Abhay, I read your detailed post. It was a fascinating read. All the twists and political outmaneuvering that Akbar did during this period is just perfect for a Hindi serial, provided the CV's are capable enough to adapt it to the small screen.

I have a true story regarding Akbar and religion. As everyone knows Akbar had an interest in various religions. The Jesuits too enjoyed his patronage.

It so happened that at one time, Jesuit priests from Goa came to Akbar with a request, they had a very strong urge to convert some people.

Akbar agreed with their views and decided to provide the Jesuits with 5 Turkic soldiers for conversion. So, it happened that 5 hapless Turkic soldiers, maybe they were given financial incentive by Akbar, or maybe they were genuinely clueless. At the end of it all, 5 Turkic soldiers became fresh converts to Christianity.

I gave this story to point out how unlikely this scenario is in the modern setup. Religion had a strong hold during those times too, but Kings had greater leeway over religion, than do politicians in modern times.

The points i marked in bold..^^^
I also expect them to proceed on the same lines. It's been a LOONG time, they introduced something which we can trace back to our books.!!

Though they are telling the story in their own spicy manner with dramatization, still the track is much better compared to the drastic fall in standards recently.
Hoping for revival, if the BT(Balaji TeleFilms) can do it. Let us see. :)

None of us expects them to show a documentary on Akbar. At least i do not .
Watching the show on TV itself means the purpose is entertainment.!
So, i do not have much expectations. ;)
Just want them to show the track in a manner that looks believable.

Finally, when the TRPs hit a rock bottom of 2.6 did the Creatives and the erstwhile producer wake up. They have finally decided to put focus on Jodha and Akbar again, making the 'Epic Love' one of the side tracks.

I hope they manage to pull it off, or else Zee TV will have to launch a new show😊

You are absolutely correct. When the news of SA getting started was announced, it was "touted" as something which will "increase" the romance "quotient" of this show and further contribute to TRP's. But see what happened . The moment leap was taken the drop in interest became evident. Add to this the pathetic afeem-ing of Salim and the manner in which he disrespects his parents was aweful.

I think makers tried their best, but SA was something which can never BEAT JA and more so never compete with the charm of the LEADS. Hence, we are watching these tracks. I too wish they resurrect the show, the extent is to be seen. :)
