No no Diksha di. I am not at all expecting him to console her or something like that at this point of time. It is too early for that.
But it did not seem that he even noticed her reaction to his news. He just told his news, thanked her, and asked her to leave. That felt harsh to me at least. Not for a single second did he actually look at her and try to think what effect this has on her.
the thing is, now that he has accepted his own love for her, he even knows very well, that her tears will be his melting... he knows how this news will affect him... and that's why he behaved in that way...may be we feel it harsh, but had he looked at her, and saw the tears in her eyes, he would have felt weak and he might have taken back his decision, but in future that will be seen as a failure of an emperor...
and he won't certainly like his love to become his weakness, that will affect his decisions...and as u say abt not seeing her condition, then he doesn't need to... he very well knows , how she must be feeling... coz had he been unaware of her feelings of if he didn't care for it, then he wouldn't have bothered to talk to her personally...like I said, I didn't like the way he dismisses her in the end, but at the same time, watch his face after she leaves... her pain is reflected on his face, with his own helplessness towards his duties
