of Heera's suffering reminded me of Durga... Thank God you didn't write that encounter in detail! 😭

'Please ma... the poison ring, at least...' - Reminds me of 'Durga Baisa was a fighter... but you are a survivor!" Things time does to people... This very survivor is asking for death...

This was not ideal at all. He would have to take aim exactly when Bahadur would be taking a huge leap. - Now by this point, I was literally praying for the arrow to hit the target. Gosh it was such a tricky situation... and I was imagining all the possibilities the arrow can go through. And when it finally hit K... thank god!! BTW, Is it even humanly possible to get such a difficult target right, under this much emotional stress, and when so much is at stake? Or is it just a Khan Sahib special? Anyway, he did pull it off in such dire circumstances...this man is just ⭐️

Yet, it was these last ten steps towards her lifeless form that were the toughest part of this entire journey. - It's like the last barrier of the chakravyuh...or the last leap before the finishing leap... One small thing on which the results of the entire feat depend...I can almost feel the tension, the anxiety!

Away from the bright campfires and from the constant glare of a hundred pairs of watchful eyes, it felt like a different world within the small bounds of this tent - so dark and so quiet. - The calm after the storm... It felt like a shelter after all that travel in the heavy rains...

'Recall what happened between us?' he sighed a bittersweet sigh - as caged emotions that'd been banging away at the doors, finally broke free - soaring upwards, taking him along, for a brief yet beautiful journey 'Sahiba, there's nothing else that I've been able to recall so fondly, ever since...' - You know di, I hate questions unanswered and words unsaid. And so I'm totally glad Khan Sahib decided to answer this one... maybe she didn't exactly hear it, but I'm sure her heart did! ❤️

And thanks a ton for ending this on a note we can stick to until the next update. Love you, Lashy di! 🤗
