Hey Guys...

Making a post as a tribute to Akbar, as we are discussing Jodha Akbar in this thread.

The Format:

1. REAL Akbar..
2. REEL Akbar..
3. One track from the episode which i loved a lot due to it's historic importance..

REAL Akbar..

Writing about Akbar's mysticism and his views on religion, to the best of my knowledge and understanding.
Abhay, again you came with your Deep thoughts about.Mysticism, this world, sents person, mysticisim, journey. this journey ends, when person found real Truth,

I will try to sum up his thought process in as much short post as possible. One of the reasons, why i have NOT made a "conclusive post" TILL NOW about Akbar and his views on religion and mysticism is - The more i read, the more diverse views i get about his thinking. And, in turn, i turn to find answers of the new questions, leaving the older ones unexplored.!

Abhay i not read, how much you read in books, But acc to my knoweledge,Mostely we say, Akbar was sent by, God some work. or he travelled, Soul journey with Jodha
If a person travells, Soul journey, means, Which he learnt, His thirst was't fulfilled
or he wants to know more, till then, when he will not feel relax, core of his or her soul
so he went, every, religion or mysticism world, deepest, but cause of his hunger, he
went on next on next. so words will always feel less, if we analysis, these type of personalites. he did mistakes, but he reached where, "WHERE LESS PEOPLE REACH"
Many ex, in our books, recalling some, Ganika, was prostitute, but her concern with lord was amaging, or she achieved lord. ungalimar, Valmiki, who changed, Own fully
i am not comparing, these with Akbar, Everybody has its own unique style. my mean
Handling all over kingdom, his Eternal Growth not stopped, or more or more curiosity,Turned him, totally internal level, so its no end.😊so always about him things will be unexplored.

I am struggling with myself and at times, i am left debating in my mind, about various actions and the reasons why Akbar took certain steps.

.
Struggling, will sure giving, more experience , or your internal growth will sure, happen, maybee reason, Akbar research.😆

Read the views of Donjas, Devki, Charu, Radhika, Preeti and other about this issue on this thread. Hence the post.!

I have posted my views on the history sticky.
Link of my Post related to mysticism : Click Here to Read on Sticky

Note:
These were my personal views. :)

REEL Akbar..

One thing i would say that he is put life in the scenes and one can actually FEEL the power this man gives to the character. A role of a warrior will suit him a lot, as he can give that FORCE to the character he plays. Note any of his initial fight scenes of JA.

I can keep on writing many scenes.
But these are the ones which remain etched in my mind.

1.
I have enjoyed the episode when the Pilgrim Tax was removed. The dialogues he said were superb. I still remember the comment i made after the episode that time, last year.!

2.
Another one is his visit to the Dargah with Jodha after the marriage.
I love that Sufi song : Mak-un'tah Gakk'ul...~Behte Hue Paani par teri hi likhaee~

3.
The episode when Akbar comes after the Shah-i-Iran track from the war, and meets Jodha in Dargah. The BG Music and the atmosphere created by the Sufis in that shot was amazing. Gave a nostalgic feeling. Unable to express that in words...

Yes that scenes , Reach person top of, The world, so words describing, that scenes very tough, but real Akbar listens sufi, or, Tensen Music, he sure, felt top of the Timeless movements that time, because not feeling about them, person how can travell soul journey,;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;These movements always push him, next to next.we can say meditation period.goose bumps movements.

albela sajan aayo ri
mora hatwar sukar aayo ri

albela sajan aayo ri
albela albela albela albela alebela albela
jyot purao magal gau sanann saanan
jyot purao magal gau man rang ish payo ri

One track from the episode which i loved a lot due to it's historic importance:

Though the makers did not show it as it should have been, considering the importance. But i was happy to write about this. So, no issues with the makers. Here also, i would thank them for at least touching this aspect. Had they not touched this event, at least i would not have dug up for myself.

i think, Akbar has Astemena at a time handling outer +inner world age one point, that's quality comes less people, thats quality makes Akbar Akbar The Great.

I am talking about the Shah-i-Iran track. It was very much a historical and important event. It talked about how complex was geo-politics even in those days, and sheds light on the fact that "diplomacy is very much an ancient art" and how interwined were the religious issues. Yet, the MASTER-STROKE was something which left me stunned. I kept on wondering about the daring action..!!

