But no that scene came as a surprise!
And what a performance.
The way he was performing and ecplaining to his son smultaneously was amazing.

That scene really stole the show .

absolutely amazing! but during that kids phase my all time favorite is mamu bhanji and nothing can beat that! rajat's expressions were as real as they can be..brilliant👏

Rememeber the time when Hamida Bano gave hima visit?
Jalal was so cold towards her back then.

The way she asked kya tumhe hmari yad nhi aati?

And he replied
"Aati hai. Jab hum kisi bache ko laawaris rota dekhta hai, akela dekhte hai tab apki yad aati hai marium-makhani"

The way he said those lines!
Who cannot help but to change yout perspective according to thr man in front of you. You start seeing things from the pov of a man who is known as Jallad.

apoorva, i just saw that episode recently and yes his this very dialogue bought tears to my eyes that how painful it might have been for the real akbar to be brought up by some dayi ma and not his own mother and also he lost his father at a tender age of 13..and the emotions portrayed by rajat when opening his wounds to HB of not being loved by anyone was heart wrenching!

Here in talent, I include acting+charisma. Then we have Ajay Devgun, no looks but he got lucky in his initial movies and he worked on his acting.

If Rajat gets one good role in movies and gets noticed, like Akbar in the serial JA, his talent alone will take him to heights. Then height will not matter.

i agree donjas, there are several good actors in telle industry who wanted to make big in the film industry but hardly any succeeded and we all know what type of roles they are getting in spite of being a complete package..i would never want rajat to end up doing such roles, then he will be better off waiting for some good serial to come his way!..lets see and hope for the best..fingers crossed!

Exactly! Who doeant want to see their fav on 70 mm screen. But if it comes at the cost of his talent I'm not intetested. For aomeone who has acheived ao much at such a young age and is known as an actor and

nd not a star I donot want him to do any role just to get in the league. And I'm sure he won't himself.

I don't expect him to insteadly be getting Lead roles (though I want to). I'll be happy with his charactet role too if it has substance attached to it. If it allows him to work and shoecase what he's got.

But just just giving him a sidey role for the heck of it..not acceptable.

We can surely wait for.him with something better.

This happened with Akbar.

He came and came with a abang!!

The wait was so fruitful for all of us and him as well.

Some brilliant pics posted here - the old ones of initial episodes that I missed
I had no intention of watching JA ever as I rarely watch TV and daily shows may be one show here there and mostly comedy never drama and rarely hindi ones.
As a kid I did not even watch PRC as it came in weekend and we watched saregamapa etc on weekends. So I have never watched Rajat till JA.
Even JA I saw promo, I put one day to check and Rajat ordered cutting off a leg of his soldier that put me off and I never ventured back to daily TV serials again.
One day while flipping TV and news channel stopped at zee tv for few seconds between news break and the scene is Akbar comes to know maham has killed his child by poisoning Ruqaiah and he goes to a kid Rahim to ask and when confirmed goes to his room and cries. That was first scene and episode that I watched of JA and then I and my family were hooked to show. Rather than flipping serials in between news breaks or Animal planet etc we started watching JA.
Regarding Rajat all I can say Rajat is a brilliant actor if only he had great looks and height he could have reached even more heights in serials. Paridhi is brilliant, her act as a princess and Queen is to be seen, someone once told me she reminded them of meena kumari. And truly paridhi can do films like jodha Akbar, bajirao mastani, barfi etc she will do it brilliantly.
Regarding Rajat becoming a Bollywood hero, its very difficult to break the cartel of Bollywood, its by family for family and of family of actors. Mandy you talk of ajay devgan and shah rukh khan. Both are from very privileged background. Ajay devgan would never have got a chance to act in serials forget movies if he was not veeru devgan's son because first looks matter in industry especially for outsider. Ajay devgan was not a great actor recently I was watching some movie of his with akshay kumar on TV for a while, he was not great neither the movie was good. The only reason he survived was because he got some great characters to play like zakhm by Mahesh bhat, company etc the characters he chooses are powerful, larger than life and 70% work is done there acting is only 30% more work. Look at paridhi who knew her she acted in 2-3 serials if she had not got JA who would have recognized her, her talent would be lost.
Next you talked of shah rukh khan, he is from theatre background, his father was freedom fighter and he had big connections, and he knows acting a bit- I do not consider his acting as great he messes up with all characters by over acting, look at devdas etc. So what clicked for shah rukh again like ajay devgan he choose path less travelled and choose anti hero roles which was unique then(now it will fail as its common) and he is a brilliant media manager. Shahrukh used media very well to publicise himself and his songs are great and locations brilliant and great sets( all the story's are similar and repetitive usually) and his friendship with Aziz mirza, karan johar etc worked for him.
So its not easy breaking this family and friends cartel group and becoming a great superstar. Look at naseerudin shah, amol palekar, om puri, nawazuddin Siddiqui, manoj bajpai etc all brilliant actors average looks and height, despite giving brilliant performance they are not super stars they struggle for roles and are side charcaters. So whether you like it or not connections and friendships and manipulation of media and PR etc are all very much required.
Read salman khan interview after maine pyar kiya he did not have work for 6 months, his father requested a producer to lie in press that he had signed salman and only then other producers came to his house. SRK, amir, salman not only have friends and family support they are good media manipulators and know how to remain in news. That is why they have survived 30 years in industry. Hardwork, talent etc is only 20-30% of the actor job rest 70-80% is how to manipulate media, industry, people etc to remain in news and get to top. Who has that talent survives rest wither. Of course luck and naseeb counts but that has less part to play.
I have not seen a superstar in last 40 years who has not come privileged background(may be an akshay kumar, but he used his affairs to stay in news) and without family support who reached on top. For heroines its different, heroines have to do different compromises to get roles and stay on top. Its a murky world out there all hidden under so called glamour.

It's not just about how he enacts, how beautiful he looks, it's also about little efdort that he puts in every character.
We all know Rajat has a soft voice something which would neversuit to character Akbar. But he modulated his voice. And how didficult it is for someone to change his voice anf speak for long. And he modulated his voice in already modulated voice according to the demand of dialogue or scene.

How many can do this?

He is a rare gem.

Most people struggle their entire lives to achieve something worthwhile. Rajat is only 24 years old and he has already portrayed an iconic and complex character like Akbar with such aplomb.

Even if he does nothing special in the rest of his life, his award winning performance in JA ensures that he will never be forgotten.

And he is so young, he has so much more to achieve.
