Chapter-8

Both simply agreed not to trust their hearts and they both dozed off. They got up later the night, again feeling quite strange again feeling each other's presence, yet they both denied it and had their dinner and again they both shut their eyes to get lost in the world of dreams, where they both where always together. They did not know how but they had learned to control their heart's emotions, maybe the pain taught them to control their heart's emotions. Soon the dawn came and soon the sun rays spread here and there embracing everything in its reach and yet it is another painful day of Jalal's and Jodha's life. Jalal gets up early in the morning as he has to go to find Jodha. He felt better, his fever is down, plus his wounds seemed to be healed to a large extent. He freshens up and leaves after having breakfast and informing DR. He leaves with new hope of meeting Jodha soon, and to keep her till eternity. Later in the morning Jodha also gets up. Her fever has also come down, but still she is weak, as her body has just began healing. Yet, she is thankful for the peaceful and comfortable sleep she had got after almost a month. She goes and freshens up and while the widow goes out for collecting wood for fire she examines herself in the mirror

And the word that comes from her mouth is disastrous. Jodha agreed that she looked disastrous, her face looked pale actually paler than ever, then she realized that she did not look pale since today, but since the time she left Agra, but this after a month she is looking herself in the mirror. Jodha laughs at this fact of her life that a princess who could live a day without seeing herself in a mirror lived without seeing herself for a month. Jodha says to herself- See the irony of your life. Wait... Halt there are too many ironies in your life. She said this with sarcasm evident in her tone. This when she notices the widow entering the cottage , she cooks breakfast and offers it to Jodha, which she happily, yet thankfully agrees as she is famished, plus she barely got food to eat when she was kidnapped. While eating the breakfast she thinks that this food is not as lavish as the one she usually had when she lived in the palace, but still it is fulfilling and is given by the widow of the little she did have. After having breakfast, she decides to go for a stroll as; she did not want her limb to get lazy as she had decided to run from Jalal, her family in Amer, as well as from the kidnappers. This run seemed to last till she remained a part of this world and she could not be weak because if she does not run she will die. This run is for her life she thought. While strolling she notices few Mughal soldiers she gets scared as she did not want anyone to recognize her. So, she hides behind a tree, and she sees' the soldiers passing by, but she finds something weird about one of the soldiers, she found a soldiers face similar to the kidnapper. That is when she understood the whole scenario that the kidnappers had dressed up as Mughal soldiers to catch her. She had to leave the widow's house as soon as possible because she did not want the widow to get stuck in problem and that to because of her. So she hurries to the widow house and she says she has to leave, because this place is not safe for her as well as she does not want her to get stuck in trouble because of her. The widow knew Jodha had nowhere else to go so she tries to persuade Jodha to stay, but fails to do so. So, she allows Jodha to go, but makes her promise to come and meet her once. To which Jodha promises and leaves. On, the other hand Jalal is strolling in the market looking for Jodha, because he known's very well that the market is the best place for escaping, without even being suspected by anyone. So he seemed to notice each and every woman in the market to see some suspicion in their moment, but to his dismay till now he did not find even one. Jodha had to cover herself with a thin shawl, even though the sun is shining mercilessly, because she had to hide her wounds. She felt like she is boiling inside the shawl, she wants to throw the shawl but could not; she felt that she would evaporate any moment. After walking for some time she stops because the road diverged into two. She knows where the roads will take her, one will take her to the market and the other straight outside Mathura. She stood there for sometime thinking the pros and cons of choosing one path. At, end she came to the conclusion of choosing the path which led to the market even though she knew it is long, but it is safe because it is crowded and if in case these kidnappers come to the market it will be difficult for them to find her as there are many woman in the market. So she heads for the market. She is wearing a pink colour chaniya choli with a thin black shawl today. The dark crescents under her eyes seemed to have lightened because of her last night's sleep, yet they were still there. Her steps were firm but not so firm, but not so firm like a healthy and hale person's. Jodha walked half way and half way she literally was dragging her body because her feet seemed to be too weak to handle her body's weight, but then also somehow she managed to reach the market. She took a sigh of relief. She is feeling very thirsty, but ignores her thirst. By, now the kidnappers have also come in the market as they had already tried finding Jodha through the jungle path, but could not find her. Jodha notices them and gets scared to the core as she did not want to return to that hell. She decides of changing her path, but then she thinks what if they will come there also? She tells herself that she has to face them as they will surely come in front of her some or the other day. The day maybe today or some other day in further, she has to finish this tale and for this she has to face them. It is either this way or that way. She is a Rajvanshi and Rajvanshi's do not run from their problems rather they face their problems cause they are warriors not cowards and this what Jodha reminded herself that she is warrior and she needs to face them she has to put a full stop for the chase. She touches to check for the Khanjar which is hung near lehenga which is thankfully there. She thinks if they find me I'll fight cause I am feed up with this chase. Jalal on the other hand notices something weird correction extremely weird Mughal soldiers in Mathura and that too in their uniform because he had not summoned any soldiers from Agra and who were with him were ordered to dress as commoners and secondly he sees' a woman who has covered her face with a thin black colour shawl and she is wearing a pink coloured chaniya choli, but he could not understand why is she hiding her face and secondly why has she covered herself in such a hot scorching day. Even he is confused that among such a huge crowd why did his eyes fall upon that woman only? Why did he fell he knew her forever. At the end he comes to an conclusion that he is over exaggerating and he does not know the woman . On, the other hand Jodha also felt that someone close to her heart is there. She could feel the same aura she had been feeling since yesterday but her cloud of thoughts soon disappear as she sees a kidnapper approaching her quickly the opposite direction where Jalal is moving away from. She literally runs from her spot she turns back to check whether the kidnapper is behind by mistake she bashes with a man and her shawl falls down and that is when a kidnapper spots her and calls all other kidnappers and Jodha notices it. She bends down to pick up her shawl unknowingly she had bashed with Jalal. She turns down to pickup her shawl and says - hume shama karna. Jalal recognizes her voice at a flick of second and says- Jodha Begum...
