Yesterday's episode carried a twist in the tale 😆

Loved the episode - thanks CVs for proving me wrong!

I was sure that CVs would never show Jodha thinking things over and refusing Hamida's "orders" to convert. But that's exactly what she did. Atta girl!! 👏

At least I was right about one thing. That Jodha had been coerced by Hamida into the conversion in a weak moment. Hamida had just rushed her into the whole thing WITHOUT giving her a chance to think about anything at all. It was not that Jodha was a weak woman / queen but that she had been preyed upon in an emotionally distraught period by a person she regarded as her own mother.

Once she was in the "ibadat khana" however and hearing the maulvi's words that she should accept Islam out of love and not due to any pressure, Jodha found time to think. And think she did.

She thought about everything that Jalal had told her about WHY she should NOT convert and also thought about everything Jalal was fighting for. When he was fighting for his ideals of a secular state, standing up to the pressure imposed by the SHah-i-Iran, and encouraging her to be true to her values and not bow down to pressure, how could she let him down?

Hamida tried every trick in the book to force her hand and at last, even resorted to a direct order as MM, but she could not sway Jodha. Fortunately, even the maulvi objected to Hamida's coercions.

The words that Jodha spoke about the Shahenshah being everything for her and that all other relations, including Salim (whom she mentioned explicitly) and Hamida (whom she implied but did not state explicitly) having been created out of her relationship with Jalal only were profound.

In a gentle yet firm tone, Jodha declared her love and commitment to Jalal the husband and king. Such a scene is what makes JA special for me. Not the umpteen Jalal hugs Jodha scenes or teasing banter scenes. But scenes in which they point out in a no-nonsense manner that they will stick to each other only and brook no interference from any quarter in their relationship.

Hamida must have felt like someone had snatched the Persian carpet from under her feet in a swift stroke. Nothing had prepared her for this avatar of Jodha that would refuse her, MM, something she had asked for.

Jodha on her part, never lost her composure for a moment, never showed any disrespect. Yet she stood her ground that she would not betray her husband, his trust and his principles by going against him.

It is this kind of composed queen / MEH I want to see. Jodha as a fiery princess in her teens was fine. But now that fire should mellow down into quiet composure and determined action.

It is this kind of an idealistic queen who puts her husband's values above her son's ambitions that I want to see. (No wonder, this brave queen stood by her husband when her son rebelled in reality.)

i am glad that at least Jodha is conscious of the fact that she owes her status and privileged life to Jalal. The rest of the kulba seems to think they were born to lead a life of privilege and rank. Whether it is Ruq, Salim, Murad or Hamida in recent episodes. For them, neither Jalal matters nor his ideals. They all think from their own perspective and act accordingly, without a thought as to how their actions would affect the kingdom or undermine the authority of the Shahenshah.

Looks like the conversion drama is far from over. Jalal will likely find out that Hamida tried to force Jodha into converting and have a showdown with his mother.

Ruq may try to take advantage of the situation by manipulating Hamida and trying to widen the chasm between Hamida and Jodha.

Hamida has warned Jodha that she will not forgive the latter. Wonder what repercussions Jodha will have to face because of upsetting Hamida?

another totally brilliant post👏

yes that what i thought too atta girl 😆😆 love how she give argument in polite manner and refusing hamida's order, salim really should learn from his parents how to talk to parents even in anger dissapointed and hurt mode.

At least I was right about one thing. That Jodha had been coerced by Hamida into the conversion in a weak moment. Hamida had just rushed her into the whole thing WITHOUT giving her a chance to think about anything at all. It was not that Jodha was a weak woman / queen but that she had been preyed upon in an emotionally distraught period by a person she regarded as her own mother.

yes hamida didnt give jodha time to think, in harsh word she attack jodha in vulnerable state.

When he was fighting for his ideals of a secular state, standing up to the pressure imposed by the SHah-i-Iran, and encouraging her to be true to her values and not bow down to pressure, how could she let him down?

i like when jodha remembering all jalal words to her and she become clear bout what jalal try to said and try to make her understand why he is stood for her and never agree she convert, like jalal said its not bout his stubborness but its the basic of their marriage, jalal give freedom in religion and never allow his people convert under pressure so how come his own biwi convert under pressure.