Here are the LinkS.. I remember spending around a month reading & understanding what would have gone through Akbar's head ; and then writing about the Shah i Iran incident ..
{
VERY LONG posts : Shah i Iran Part-2 & Shah i Iran Part-1
}

I guess we all will agree, this show created a lot of interest regarding history among all of us.!

Yes Maybee who read History, Maybee in future, some will not read deep history, but
cause of Movie, or serial Akdha will Alive forever.

PS :
Will make another such short post as a tribute to Heer Kunwari / Harka Bai / Mariam-Uz-Zamani, when time permits.

Views are welcome. :)

Waiting.

Syria,
Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts here. Reading every second comment on this thread is taking me back to those awesome times when this forum was full of life. Tough to believe, but it is true at the same time - That a TV show could bring together so many people and give us so many beautiful memories which would not be forgetten. I've enjoyed each and every moment, of those times. It was an amazing experience. :)

Thanks so much for this wonderful thread Abhay. You have posted pictures from my favorite episodes. I started to watch this serial when Jodha was laying her conditions to Jalal and since then I have not missed any episodes till date. It was the fascinating story of Akdha and indeed the very talented Paridhi and Rajat who got me addicted to this show. They had that innocence, simplicity in addition to being extremely talented that got me hooked to this show. I then started to read more about Akbar and Jodha and thanks to you for all the wonderful posts and your blog. Then I made up my mind that I have to visit Delhi, Agra and Sikri and finally visited last week. We were provided with knowledgeable Guides who had masters from medieval history as I had told the travel agent that I am very much interested in knowing more about Mughal History and to add Sikandra also to our trip. It indeed was nostalgic. Akbars tomb, the silence with People sitting and praying and reciting quran with respect. Muz's tomb also indeed was in a very good condition and the guide told me that recently they are charging fees to visit her tomb which made me happy. In Agra fort, Akbar had demolished his Palace and built a Palace for Muz. She indeed was special. Finally in Sikri Got to see Rukaiya Palace, Salima Palace and MUZ Palace. Ruks had a very small Palace and Salimas was a little bigger than Rukaiya. Salima and Muz Palace was next to each other and Ruks was far away from them. Jodha Palace was so Big, Salima's looked very Puny in front of Jodha Palace and Jodha had a winter and summer bed room with a special Pooja room, Kitchen etc..I have all the photos Abhay which I will PM you.

Above all I enjoyed and got to know because of Parijat as Akdha and want to take a moment to thank Ekta as well. Thank you ABhay for the same. I felt like I was walking in the footsteps of Akbar and Jodha and felt so emotional at times

Thanks for sharing this very special and very informative post with us . Much appreciated ! 👏 🤗

Thanks Abhay for the pm. I learnt a lot from your history threads and your passion and perseverance is laudable. Frankly you do make remarkable threads.

The show is ending after its good 2 year run. Well credit must be given to Zee and Ekta for making Jodha Akbar which became very popular that not only it did it reach no 1 position but there were advertisements ( I have seen 3 FMCGs adv) made on Akbar. At least now kids know who was Akbar's father! Besides it won international audience for Zee. There are so many fans worldwide on twitter and facebook who loved Jodha Akbar.

As I had said earlier too, I had started watching the show from the shahi saptah promo being aired. I was actually engrossed in my work and Mom had left the TV on when she left. The promo caught my eye and it did look appealing. I had no idea about the cast and presumed all were newbies. Only from this forum I came to know about the background of the cast. The sets were nice, the back drop different and the actors good. It made an interesting watch. The tracks used to finish off in 2 weeks and new story started. It was fast paced. There are so many good scenes or moments which have already been listed by members here. That in itself means the show left its mark on the hearts of people.

