This is part 2 of a 3 part series.

The present post talks about the events surrounding the death of Mughal Emperor Akbar.

This remains one of the most descriptive and exhaustive history posts written by me, and the information has been sourced from n number of historical accounts. From my side, no efforts were left to maintain the accuracy and providing the best content.

LOT of sources were used in this post, which include Mughal, Rajput, and a Portuguese Source.

2 hours proved very crucial on that fateful day. It was Khusrau who was going to be the Mughal Emperor, but suddenly the stars proved to be in favor of Salim.

The post is a collection of various chain events which ultimately led to win of Salim and Co and the defeat of Khusrau who was backed by Raja Man Singh, Mirza Aziz Koka, and even Akbar himself!!!

Here is the link :

2 HOURS that changed Mughal History | Death of Akbar - Victory of Jahangir - Defeat of Khusrau, Raja Man Singh & Mirza Aziz Koka | Story of treachery, loyalty & fluctuating fortunes - A detailed analysis from Portuguese account of 3rd Christian Mission at Mughal Court, Akbarnama, lesser known Persian histories & hitherto unknown Rajasthani (Jaipur) Manuscript | Part-2 of 3 part series

Do share your views about this event, and also if you have something new to share about the event.

The first part was about a picture drawn at the time of death of Akbar, whose link i shared earlier. Forum Thread Link Direct Post Link

This is really a interesting reading. There are lots of new things I got to know... specially this is the first time I got to know about Aziz Mirza - the son Atga khan, fine details about Man singh and his relationships with Akbar. Their first meeting was really amusing.
But It was really sad to read about Akbar's last days.

Hats off to you for all your hard works and thank you so much for sharing this valuable information with us. Really a great reading!👏

This second section of this particular series is definitely a treat... and rightly succeeds the former. Along with the detailed description of the people and their pivotal role in the making of an Emperor, it provides a commendable insight into the lives and the kind of political system rife in those days.

A special thanks for eloquently analysing the life and personality of Prince Khusrau, a man who was shortchanged by Fate... my knowledge of History is limited and so remains my fondness , but this remarkable blog, and this story it narrates certainly deserves a read!

The pictures are amazing, and so is the impeccable study of Man Singh, Azeez Koka, and the rest. The manner in which they have achieved so much within just two hours, and sealed the Fate of Hindustan, shows the kind of intellect these men of yore possessed.

It was important to give a thorough explanation of the people involved in this episode, because most of us are not aware of them. Man Singh and Aziz Koka are comparatively known, but Saiyad Khan and Raja Ram were new characters. I feel the introduction made the post clear.

Indeed, those 2 hours proved very crucial on that fateful day. It was politics, treachery and what not, which took place in those 120 minutes!

One can only imagine, how the future of our country would have been if it was Khusrau who succeeded Akbar. <- After the 3rd part only, this sentence would be more clear.

Thank you very much for responding.

Note - 1:

If you read / appreciate these posts, please leave remarks / likes on thread. That way, i, at least know how many are reading!

The audience is present, but invisible. I say this because the posts are still as much read as they were read when the show was running (in fact they are read more now!!). The interest is there. But i myself do not know who all are reading.

Note - 2:

Few folks have suggested me to send PM in case i make new posts* on Akbar / Jodha / Mughal history / or otherwise, in future. {*which i am definitely going to do.}

So, i am making a note here.

Option -1

You can subscribe to the posts via email. The subscription option is present on the top-right side of the blog on each page, along with the instructions to complete the subscription.

Its a 2 minute process. Lot of people have already subscribed. By subscribing, you will get an email whenever a new post in made on the blog. This would make the work easier, for me. LINK

Option -2

Please LIKE this comment / leave a comment on the thread, in case you want to receive a PM for future posts. Because, normally i don't send PMs for informing about my threads / posts. Also, send a friend request, if you are not in the friend list.

Thanks Kalgi.
For me, it was like reliving that particular moment.

Of course, the bond of Man Singh and Akbar stands tall among all such relations. Their first meeting remains one of the best anecdotes i have read about them.