Hamida tried every trick in the book to force her hand and at last, even resorted to a direct order as MM, but she could not sway Jodha. Fortunately, even the maulvi objected to Hamida's coercions.

im agree with maulvi that none can be force to convert to islam , it would be the biggest sin and it always interesting when people try to pull rank on jodha, in old episode ruq try to pull rank with jodha by saying the harem is hers and jodha give blow to ruq that she is maria uz zamani and not only harem but all hindustan under her including ruq, it would be intereting if jodha said that im mallike e hind and i have power too 😆😆 but i guess jodha would never ever play pull rank with hamida, but it makes me wonder between Mariam Makani vs Mallina E Hindustan/Mariam Uz Zamani who suppose to be more powefull ?, both jodha and hamida had special right to issue farman, jalal once said that mariam uz zamani are the second authority after shahenshah so what mallika e hindustan authority ?

The words that Jodha spoke about the Shahenshah being everything for her and that all other relations, including Salim (whom she mentioned explicitly) and Hamida (whom she implied but did not state explicitly) having been created out of her relationship with Jalal only were profound.

In a gentle yet firm tone, Jodha declared her love and commitment to Jalal the husband and king. Such a scene is what makes JA special for me. Not the umpteen Jalal hugs Jodha scenes or teasing banter scenes. But scenes in which they point out in a no-nonsense manner that they will stick to each other only and brook no interference from any quarter in their relationship.

and yet again jodha show where her loyalty lay, hat off to jodha who told hamida that his son are the most matter for her, she love hamida and salim too but for her jalal will always come first , like whe she said jalal give her this family

Yet she stood her ground that she would not betray her husband, his trust and his principles by going against him.

she and jalal had the same manner, earlier when hamida told jalal bout not goin against iran king, even jalal face show lit bit irritate but he still composure and talk to his ameejan with respect nothing less.

They all think from their own perspective and act accordingly, without a thought as to how their actions would affect the kingdom or undermine the authority of the Shahenshah.

im happy jodha realize, respect and appreciate what she gain from marriage with jalal eventough she never crave for power or title but it come naturally for her.

Looks like the conversion drama is far from over. Jalal will likely find out that Hamida tried to force Jodha into converting and have a showdown with his mother.

even lot people want jodha to told jalal bout hamida but i appreciate jodha who want to solve between her and hamida, like jodha told to moti its between mother and dauhgter, but im kinda scare what will jalal do when he find out bout this matter, remember how he roar to ruq when she suggest jodha to convert, last time jalal still can composure and respect her when he refused her to not go war with iran king but now hamida force his belove jodha to convert behind his back and we know how jalal can be very protective and possesive with his jodha, he dont see relation when it come to defend jodha, and the narator in earlier episode said that what hamida do will bring another storm, may be it will be bring rift between jalal and hamida.

Ruq may try to take advantage of the situation by manipulating Hamida and trying to widen the chasm between Hamida and Jodha.

well what can ruq do beside taking advantage to pull jodha down, this woman had problem with station life😆😆

Hamida has warned Jodha that she will not forgive the latter. Wonder what repercussions Jodha will have to face because of upsetting Hamida?

Jodha did not take his permission and hid everything from him.. She almost converted .. but came to her senses on n ick of time.. but now Jalal will be hurt that how could she even think of accepting to convert? He will feel betrayed by his his wife and his mother. I am worried about those repercussions and not of Hamida and Jodha.. Hamida's ego is hurt but I dont think she will do anything to consciously to hurt Jo.. I hope so.. CVS have given us the strong Jo we wanted to see so.. let her be firm... I hope the talaq thing is just a dream...that will be too extreme a step...
but his reactions to Jo are always extreme bcoz his love for her is also such. maybe..

Neesha yes episode was wonderful.jodha +HB realtion, lets see how much effects.

Thank you Radhika, for sharing profound thoughts about Jodha.😊
Yes, Jodha definitely deserves praise for holding her own and standing up to Hamida Begum's manipulations, thereby respecting Jalal's reverence towards her faith and promise given to her at the time of their marriage granting her total freedom to pay obeisance to her faith.

By firmly refusing to convert, she as the queen, as Mallikka-e-hind, has given a firm boost to Jalal's conviction that every non-muslim in the aawaam has the right to preserve their identity by adhering to their religion of birth and not being coerced to convert to Islam under any circumstance. She being the role model for several Hindus in the aawaam has paved the way for them to love and respect their large hearted, progressive Shehenshah, with her decision.

Jodha fulfilled the 'kartavya' of a patni and of a begum in the truest sense.

Jodha and Jalal together, are going to do justice to the saying "A good marriage is each for the other, and two against the world". As the plot unfolds, we will see this taking shape.