In the early days the story focussed on the hatred between Jodha and Akbar and later falling into love. Even after consummation the writers could manage to keep it interesting and entertaining till the twins birth. The show was doing well till they came up with the obnoxious idea of twins death and thereafter the dreaded leap. I think after this the TRPs went down. Ekta is known to be the leap queen after consummation but she should have paid attention to the feedback of audience. Also making the negative or evil always winning is bound to irk the viewers. Maham, Adham, Sharifuddin were punished but then Ruqaiya? A story needs a villain or negative character but sadly the writers made Ruqaiya invincible and deplorable. They should have kept her a shade of grey but they turned her into complete black. She should have been punished during the fake pregnancy track and the afeem thing should have not even been thought off. They could have sidelined her for some time and bring her back later. I stopped watching after the deplorable twin death track. For me that was crude. Blaming a loving mother? Sick mind of writers. Also the tracks were being dragged and the serial slowed down.

Coming to the lament on history, frankly the show wasn't supposed to be that so if that was desired then it's a misplaced expectation. Frankly the resultant frustration is self-created. The show was meant for entertainment or else there are probably 1000's of documentaries on Akbar but who watches them? As you might recollect, history classes in school were always snooze fest and unfortunately they were scheduled in the afternoon. Tough keeping the eyes open. History is open to multiple interpretations and you cannot rectify the wrongdoings unlike science which is precise and corrections can be made. History is mystery at best!

Coming to the objections for show being focussed on harem, well where else could the story actually shown to be? The show was meant to be about Jodha and Akbar then how on earth can they manage to show both of them? In the battle field, during war? in darbar? In special courts? In public gardens or jungles? The place where Jodha resides is the harem and hence Akbar is shown to be there. Where else can the duo meet? There weren't any clubs or theme parks or restaurants or movie theatre to go to? Its hilarious and strange that the duration considered most entertaining of the show is where the show focussed most on harem! And when the writers actually moved out, the story lost its grip and viewers. Actually in the hatred phase, there was interest build up to know how would Jodha react, what would Jalal do? This tension or curiosity made the show entertaining. Later on it was clear that Jalal and Jodha love each other and the inept writers kept on showing Ruq feels jealous, she plans, schemes and is spared. It got boring and annoying. The paucity of ideas amongst the writers is the reason for the serial losing its grip.

Ekta must be applauded for keeping the romance dignified, classy, noble and royal. The show brought forth something new and unique the "finger romance". It would have been easy to fall prey to the crass and titillation but it's a lesson to be learnt that the shows which did enter that territory failed miserably and those shows went off air. Tantalizing is not what wins your heart, it is the warming moment or the feeling behind the action that does. It's the class that wins and not crass.

From this show, Ekta successfully created an image of Akbar far from a conqueror to an affable man whom people can like and feel good about. About Jodha she made her into a brave and sacrificing woman with a golden heart. History shares very little about her so whatever Ekta has created is what people will relate her with.

I have never watched Ekta shows and this was the first. May be I won't watch another one or maybe I will. Still criticising Ekta for Jodha Akbar is unfair because she has been very straight forward and stated in media " Don't like it, don't watch it". NO one has put a gun on your head, you have the remote change it. I didn't like it I stopped watching it. Later on perhaps the TVT meter houses too stopped watching and hence the TRPs fell. Simple rule in life, you don't like a product, you don't buy it. In fact Ekta during one of the press conference even said that if JA fails then its her failure. She will learn to live with it.

Let us credit her for making the show and that too a successful one. It has given so many viewers cherishable memories of Jodha and Akbar as indicated by fans on twitter, facebook and here on IF. On the actors, both Rajat and Paridhi both did a great job and both made an impact and created great chemistry. So much so that both Rajat and Paridhi became popular stars internationally! How many TV actors get that chance? Wishing best of luck to both of them.

Ekta has always been a trend setter for themes and hereto she started one. There will shows made on Jodha Akbar but then the first one will always stand out.

This being the last week, I did watch the episodes and it seems the writers are trying to win over audience. The episodes this week have been entertaining and fast paced. The show is going off air is because the writers are paying back for their incompetencies in the story board. And yes again Ruq will be spared the horror but not the audience. That's Ekta for you.

( If any of the member/s recollects the episodes where Jodha played the role of possessed woman and the episode where she is freed from the ghost, please tell me. I have heard rave reviews from ardent soap watchers about Paridhi's performance and would like to watch it)

What a sublime post on the last day. I wish I had a chance to read more of your work. Very few have managed to touch so many topics in a single post and given such cogent arguments for each.

Loved reading it.

