True That!
I always knew he is fabulous at acting but with Akbar he gave this field a whole new dimension.

Akbar was very different. Very very different from what he did earlier.
Yes he played a grey shaded character but Akbar was even more complex.

He wasn't good..he wasn't bad.

He was different.

And nobody can ever play Akbar like he did.

After watching Akbar I beleive he can don any character efdortlessly even if it is said to be Villian. He'll nail it.

Akbar in initial episodes was the best thing in Jofha Akbar and thr best Akbar ever.

Khauf-E-Jalal seemed so real!

Early days he used to give a dialogue - Sher the lion is lonely at top - He gave a fresh dimension to it with his voice and acting and we used to feel his loneliness.
And his meeting with HB a night before he was to marry Benazir was very emotional.

For all the emotion filled story and characters, surprisingly serial became devoid of emotions later - That is a diff known story.

There is no match to FIRST 100 episodes Jalal.

Need to be more active on forum since I believe the show will end next week itself and not in August. The time for goodbye is now, all those who left this forum because they were unhappy with how things were portrayed on screen, now is the chance, the only chance to say a few words of appreciation.

Rajat is such a rare talent, I hope he finds something which can do justice to his reportoire but it is going to be hard. Television has mostly female focussed roles. I don't want him to waste his time in a saas-bahu show. The other option is those finite length shows that come on STAR every now and then. But those come and disappear without a trace.

Movies is an option but we know how difficult it is to get entry and acceptance. Quite possible that now Rajat will try to fulfill his passion for direction.

agree donjas! that is why i made this thread so that i can praise this rare talent otherwise when will i get the chance! he lived the character of Akbar and we all appreciate his work..and what will happen in the future who knows..i believe in living one day at a time and like they say..jaako raakhe saniyan maar sake na koye....if its in his destiny to be a star of the future then no one can stop him from being one does not matter how tough the path is,,all the great actors that we see today had to go through rejections and hardships and if height was such a big hindrance then many short actors that have made their mark, although less in number, in bollywood or hollywood would not have done so if it was not in their destiny!...and if people can praise him for playing a larger than life role in spite of being short i am sure the brightness of a gem will not be hidden for long!

who can forget that shamsheer and ghungroo jugalbandi. Seeing how the script kept declining I was sure that Akbar is going to scold the poor chap again and end the matter.
But no that scene came as a surprise!
And what a performance.
The way he was performing and ecplaining to his son smultaneously was amazing.

That scene really stole the show .

And if initial episodes are being talked about I surely cannot miss on this part.

Rememeber the time when Hamida Bano gave hima visit?
Jalal was so cold towards her back then.

The way she asked kya tumhe hmari yad nhi aati?

And he replied
"Aati hai. Jab hum kisi bache ko laawaris rota dekhta hai, akela dekhte hai tab apki yad aati hai marium-makhani"

The way he said those lines!
Who cannot help but to change yout perspective according to thr man in front of you. You start seeing things from the pov of a man who is known as Jallad.

For getting an entry into the world of movies, more important than height or looks, it is luck and some influence in the industry. Shahrukh made it without influence on the basis of his talent alone. Here in talent, I include acting+charisma. Then we have Ajay Devgun, no looks but he got lucky in his initial movies and he worked on his acting.

If Rajat gets one good role in movies and gets noticed, like Akbar in the serial JA, his talent alone will take him to heights. Then height will not matter.

in bold so well said! and yes akbar was a very complex character, he did get to the depth of it and also he had to incorporate ekta's vision..akbar might have been complex but ekta wanted the character to be simpler in the sense be bad initially and then turn good after jodha's touch..but rajat bought his unique quality of understanding the character and putting his own charismatic touch to it and that made akbar complex yet simpler in terms of characterization!

jaya, those were the flawless golden days! whenever i start watching the show again i do go up to certain number and then stop where akbar's character takes the downside..even after that rajat's brilliance kept me hooked which till date has never happened, once i get bored with the story i stop watching the show regardless of the actors but rajat is the first actor that got me hooked and addicted to his adakaari..!
