I was disappointed when Sheikh Mubarak wanted Akbar to support the Shah's decision. And when he goes to the Sa'afir from Iran, then also he looks weak and ineffectual.

We were expecting SM to give Akbar the idea of declaring himself as the final arbiter in all disputes, civil or religious. But we got an SM who was warning Akbar not to go against the Shah.

Instead we had Salim giving the idea of Akbar standing upto the Shah and maintaining his independence, come what may.

I have no objections to the Salim NR here, though, in reality Salim must have been a kid of 10 years when the incident occurred.

But I wanted to see a strong, pragmatic SM here guiding Akbar thru the delicate mix of politics and religion and public sentiment. Hoping to see some semblance of this in the track. :)

Radhika,
You could have posted here only. There was no history reference in your post. :)

Though, i did not write my views on yesterday's episode. But, had i written anything, then it would have been something like this only..

Because, this was all in all a daring step taken by Akbar via Sheikh Mubarak. Another thing which i found was the weak presentation of Sheikh Mubarak. He was a gifted genius. Such a strong person, and was not liked by the orthodoxy. But yesterday, he was presented as someone who was asking Akbar to calm down...

The thing which i could, NOT AT ALL digest was Salim's dialogues. What he said should actually have been the dialogue of Jalal. I was fuming that time. 😳

Another funny thing. Though, i am not comparing Salim and Akbar. But, one thing i noticed. HAD Rajat said those dialogues which were said by Salim , the force and "natural" thrust which comes along is really felt. But, it was missing in Salim. Though, he tried his best, BUT i did not like it. The difference was SO CLEARLY visible. :-P

Though, it is not lost. Our CV's try to move slowly in the start. There is another thought in my mind. Perhaps, Sheikh Mubarak will be slowly given a lead in this track. We know that in reality also Sheikh Mubarak solved this issue after taking a lot of time. And by careful considerations. Perhaps, this is what will happen here. Precap showed that the Iranian ruler would create some problem, and then we will see the point of Jodha religion conversion and some other issues of awaam...Slowly tempo will be built. :))

Though, i do not expect anything at all from CV's, but the thing is this track is automatically capable of delivering a lot , hence even if CV's want it will be hard to mess up here. I am at peace after posting about what happened in REALITY, because this was all in all a UNIQUE INNOVATION of Sheikh Mubarak, implemented by Akbar. And, No timid ruler can go to this extent. One needs a lot of will to do that.

Vinita,
Yesterday Salim's dialogues were bearable. But those dialogues should have been for Akbar. Rest was fine. It was watchable. For once, he understood his parents.

You are right - Jalal should have said those dialogs. But problem is that he is involved in the issue personally. So if he said those dialogs on his own, his awaam would say he was taking that stand just because it was a question of his wife's faith. Jalal needed someone to say those words in public so that it would look like it was the suggestion of someone else - a neutral party.

As such, Salim is also involved in the issue - so he should also have been kept silent. And Sheikh Mubarak or at least one of the 9 gems like Birbal or Fazl could have given that suggestion. It would have looked credible.

I agree that SM and Akbar took a few years to come up with their master plan. (See my comment which talks of same point 😊 --> Link) But at least the CVs should have shown SM as a strong, liberal person who stood up to the orthodoxy (for which he initially paid very heavily) , even if they show him taking time to formulate a solution.

Right now, your views look perfect to me Radhika. Sheikh Mubarak should be one speaking up.. You are correct, had Jalal spoken so openly it could have created problem...BUT, don't you think even then also, Jalal "ultimately" spoke the same only, only after Salim mentioned that point...I was objecting to intereference of Salim here...

Thanks for the link. It is true, Sheikh Mubarak was himself a victim of persecution for YEARS together, and hence he was well aware of challenges. The Mazhar framed by him reflects his understanding of how to deal with the issue. :)

Salim is the parallel / junior hero. So the CVs keep bringing him into the limelight somehow or the other. 😆

For them, everyone else is an extra character, only needed to fill the frame. 😊