Here is a thread where you can get some pics also. Episode : 15th June 2015. J-J get remarried in this episode. This is the last episode till where i watched religiously as i did not like Jodha to play a possossed woman, though Paridhi was good as per the reviews i heard.

A very beautiful sufi post. You have said everything , what i wanted to say.

I loved this show. In starting this show had a great potential, a very beautiful concept about the love story of different people who were differenrt from each other in every aspect. They had given so many beautiful track which compelled us to watching this show. And we had a very good talented lead actors who respectively justified their role. Even side actor as ruk, salima, maham anga ,adham , todarmal atgha khan, there respective actors they all were so good in their role.

There are so many scene which i liked so much as shahi shadi sapatah track, whole ghrina track, poision drank scene, their sword fighting scene, all dargah scene, salim chisti track, todarmal entery, their love phase, consummation scene all were so good.

And i will never forget after every episode how everyone in this forum used to discussed every single bit. And even if any offscreen pic come releated to track every member started to discuss as benazir and atifa dress. Those days were amazing.

And Abhay , i really want to thanks to you for your historical post. Because of your post my intrest increased to read about akbar and jodha and their relationship. You have put so much effort to dug all those information which is truly apperciable. And abhay i will never forger your historich thread and your daily episodic thread. A big applause for your great work. And thanks for this beautiful thread and everyone who put their effort here.

Pooja,
Thanks for posting your views. Glad to have your opinions here on this last memories thread. You have listed many memorable scenes. Yes, entry of TodarMal gave a positive stimulus to the show. :)

so he went, every, religion or mysticism world, deepest, but cause of his hunger, he
went on next on next. so words will always feel less, if we analysis, these type of personalites. he did mistakes, but he reached where, "WHERE LESS PEOPLE REACH"

{
VERY LONG posts : Shah i Iran Part-2 & Shah i Iran Part-1
}

Though my sister Mac was more active than me but I used to be big on silent reading too !

Abhay , show will end one day , but those lingering essence of memories won't ever evaporate from our hearts. I'll be following you in whichever forum you'd go after this one. I've request - could you pm me if you make any past, regarding any thing ?? Any thing at all ! Because frankly , I'd read your grocery list.

Yes, I'm watching CAS , but it's pretty crappy on historical accuracy ( huh ! Who's surprized ?? ) , tolerating only for Siddharth n Pallavi Suvash. But , not much active in the forum , which is practically one Trolls Unlimited Thread. Won't ask any decent person to visit CAS forum, nope !
Keep in touch , buddy. Will miss you , Sonia, n my Ela di the most !

Garu,

Truly agree with all you have written here. Not possible to forget anything. We enjoyed a lot in this forum and taking back lots of memories from here. :)

Though, these days i have restricted majority of posts to blog only, and we discuss anything, quite freely there. I will surely be PMing you if i make any post, but for that i need to know what you liked reading ? I will make posts in JA / MP , or Ashoka Forum only, as of now.

Abhay ,
I am really very sorry for the late reply to this post.
Well ...this is such an amazing good bye post for my(once upon a time) beloved show.
I enjoyed not only this show but the forum and really had a gala time here.
When I started watching this show and started loving it ,I used to warn myself of not getting addicted to it as it was EK show. But somewhere I thought ,those days ofcourse, that EK might treat this show differently as it was a historical saga.
But then some people never change and EK is among them.😕
I started losing interest in the show when MA hurled curses to Jajo .They did not stop here but they even showed young Salim addicted to opium. This was height of ignorance and compromise of ethics and morals by PH.Do they really know what is called as "business ethics" and are they aware of their social responsibility ,when it has been proved thatTV has so much influence on its viewers.
Though I read many rave reviews of Laboni track ,thanks to Paridhi's marvelous acting but still I didnot like the idea of showing a respected queen as "haunted."
Yes ,there are so many discussions about Akbar being shown as dumb and I really agree with them as it's really maligning the image of a great King. But more than that I feel MUZ being shown dancing infront of Britishers is more of an insult of this great King.
Anyways l wish all the best to this talented duo ,RT and PS and also to you ,who was the reason of our interest in history .I enjoyed all the discussions with you be it political ,historical ,sports etc and look forward for more of them.
