Chapter 2

Suraj Pov:

He is droping Rajni home after work as usual..he glaces towards Rajni (Jodha) who was sitting their quietly not talking as expected...I know there is something that constantly bothers her but what? Every time I ask her she always stalls the topic. In the time I have known her she has been so quiet and reserved but there is something about her that made me attracted to her..I love her and when I proposed her she didn't say yes or no to me..I don't know what to make out of that. I accept her no matter what..I don't care about her past or anything..I only want her...

The house arrived..

Suraj: Rajni I don't know what is it that you are always thinking about but sometimes in life you have to move on from your past if you want to live in the present

Rajni: I know Suraj

Suraj: Listen Rajni I want to marry you (she tried to interrupt) no listen to what I have to say..I promise you I will always keep you happy no matter what but I want to understand you completely and I want you to understand me and that won't happen unless you can trust me

Rajni (keeps her head down): Suraj I promise one day I will tell you everything..I don't want to say yes until I tell you the truth but (looks down)

Suraj (puts her hand on top of Rajni's hand): but what Rajni you can say it...

Rajni: But I am scared that one day this relation will also come to an end

Suraj confused: What do you mean?

Rajni (closes her eye in pain): Suraj I will tell you one day when I am ready

Suraj sighs: Alright Rajni whenever you are ready

Rajni: I have to go now

Suraj: Alright good night Rajni

Rajni smiled at him: Good night Suraj

Suraj: wow a smile...you look nice when you smile keep it that way

Rajni smiled: bye

Jodha went inside her house...she looked around her small house that she called home...Suraj's conversation replayed in her head... "maybe Suraj is right..I need to move on..its been four years since..." She came out of her thoughts..quietly she ate dinner and went to sleep taking her sleeping pills hoping that the nightmares don't come back

Flashback:

Jodha went to her college she met up with Meera and Rohit her two best friends in school...she spotted them in the canteen...

Jodha: Hey Meera what are you doing here? Where is Rohit?

Meera: Nothing just reviewing the notes from the class begins..did you study? I don't know about Rohit probably finding some new fish in the sea

Jodha: haha for Rohit there will never be enough fishes in the sea I wonder how we both were spared from his hunting lolz...I am so tired...I stayed up all night studying for this exam and in the morning my dad yelled at me for waking up late

Meera: haha what else is new with Rohit...you know I think about the same thing..we are the only two girls that he doesn't hit on...

Jodha: You make it sound like it is bad that he doesn't hit on us

Rohit: You guys talking about me? (Came up from behind and sat down in front of them..both Jodha and Meera looked at him)

Jodha: Please Rohit you are not that special that we would talk about you 24/7

Meera: Yeah Rohit get over yourself

Rohit: hmm it seems like I am special enough for both of you guys that you guys talk about me whenever I come (winks at both)

Both Jodha and Meera rolls their eyes..Jodha continued: anyway if you must know we were both thinking how we ever became friends with you

Rohit sighs: That is a million dollar question..I think the same thing...how I became friends with two langoors (Both gasps in shock)

Meera: What did you say? That is it...Jodha hold him down (Jodha goes near Rohit and holds his hands behind his back)

Rohit: What are you two doing? Let me go...ok ok am sorry I will take it back

Jodha: Two late..you called us langoors now see what we do (Meera comes near Rohit holding glass of water)

Rohit: Come on I said sorry..please give me another chance..i won't say it again

Meera stops: What do you think Jodha should we give him another chance?

Jodha: hmm I don't know Meera..am confused what should we do?

Rohit: I will tell you what to do hold on...(he yanks his hands off of Jodha and stands up just than the class bell rings both Jodha and Meera runs off with their books) I won't spare you too

Jodha: Yeah we will see..Good luck in exam bachu

Rohit confused: Exam?? Ohh shit...Jodha! Meera! Wait for me..You guys need to help me out...(he runs behind them to the class)

Flashback:

Jodha was hanging out with her friends when a phone call came:

Jodha: Hello papa...kya hua?

Rajiv: Jodha aaj tum kitne baaje aah rahi ho?

Jodha: shayd main 9 bajje tak ghar par hoongi

Rajiv: Alright beta..ohh haan I am having a guest over remember the business tycoon I was telling you about..he is coming over tonight

Jodha: magar aap toh usse pasand nahi karte hai toh aab kaya hua?

Rajiv: haan main nahi karta magar mujhe laga ki agar main use ghar boolakar theek tara se baat karoon toh shayid woh meri baat sunle

Jodha: hmm alright dad main aapse ghar aakar baat karoongi

Rajiv: Alright beta..bye..don't be late

Jodha: Alright dad..love you

Rajiv: love you too betae

Rohit: Jodha come on how long are you going to be on the phone

Jodha: Shut up Rohit...waise you should be talking nicely to me

Rohit: How about I give you treats some other time...that should give you both enough time to lose some weight..(both gasps) seriously, I have spoiled you guys with treats..Meera look at your stomach it is coming out and you Jodha your cheeks are getting so big and puffy...(stare at him shocked) just think I am helping you guys..if I give you guys another treat than no guys will come near you both...I am helping you like a good friend I am...well than lets go and hang out we don't have all night...(Jodha and Meera looked at him with anger)

Meera: My stomach is coming out huh?

