But I feel that you are simply translating on to your diary the Jalal we were shown on the screen, not the Jalal you should be creating for yourself and us. Someone who is more complex and has different layers, one that he shows to the world, another to those he wants to impress, like his Khan Baba, another only to his inner self, and so on.

I know that it is not easy to think like someone who is very different from yourself, but then you know, my dear, that if an actor were to say he could only play characters who were like himself, he would not get far, would he? It is the same with writers.

Try out what I have recommended for once, and I think you will have a lot of fun fleshing out your very own Jalal. And your readers will enjoy him even more.
