CHAPTER 3 (PART 1)

While walking towards the room, Jalal had his one hand on Jodha's hips and with other hand his was holding her hand softly. Both were enjoying the silence in the surroundings. Soon they reached Jalal's room. He made her sit on the bed and he also sat with her. Jodha got confused and asked.

JODHA: - Shahenshah, Why you brought me here????? I will go in my room. (Jalal calmly replied)

JALAL: - What you will do there when all your stuffs are shifted to my room I mean OUR ROOM (He deliberately emphasized on OUR ROOM. Jodha was shocked. She was about to ask him something, when he kept his index finger on her lips and said) Meri Jaan, I don't want to be away from you or our child even for a second. In you last pregnancy, I could not be with you but this time I will be 24*7 with you. I don't want to take any chance with you or our child.

Jodha had tears in her eyes. She immediately hugged him and cried silently. Jalal hugged her back and let her cry because he knew how much she was waiting to be in his arms and wanted to cry. They stayed in that position for some minutes. Suddenly something struck Jodha and she broke the hug. Jalal was confused with her behavior. He asked

JALAL: - What happened to you Jodha?????? Something is bothering you?????

JODHA (With hesitation): - Shahenshah, if... I... g..gave...birth...to...a...GIRL... (Jalal understood this. He showed his palm to her indicating that he has understood and was little angry with her. He said)

JALAL: - How could you think like that, that I will not accept a girl as my child?????? I would prefer if you gave me a girl because they are gift of Al-hah and they are more mature and smart than boys. I m in this world because of a woman and you are asking me this type of question?????? (And he turned his face to the other side and was in bad mood. Till that time Jodha's eyes were filled with tears. She hugged him from back and said in crying tone)

JODHA: - I m sorry Shahenshah. I thought that you will want a boy to take the responsibility of the Sultanate. That's the only reason Shahenshah. Please don't be angry with me please. (Jalal's anger had come down the minute when Jodha hugged him. Jalal could understand what was going in her mind he could still feel that she was remembering about their sons. So without wasting any time he removed her hand, turned facing her, cupped her face in her arms and said)

JALAL: - I can understand your sorrows Meri Jaan and I know I m responsible for all these years but 1 thing I promise you that I will not let anything happen to you or our child. IT'S A SHAHENSHAH'S PROMISE.

Jodha was now full satisfied with his answer. They talked for some time and then went to sleep in each other's arms. From that day Jalal was back with his sprit. He promised himself that he would not repeat his mistake again.

7 MONTHS LATER

Now Jodha was 9 months pregnant. She has gone fat now but that is a normal thing. Everyone in the palace was happy that an innocent soul is coming in the palace very soon. Everyone prayed for their Mallika's good health. Jalal was more than happy. He was super excited but also super cautious. He always had his food with Jodha. Before Jodha consumes the food, he made sure that the food is safe. He tasted himself 1^st then he would give it to Jodha. During her craving and mood swings, Jalal himself bought things for her like raw mango, tamarind, sweet etc. After his work he would always come to Jodha and spent some time with her and the child. If he goes out (Which will be the last option) he always made sure that ammijaan is with her because his mother was the only person whom he could trust when it comes to Jodha. He always instructed her to be near her and whoever comes to meet her, she will be present there with her. Ruqaiya was burning from top to bottom and planned many things to destroy her but because of Jalal and Hamida she was not able to do anything. Jalal was still angry with Ruqaiya as he knew that due to her stupidity he lost his sons. So he always told his mother to be with Jodha when she is around. Now only some days were left for Jodha delivery. She was feeling happy that soon someone will call her ammijaan. She was in deep thoughts when Jalal entered the room and said in exciting tone.

JALAL: - JODHA BEGUM

JODHA (Snapped out of reality): - Yes Shahenshah

JALAL: - SEE WHO HAS COME TO MEET YOU????? (She turned towards the door and saw the person. Her happiness reached beyond her imagination. If she was not carrying a child she would have ran and hugged her tightly. She came in and said.)

SHAGUNI BAI: - How are you MAHARANI JODHA BAI??????

JODHA: - I m fine SHAGUNI BAI. (She greeted her and told her to have her seat. Soon Hamida, Salima and Rahim came there and greeted her and took their seats. Hamida in exciting tone)

HAMIDA: - SHAGUNI BAI, I want to know about my grand child's future. Please tell how the child will be in its future???? (Everyone had faith in her perditions as she was the only person who told that Jodha will be a part of the Mughal family. Shaguni bai smiled and replied)

SHAGUNI BAI: - Mallika-e-Aazam, get ready to invite THE GEM OF THE MUGHAL FAMILY and also start collecting jewelries and cloths for the child (Everyone was clueless about what Shaguni bai was talking. She understood and said) Yes Mallika-e-Aazam, Jodha is going to give birth to a GIRL. YOU WILL HAVE A LITTLE PRINCESS IN NEXT FEW DAYS. (Everyone was having mixed emotions on their faces.
