Akkaaa🤗 I know I've been missing for too long. Don't whack me!
I finally read the last two chapters and it was all so so so emotional! Less time, so I'll leave a comment for both. It's gonna be random though, no sequence😆

Heera- I don't know what to say for her any more. The girl has been through so much, I probably can't come to imagine her state, the myriad of emotions she must be going through, all at once.
The only people she had by her side abandoned her, she's been humiliated, all the support she had is gone, her self- respect is in tatters.

And to see her stand strong after all this makes me PROUD. The fact that she COULD have lied when her personal life was being exposed, but didn't makes me proud. The fact that she stood against the wedding alliance till the end and didn't give in makes me proud.

The beautiful way in which she described her little journey with Khan Sahib to Gauri...it was as if she was reliving every moment of the journey one again. Gauri asking her if she would never see her friend get married ever and Heera saying Akbar was the sensible one who realsied they had no future, broke my heart.

As for Gauri, she's a gem! Her baisa's truth shocked her, broke her a little. But not for a moment did she judge her baisa, not a single thought questioning her Baisa's actions or character. Such friendships full of trust and genuine love for each other are rarest of the rare.

And in the meanwhile Akbar finally knows about Khalil and the Shehzaade's betrayal. I've always loved how Akbar's brain works, even in the worst situations. He's done the best he could have for Heera and Parnagarh and he did it so smartly! The Shehzaade had to give in. I especially enjoyed it when he brought the Shehzaade's father into it, it triggered his ego more and he gave Akbar the Mansubdar post.

Back to Heera..I HAVE to mention how much I love her maids and Mohan, Bajrang and Gokul. They have stood by her through thick and thin and are the most trustworthy, loyal people one can ever have in life. Not a single one of them showed a moment of hesitation or had any kind of doubt regarding their Baisa after all the way he character was questioned in public.
I love every one of them and it's never gonna sink into me that Bajrang is no more..and the manner in which his life has been taken. I just cried..I want him back!

And the same for Akbar..the men he has trained are people who are going to stick by him come what may. It's rare.

Oh and how can I forget the most important thing Akbar said- He'll marry Heera! It came so suddenly, I had to read it twice. Felt so good, so happy that he decided he's going to protect her and at any cost and also marry her and give her back her self- respect and dignity which had been stamped upon talking his name.

And lastly Khalil..I really cant hate this inhuman bitch more than I already do. But the fact that Heera surprised him and left him mystified by her replies gives me pleasure. She's been the only one till date and he's going to pay for all the disgusting things he's done and is doing.

And the two parts that gave me goosebumps- One where Heera was telling Guari about her moments with Akbar and second the part after Bajrang was brought back dead.

Update soon okay, I'll read it on time like I usually do. Loveddd the last two chapters, I really cried at some bits. You write so so so well...I just feel every emotion in the chapter, every bit of it. Love ya!🤗

Another wonderful chapter Lashy!

Sorry for the delay in reply, Shreya 🤗
I least expected a confrontation between Heera and Khalil. In fact I dreaded the Heera-Shehzaade encounter more than Heera-Khalil.
Oh... ok... 😲
I loved the way Heera stood up to that monster. She is feisty in her own way. She is compassionate, humble but not a door-mat. She is feisty and firm but not egoistic or unreasonable. A marvel of nature is she. The fact that a 16-year old partially-blind unarmed girl can keep the monster on his toes speaks volumes about her razor-sharp intelligence and emotional strength.
Yes... and I too love her for that
Eagerly awaiting the next chapter.
Thank you so much for this Shreya! 🤗

Thanks a lot for letting us know how the concept of HBAS was born and sorry for being so late with the reply.I had read it the next day itself, but couldn't type a reply.

🤗

Though the basic story line is same,I prefer the historical version over Basha Bhai one.The modern one sounds lil cliched as the probability of a lone girl meeting a stranger, who saves her and provides shelter, etc., is high rather than a lone 16 year old heiress along with her ppl hiding behind a stranger and falling for him after all those unusual encounters, who belongs to different religion...In short, only the historical version does complete justice to these lines from the prologue..Yet; in the midst of such turmoil and peril, there bloomed a beautiful story - much like a lone flower blossoming upon the steepest edges of a cliff - a story of love, of sacrifice and honour!

When written it wouldn't seems so cliched... e.g. NJAPA is a normal college love story.. but, the way it's presented is where all the difference comes...
But I do agree that the novelty of the period drama is more... it took a lot of days... a lot of 'voila' moments for me to be able to translate the modern version into a historical one..
thank you so much for the last few lines... ☺️

The period drama is always a challenging task to the writers and more fascinating for the readers. The limitations earlier generations had,be it the social, cultural or technological turn the story more enthralling. Also,we get to learn a lot of new things about the history.
It is definitely more challenging...
thanks a lot Bond 🤗
