Sandhya my pet,

What a relief to find your comments, with which I can generally agree in toto, thus obviating the need for supplementary comments! My poor fingers hereby give you a heartfelt vote of thanks for that!

These days, my second round of comments seems largely devoted to defending my takes on Jodha. This is a problem that bids fair to get worse as we proceed, and I might well end up in a minority of two with only Adiana for company!

Why, here even you have said, to my great surprise, that

I didn't find Jodha particularly disdainful. Her stand-off attitude could also be identified as the shyness and fear that a new bride has in an alien atmosphere. It wasn't all that disrespectful to Jalal considering what was to come in future.

Your last sentence might well be true, but as for the rest, I cannot buy it at all. A shy bride keeps her eyes lowered. She does not keep her nose elevated in the air as soon as her husband appears, as if he was a bad smell. Nor does she keep this up right thru the cultural performance at which all those present were smiling in appreciation.

Jodha's behaviour was graceless and undignified, and it must have disappointed Hamida above all, which is why, though she must have disapproved strongly of what Jalal did in making Jodha sing in the assembly, she did not come near her at all at the end to console her, but left.

Couldn't resist... Today Jalal gave Jodha the impenetrable irrefutable iron clad zubaan that he will not touch her.🤣 Yes, but it was a sui generis commitment, not tied to her wanting him to touch her, which is what it miraculously became over time!😉

I agree Shyamala. Jodha was behaving the martyr and that she admits as well when Moti was bandaging her. As for the singing session, my Jodha would have demurly lowered her eyes and deviously thrown the ball back in Jalal's court by saying - yes Shahenshah if it's the pratha of the Mughal khandaan for a new bride to sing in public then I'll not let you down - and said this loud enough for Hamida to hear and then she could have just sat back and enjoyed Jalal squirming😉

My dear Lavanya,

Thank you for such a detailed set of comments, with a large part of which I agree. I am marking the best of these in blue.

But not on Jodha at the jashn. However, I, or rather my poor fingers are tired of rehasing the same arguments, so I shall simply repeat that I found her graceless and undignified, and refer you to my responses above to Donjas and to Preeti. It seems that as the series proceeds, and my dislike of Ekta's Jodha deepens, I shall be mostly resorting to the "agree to disagree" mantra to save myself a lot of strain!

Such comments I have are in blue italics.

Exactly, my dear Adiana, but where are we to find your Jodha? In fact, as the series proceeds, I suspect that you and I will be in a minority of two wrt Ekta's Jodha!

Dear Shymala,
Any progress on the voice recognition software. I have another link for you to read- http://download.cnet.com/Free-Voice-to-Text/3000-7239_4-76115951.html

It is ranked No-1 on cnet voice recognition software category and it is free. Please give it a try. You must give your hands a rest.

Also have a look at this article which is a buying guide of microphones for speech recognition software-

And to top it all madam has the audacity to ask of her pati parmeshwar to keep up this very facade for her parents which she disdained from. Didn't she know such a situation would arise and then what face would she have to ask Jalal that which she couldn't do herself. And this is my grouse with this Jodha. As you say, she talks big and she wants from others that which she is not ready to do herself. And she doesn't have vision. Warna she would know that there would come a time when she would need her husband's help in keeping up a happy facade for her family.
I hate it when women are portrayed so and then are further dubbed as being strong. There is no strength in foolishness.

One more reason as to why you should write that ishq kahaani about Jodha and Akbar. This will be savoured by our gang. While Akbar will love and respect his harem, ladies, he will have that extra spark for only Jodha, you get the drift ?!!! Our kind of prem kahani. 😃
Intelligent, Smart, Compassionate, good looking but one who can also misbehave, demand things from Akbar and most importantly admire and care for Akbar.
I need this to come from you to erase all that was dished out - 2 - 4 feet, bhashaan after bhashaan, sweet sugary nothings to highlight mahanta. 😆

Wonderful analysis Shyamala...

Shyamala there was nothing wrong in the way Jo behaved and I completely agree with Donjas that not every women who was brought into that harem was smiling...In fact I bet most were not ...

Why should Jo show any consideration for Jalal for the sake of public? Why this onus of keeping public appearance on Jodha only?..and frankly right now she is in no state to make any calculated move...

I am happy that Jo sang that song abt Rajput valour...and why should she be defensive abt her clan ? If she was insulted by Jalal and was made to sing in public then she also made them squirm...

And frankly Jalal got everything by this marriage and Ameris got something too but it is Jo who was the bait or sacrificial lamb who got nothing...So why should she not enjoy little bit of luxury that she gets...As far as her being married to a wife beater rajput king , this comment is more applicable to a woman like Ruq ...Wish she had married someone like SD, Abul or Adham khan...not a kann ka kaccha Jalal...

Shyamala here Jalal is wrong by dishonouring his wife in full court view and I cant find any sympathy for him in my heart...I too will feel irritated with Jo's mahanata later on, especially to a woman like Ruq, but right now Jo stands tall in my eyes...

This thread has become interesting - Views and Counter Views - I will catch it all.
But these are the episodes from where the story started tilting from a balanced view of objective story telling to mahantaa highlighting.
Every single episode from now on puts a halo around Jodha mata. Until it comes to a stage where last episode Jalal has nothing to do except pressing the feet of Jodha, I mean literally. 😆
What a fall !!!!

Ela my dear,

I am very glad that you liked this one.

As for apni Jodha, I knew what you were going to write even before you wrote it! I still remember our long debates about Jodha 2 years ago which never came to any mutually acceptable conclusion, and no wonder, for our views on the matter were poles apart!

I am exhausted from explaining my take on this Jodha, and you have every right to have yours. So let us just agree to disagree, shall we? I must warn you, however, that as we proceed, I shall become more and more exasperated and irritated with Ekta's mahaan Jodha who can never be wrong, and there will come a time when you will not like my posts at all. And if the tribe of Jodha defenders here becomes the majority, I shall just stop writing, for it is no point being out of sync with the bulk of your readers. Let me see if it comes to that, and when. As it is, these posts at times feel like homework, with my fingers protesting loudly!