Jodha: I have big puffy cheeks huh?

Rohit (walking back): Guys I am telling you the truth so that you guys can work on your flaws..

Jodha: You know what Meera...he is right

Meera: He is?

Jodha: Yeah since he helped us by letting us know our flaws we should be good friends and let him know his flaws as well (winked at her)

Rohit: What flaws do I have? (looks in the mirror) Girls die for me

Meera: Yeah am sure they do that is why you are still single (laughs)

Jodha: Anyway...Rohit hmm (looks at him from top to bottom) your height...you are short .no girl wants a short guy

Meera: Your face..you have a crooked nose which will scare any girls

Jodha: You need to build some muscles...you know Salman Khan type...a girl likes a guy when they have nice and tanned body

Meera: Yeah and

Rohit: Ok ok stop you guys! Alright you guys won..I am sorry for saying..now you guys want treats or not

Jodha (and Meera high-fived each other): yeh hui na baath

Meera: Don't mess with us

Rohit: Alright ladies lets go (he puts his arm around them and start walking to ice cream shop) did you guys really mean all those stuff about me (Jodha and Meera laughed and ran to the shop) Guys tell me! (ran after them)

Jodha came home around 10:00 pm...she hoped that her dad won't be mad at her...she went straight to her kitchen...

Jodha: kaka papa kaha hai?

Kaka: woh apne study mein hai apne guest ke saath kuch discuss kar rahe hai

Jodha (shocked): abhi tak?

Kaka: haan woh bahut ziddi hai..Jalal nahi raha

Jodha: hmm alright kahane ko kya hai aaj? Bahut bhook lagi hai

Kaka (laughed): maine kaas tumhare liye kheer aur puri chole bacha kar rakhe hai...

Jodha: kaka you are the best

Kaka (confused): yeh besht kya hai? (pronounced best wrong)

Jodha (laughed): iska matalb hai ki aap bahut aache hai..aab aap jaaye aur sojaye main kahana khud garam karke kahloongi..good night

Kaka: alright beitiya

Jodha heated the food and quickly carried her plate outside to the dinning room table...she went to her bag and took out her favorite book she usually reads whenever she gets time..

Meanwhile in her dad's study room

Rajiv: Mr. Muhammad hum agle teen gante se wahi same baat repeat kar rahe hai...why don't you understand that I cannot give you of what you are asking I will be left with nothing...

Jalal: joh aap mujhe offer kar rahe hai woh mujhe nahi pasand..joh main chata hoon wohi mujhe chahiye...

Rajiv: main aapko pura control nahi de sakta...I can only offer 50% that should be enough...

Jalal (takes a sip of the wine): 50% percent is not good enough...in fact you should be lucky enough to work with Muhammad Textiles...

Rajiv (angry): itna ghamand aacha nahi hai Mr. Muhammad

Jalal (gets up calmly): Alright it was nice meeting you Mr. Sharma...aap nahi jante aapne kis ko na kaha hai...I will take your leave..good night (he smirks)

Rajiv (angry): Good night..am sure you know where the door is at..

Jalal (smiles): Will do..good night

Jalal makes his way down...suddenly he stopped when he saw a girl sitting at a dinning table..eating and reading a book with dim lights on...he found himself staring at her beauty..he smiled looking at the way she was eating and changing her face expression while reading...her smile was so magnificent...he didn't know how long he has been standing there seeing her...he suddenly came out of the trance after hearing his phone...Jodha turned to see where the noise was coming from...she saw a guy leaving her house...she was about to get up when she saw her father coming down

Rajiv: Jodha beta tum abhi soye nahi? (Jalal heard her name before going... "Jodha..hmm nice name" he smiled and left)

Jodha: Woh actually papa main apni book parte parte pata nahi chala time kaha chala gaya...

Rajiv: maine kitni baar kaha hai tumhe yeh aachi addat nahi hai..go and sleep now

Jodha: Alright papa good night...

Jodha POV:

Maine aaj Suraj ko uske sawal ka jawab doongi..after a long time I am felling so happy..

I have every right to be happy as well...he wouldn't find me anyways...It has been so many years...magar main apna dil Suraj ko puri tarah nahi de sakti...pata nahi kyun magar Jalalmagar main koshish zaroor karoongi...I don't know how he will react..I know I will be happy with him...he will never hurt me...I just hope babaji protects me and Suraj

Magar kya mujhe Suraj ko batana chahiye ki main Rajni nahi par Jodha hoon?

Tears starts to roll down her eyes...my whole identity, my father and my friends were separated from me...nahi main Suraj ko kuch nahi baatongi...woh insaan mera past tha...aab woh meri zindagi main kabhi nahi aayega...
