Hi Maddy ,
I didn't watch the episode until 9 and even after reading your update was debating whether to watch it or not. Then my addiction overcame me and I steeled myself to watch the episode and what a surprise I was in for .It was not at all a bad episode but rather a sensational one as it was good in many ways.I ffed all the zeenat ,quasim and her poisoning as I was not interested in her front but wanted to watch jo,ja and reaction of other agra inmates so I will put my perception only on this.Maddy do bear with me for a longer post as I want to put forth everything I felt.
Before going to the actual episode I would like to post a reply I made on context of jo leaving hussain and going to jalal .I put it first here as I think it has relevance with what is shown today.
Prelude to the actual episode
I don't see jo going to jalal leaving hussain as very strange but a very normal human reaction. We know that night brought upon them a terrible guilt ,but for a moment if leave that repercussion and just see the action from both their views.
From jo's pov we should also take into account that she thinks hasans death as natural one.She has no reasons until then to suspect zeenat .Her refusal to zeenat is merely on the grounds that she wants to spend most of the time with hm before he goes back to ruq. She feels hasan has fever and again zeenat contradict her by saying a firm no .Lot of time mothers instinct serves right .Yet here we have to take into account also her present satate of mind with her just lost a child its natural for mothers to feel a panic of even normal situaation and since she has no reason to suspect zeenat she might have Coming to your question on why she didn't take hussain with her ,the answer lie in itself. When moti comes and inform he is hurt she knows its nothing of imminent danger otherwise everyone wouldn't have been that normal and if she had very well wanted to see if he is just ok she very well would have taken hussain with her,but her dilemma here is whether to spend a night with a husband who is ailing or to stay with her son .Here when zeenat and moti assures they will take care of everything she is naturally inclined to go to him which also can be considered as a momentary weakness we all humans exhibit. Here the love she felt for her husaband momentarily overcame the instict that somecould go wrong which in a philosophical way also can be considered as an irony of fate.
From Jalal ,unlike jo he knows there is a possibility of something amiss though he too still have no reason to suspect zeenat .Here we have to also take into consideration that its not his distrust for zeenat which made him to take the child away from ruq rather the love he felt for jo and his resolution that he will find a way to ease her pain is primarily the reason he took hussain to jo. No when he have suspiscion the normal instinct would be asking to go her back, but here again he is in a stupor after clearly a challenging day when his instincts would be lulled ,so though he twice tried asking her to go back there was still a longing in him that she will stay back and give him some solace and when she assured she had left hussain on safe hands he too succumbed to the momentary weakness of a longing of a human mind to find peace and comfort in another.
Tomorrow would bring upon in them a terrible guilt so often called as survivors guilt that they had failed to be in moments of need of our loved ones. Though in a different context but even gandhi had noted in his autobiography of this guilt that he couldn't be with his father in his last moments ..
The thing is we always even judge our normal reactions based on the consequence of actions that follow it and so often blame ourselves ..I'm still thinking would we have had the same reaction if salima was with hussain that day and nothing happened to hussain and if he was normal.l
Actual episode:
SR:
I really liked this sr more than the first one not only because of the seeming ease between both, but it beautifully portrayed the healing of wounded souls through the warmth of love they felt for each other. The tears that glistened their face brought forth the pain and the grief they felt and made the union more of a spiritual one. The other scenes embedded into this sr brought forth the seeming contrast of dark and light that walk hand in hand in day to day life. A wife so often considers her husband as her first son and so the forehead kiss was really touching for me in a way that a mother who now finds a son in peace goes to the other.
Death of hussain
I would say this whole track belong to rajat and pari ,but for me today it was pari who outshined a bit more with her excellent expressions. B e it the seemingly happy mother who found her son asleep, the playful banter that now he has become sensible, the utter delight in just watching her sleeping son ,the moment of numb disbelief as she realizes or the deep agony as her soul has been ripped apart from her she outdid everything.
And coming to ruq what a pitiable state she has brought herself into. The moment off hasan's death hb,gb everyone rushed to console jo over their cousin as all of their natural instinct would be to comfort an ailing mother rather than a disillusioned human. If ruq had shown some grief some might have tried to console her ,but all she now to do was blame jo and not even hoshiyar today find it in to support her. This is the sorry plight of a woman who never realized what love is and i doubt if she ever will? The precap seems to confirm it ,she now wants to kill an innocent baby which has done no harm to her and here I fail to see the difference between zeenat and ruq .Both wanted the same revenge and doesn't seems to care how they achieved it.
Rise of Jallad:
And rajat was once again excellent in his portrayal .How hard it should have been for him to hold that same stance throughout the ranting. Jalal waking up from his sleep was once again pushed into facing the harsh realities of the life. His running to her and then the state of a complete numbness as he watch as a lifeless soul seeing only the agony of jo and all the strands of love that are binding him seem to loosen up and the deep buried wounded animal instinct sees its rise. The moment he knew his children are poisoned there rises the jalad an enigma to be feared.
All in all it was not all a bad episode and I would recommend everyone to give it a try with minimum hopes.
