You've got to be kidding! The girl looks like a suet pudding.Poor Rajat! He lands up with lemons of one kind or the other.

But that hardly matters as much as the choice of Chanakya, for the real lead pair in Chandragupta Maurya would be Chanakya and Chandragupta.

That is what worries me the most. That Manoj Kolhatkar is still the weaselly mahamatya in Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat, and he actually helped murder Chanakya as part of the group of conspirators, each of them stabbing him, like in the assassination scene in Julius Caesar.He looks like a dyed in the wool, time-serving apparatchik, and he is periodically nearly strangled by his patron, Rajkumar Sushim, in one of his rages. He looks like a plucked chicken, with a long neck, a prominent Adam's apple, and eyes that pop out any time he is taken aback ( and of course nearly strangled😉).

This man is going to play the greatest strategic thinker India has ever had and one of the greatest the world has ever seen? And what kind of image will he carry over to CGM from Ashoka, which the potential audience for CGM would still be watching? It is a casting catastrophe of the kind one does not expect from Ekta Kapoor.

And my pet, Jalal ethereal?? That always conveys an impression of being not of this world, fey, very delicate. His Jalal was very much of this world, full blooded, rumbustious, bull-headed in anger, and just as gentle in affection and love, to the point of inviting comparisons with a marshmallow left out in the sun. 😉 No, dear, not ethereal, though I love the word per se.

His Chandragupta looks very different, which is as it should be. The face is cold and commanding, emotions well under control, but eyes are lambent with an inner fire. And this can be seen even in these less that optimal photos. I am waiting for the real thing.

Well, I suppose Anjali had no choice as the CGM forum is not there as yet.

Secondly, of course the Jalalphiles from the Jodha Akbar forum will naturally come over to the CGM forum as soon as the show goes on air, thanks to Rajat.

If they had cast Manish Wadhwa as Chanakya, he would have brought his own following to the show from Day 1.

That is inevitable, and that is the main secret of successful casting. I have no problems with that. I am sure that CGM will soon build on this foundation and go from strength to strength, but one should not disdain the foundation. Why should one insist on its reinventing the wheel, so to speak?

Well rajat isn't a baby tht he will be forced. He is a professional nd he will happily do anything. He isn't a person who will bother who is opp him. Nd for me nd many others he was forced in ja as well especially when ja was about to start nd jodha's look been wasn't being released. Nd after having so much craze about prc jodi it was more tough. So we never know wht will happen. So i feel we should give a chance. Not to hurt anyone but I think we should wait nd watch after all in ja also many adjustments were there. If sumthing goes wrong I will be the 1st person to criticise. Nd if sum one's past is bothering then another past is she is a national award winner nd had been appreciated for her previous performances by critics. I'm no one's fan but I guess chance can be given.
